I've had enough of this freezing, light bleeding, gps deficient tablet
Is asus still offering full refunds?

Well, instead of posting a stupid link, I'll just answer your question. Unfortunately they are not. Asus has taken advantage of many in my opinion, because they're unwilling to try to make things right w/ the many dissatisfied consumers who have purchased their defective tablet.

This is the last anything I buy from assus
Sent from my Samsung iDroid

I've had to give in and obtian a refund, tried for too long to use it effectively.
The GPS dongle doesn't even work for me

i purchased 1, used for 2 weeks then now sent for RMA for more than 1 month already, still not in my hand yet.
totally disappointed about asus and this sh.t
i will say bye bye the asus forever

That would be pretty lame if true. I was going to ask for a refund when they started all the talk about a big announcement. While I appreciate the GPS dongle, this really isn't a fix. For me it would need to work with the dock installed because that is how I would tend to use it as the passenger in a vehicle/carpool or whatever. Also the BT/Wifi dropout is kind of a big deal to me. So I guess I should have asked for a refund when I had the chance instead of giving ASUS the opportunity to make it right. I haven't bashed ASUS up to this point, but if this is true this will be the first time. I think they should give everyone who purchased thinking they would have GPS a reasonable opportunity to get a refund.

Touch Wood but
I dont have any of the issues that would make me turn down the TP..
I might (barely noticeable) have some light bleeding on the top left side... maybe 0 GPS signal.. and if you really need a 10.1" cover the whole fu* window of you car GPS, you can get the GPS dongle..
But my Wifi is just as good if not better than my Galaxy S2, it preforms like a beast when I need to open large 100mb+ pdf's, editing that last few values on exel spreads before the reports need to go in, makes the keyboard a life saver..
watching a movie when I dont have much to do, play the odd game to kill some time..
None of these features can be out done by any other tablet..
and dont even come with the new IPAD retina display bla bla BS, cause if I have to wait 30min+ for iTunes to convert a 30min TV series so the stupid thing can play it, I wouldn't have time to use it..

Finally!!! Asus!!!

After 2 defective launch ATP's, yesterday I finally got a almost perfect unit with dock. My first 2 Primes from Gamestop were a nightmare. They both had every problem reported. The Prime I bought is fantastic. Even the GPS works perfect w/o WiFi. No lag or anything even with the Killer Whale pacing back and forth. No FC's or restarts with ICS. I Love it.
No problems with the camera and flash.
The only 2 problems that bother me is that, no matter what video player I use the audio always lags through Bluetooth and WiFi and Bluetooth do NOT work at the same time. I really enjoy this Prime because the resolution is perfect for my emulators. Anything higher would cause some of my movies and emulators to look like garbage. The Prime and dock really are a premium product as long as you get one that works. Thank You everyone and Gary Key for pushing Asus to finally put out a world class product.
So moral of the story: 1 out of 3 chances you will get the product you paid for.
I think Asus has stepped up their quality control recently.
What is your serial (only the first 5/6 letters)
So did you get your 3rd TP from GameStop as well or did you purchase it from somewhere else?
So this is very very interesting as it is the second thread that someone has posted indicating a "perfect" prime.
The first thread, I was like "BS" due to the fact that the OP really didn't say anything afterwards. It could, perhaps, be that Asus finally observed the issues with the QC and finally made corrections. After bringing back 2 primes because of backlight bleed, perhaps its time to make another run.
I would like to see the first 3-6 letters of the Serial number, also, if you have the chance a picture of a black background with no backlight bleed. After all, I think you owe it to us to provide some sort of "proof" considering your claims. You just can't come on here and say, "I have a perfect prime" with nothing to show for it when we have so much other material to work from that indicates the Prime is a horrible piece of hardware.
Sure he can. Why not? Why would he owe you anything in that respect?
I think what it boils down to is quality control issues, so it's the luck of the draw... just like there are bad/weak ones coming out, the probability is that there will be ones with no issues as well, and it seems he was able to find one of those.
I mean, mine is as "near-perfect" as it seems to get too... no lockups, the wifi works well, as does the GPS (I don't think it would hold up in real time navigation, but it picks up about 12 sats in a short period of time indoors on the ground floor of my house.) And, it has very negligible light bleed.
That being said, this is my 3rd prime (the previous two I returned due to quality issues - dead pixel, bad light bleed on one of them)
The interesting thing is, I upgraded both of those previous primes to ICS before I returned them (I figured "why not" since they were going back to the store anyways - if they start locking up, no problem). I upgraded them both to ICS without any issues, and used them about 2-3 days each before returning them... not a single lockup on either of them
I'm now on my 3rd prime (all WW SKU), and given that the previous 2 upgraded no problem, I decided to upgrade this one as well. I did, and it's been rock solid.
My friend has one as well, also upgraded to ICS. Also no issues.
So for the record, there's 4 that upgraded to ICS no problem.

My 3rd prime is perfect as well. The gps is weak but it at least works. Not a big issue to me. I think I have fixed the lag-i\o issues as well.
I have a perfect prime n not showing y'all a damn thanggg...lmfao. if you want to be short sighted n believe all the negative stuff then do so. We just just continue to enjoy our devices as we see fit. PRIME is an Excellent piece of hardware when done properly. If it wasn't, I been would've returned mines. Fact for me is, it works great in my day to day use.
I just bought a used prime yesterday on graiglist for $350. Iwas not aware of all issue this table has. I bought like new in box condition and now checking all theproblems list i am happy to say that mine is perfect. No backlight issue, amazing wifi range as good has my laptop, gps connect in a second without wifi, serial number show corret. Im in love with this and getting rid of my useless touchpad

Agreed, I'm going to wait about two weeks then make another run at it. Lightbleed is the number 1 issue in my book.

I had this same problem with my original Transformer, with Netflix and my Motorola S9-HD headphones. I never did resolve it, so I simply started using wired headphones.
Bottom line, I don't think this is a Prime-specific issue...
Mine works fine. My GPS reception is mediocre, but it does work. Everything else is perfect.
You guys need to understand that defective products exist. I recently got a galaxy nexus and the phone had awful reception. Dropped connections every 20 minutes or less. Got verizon to replace it with a new phone which works perfectly.
Mine is also fine. Barely any light bleed, GPS not great, and one miniscule bright spot on the screen (not a dead pixel). Everything else is gravy.

We agree that defective products exist. But Asus is clearly having an issue with quality control. And it isn't an issue with just a small few. 90% of them have backlight bleed issues. If you think you don't, you're probably not looking hard enough.
What it really comes down to is what you personally are willing to live with. My prime is great, wifi is strong, gps works (locked on 5 sats last night) however it has a single dead pixel. Is this a game breaker? No. My first prime had 2 bright areas and 2 dark areas. This was a game breaker. I returned it and ordered a new one. Now the new one has a dead pixel however when actually using the prime I don't notice one single dead pixel.
If you can live with the issues you have with your Prime, great. Use the hell out of the TFP and give it great word of mouth. If you have a defective unit and you can't live with the defects by all means return it. I would never advise anyone to do otherwise. I'm a giant advocate for not accepting poor service or quality. I worked the last 4 years doing QA, I know how things go.
However if you can't seem to find your perfect TFP, let it go. Find another device and just move on. We understand your frustration but continually badmouthing something others like/love will only cause contempt and discord.
This is not directed at anyone in particular.
TLDR: If you have a good TFP great, if its defective sorry return it and move on.

Maybe I'll take a pic later to show no bleeding. I'm not sure why you don't believe me. Look at my previous posts here. I'm probably the last person on Earth to give the ATP praise. This is the first positive thing I've said about the Prime....and it was hard for me to do so, with all the negative posts I have made about my past experiences.

I noticed my bezel seems a lot tighter than my previous primes. I think that has something to do with backlight bleeding.
The Prime on display also had no backlight bleeding. I had made arrangement to take the display model if my Prime had bleeding.

Bestbuy.
How are you guys testing your gps? What I do to test is open google maps so I can get a map of my area. Then I drive around the block and see if I'm being tracked real time.
I drove around here in Anchorage with a constant lock on 8. There is a discrepancy of about 65 feet. Can someone pleaase help me with Bluetooth audio delay during video playback? This delay does not happen with Youtube or Netflix. It only happens with every video player I use. Asus wants me to RMA. There's no way I'm giving up this Prime!!!

Prime + Keyboard for $450?

Someone is offering me $450 for my Transformer Prime with the Keyboard dock. I am tempted to accept it, and wait for the prime or another tablet.
My problem with my tablet are the very weak wifi connection (for example, I cannot play HD videos on my TP whereas my EVO 4G plays the same videos with no problem at all, 3mb download while my computer gets 12mb), the lack of GPS connectivity (I have never been able to view a single satellite using GPS test), and I hate that ASUS chose to put only one speaker, which makes listening not really pleasant.
Do you think I should accept it or should I hope that ASUS will find a way to amke things better on the TP?
I don't know what kind of issues you have had, but I guess the question is do they make the tablet unusable for you, or do they just irritate you because you paid a premium for a high end tablet and (quite rightfully) expect it to work as advertised ? I ordered my Prime back in December, Amazon was out of stock and I had to wait, during the wait I read up on all the issues and seriously considered cancelling my order, but decided to give it a chance, Amazon's no hassle return policy helped a lot in this regard. I'm glad I decided to give it a whirl because the Prime meets my needs and is going to allow me to lighten up the gadget load while travelling, by replacing one of my laptops, my Kindle and potentially my iPod.
I have had my Prime for all of 8 days and so far I am pleased. The thing OTA'd itself to Sammich and presumably applied the wi-fi and GPS patches at that time. From what I have seen the wi-fi range isn't stunning, but it's more than adequate. The Wi-Fi King at my house is my little Toshiba NB201, it out ranges every other device we have in the place and it typically runs 3-8 db stronger than the Prime. But the Prime is right there with my iPod Touch, and seems a bit stronger than my wife's Toshiba laptop. GPS is so so, and that's not a real issue for me, but it'll lock up pretty quickly outside, and within 30 seconds in the house. I can't complain much about that. I have seen some of the other issues that people complain about, the browser was pretty dodgy for a couple of days after the Sammich update, I also noticed screen flicker after playing Spirit off the Market, but both those issues appear to have either fixed themselves, or the Prime pulled a fast one and updated without telling me. Either way they are fixed. I'd be hard pressed to take a $250-$350 hit unless the tablet was just unusable for my intended purpose. I hope this helps and good luck with your Prime, if you keep it make sure you hold Asus feet to the fire to get it fixed.
tablet and keyboard for $450 and you still thinking about it. Even if you don't want to keep it you can make profit out of it

I was considering accepting because I am right now disappointed by the fact that I cannot watch HD videos on the net and, frankly, if a device is wifi only, the wifi connection should not suffer any weakness, and in my case, it makes me feel I have a useless device if I cannot do my favorite things on it. Also the fact that ASUS is releasing a new version of the transformer with a different back plate makes me think they now there is a problem with the current device and they are not able to fix it. But on second thought, I will keep it and hope ASUS does something to improve my experience.

Lol the TF700 is just hteir "next" product that won't be out until the summer. People have also proved that hte case isn't what caused the issue. It's a bad connection to the antennas.
That said, the tablet plus dock cost $650. Are you saying you'd accept $200 less than what it costs???

Someone would have to be a fool to accept that kind of loss....lmfao device still brand new...

We should appreciate the transformer prime more.

With all the complaints in this forum, you'd think this was a bad device.
I'll tell you, over in the tf101 forum there was no where near as many complaints and the tf101 wasn't the perfect device either.
The prime is an improvement in alot of ways.
The tf101 had backlight bleeds, I went through 3 of them before I settled.
The tf101 was sluggish, no one here can fully respect the power of the tegra 3 processor without experiencing the tegra 2. The boot time was like 4 minutes, it was slow in alot of areas that the prime isn't.
It had to use honeycomb up until 2 weeks ago, that's about a year - prime owners got it asap with a slew of support from asus for the gps/wifi issues.
The tf101 had keyboard dock issues, alot of the docks had to be sent back in.
It was fat and plastic. It was brown. It collected dust under it's camera.
It wasn't perfect.
But what device is? Galaxy tabs are diet vanilla, nothing really special or innovative about them. The follow the ipad status quo. Toshiba tabs are jokes on battery life. Acers are humongous. Ipads use proprietary apple garbage and are extremely limited by their OEM.
When I got my prime I would grip this thing tightly and say to myself "I own a ****ing transformer prime".
I waited for this thing for months through using my tf101, when everyone was hoping Q4 release meant October, but october stretched on to november, and then december when it finally came out.
But this exceptional tablet gets overshadowed by a couple of it's faults, rather than how great it's advantages are.
We own the world's first quad core tablet, it's thin, it's beautiful, it get's ridiculous battery life with it's incredibly well designed keyboard dock. We have usb connectivity, micro sd, full sized sd, hdmi, etc. Some devices don't have any of those, let alone all of them like we do.
Sure something better will come. Maybe you want a more expensive Ipad 3 with a redundant screen resolution, slower cpu, thicker design to compensate for it's thirst of excessive battery life, and lack of expansion. It's not perfect and the devices after it won't be either...
It's time we be happy prime owners. Asus did design a good device, and they don't receive credit where credit is due. I'm proud to own this tablet.

I really like it. I'm not an Asus fanboy, in fact I try as hard as possible to not be a fanboy of anything.
That being said, there were and are shortcomings. But over time the bugs will get ironed out, CM9 and other ROM makers will do some wonders.
I don't know, when I use the Prime (especially with the new floaty browser!) I feel more like I'm using a computer, not an appliance. You know, file management is in my hands, I can f*** around with the OS, break it if I want. Whenever I use my friends' or coworkers' iDevices they just feel like appliances with a shallow OS.
But I'm not trying to sell anyone on it. Some people like it, some people don't. I like seams, I like tinkering. I learn more from it. All those folks complaining about their wifi, gps, screen issues; I guarantee you they have learned MUCH more about those aspects of mobile computing because of those faults.

this is kind of weird and hard to understand how you guys settle with a device that has a lot of design flaws on both hardware and software. Asus transformer prime was my first tablet. And to be honest the one I got had nearly no light bleed, an okay wifi, kind of working GPS and fairly stable device in comparison with the horror stories that we all know through the forum. I made the though call return my transformer prime one day before my return window. The idea I had was wait a little until Asus get the problems fixed and buy a great one. However, I realized that I have to have a tablet as waiting for a fixed transformer. So I went ahead and bought a Samsung galaxy tab from Costco which has a 90 days return window. Here is my impression out of my first 10 days
-way stable. Had to reboot only one time due to firmware upgrade.
-no hiccups as I use or browse. It is dual core but performs way better than the balance mode of transformer
-screen readability is better than transformer
-wifi, GPS and Bluetooth works in a way it is suposed to be
- Form factor way comfortable than prime. No sharp uncomfortable edges. Way better feeling in your hand. I don't believe I would have written this.
-battery last way longer than prime
There are a few benefits that prime has over.
super ips display is better for outdoor use
Tergra 3 may be better for tegra optimized games. But I am not a game person and use my tablet for business.

Galaxy tab smoother than the prime, that's cute haha. I can see how those sharp rounded corners would be a pain seeing as how they would break the laws of physics and all, can't be having that.

a few things i hate about the galaxy tab 10.1 wifi was the newton rings on the screen...it gets worse and worse over time.
also it did not have a microsd slot nor a micro hdmi.
those were the deal breakers for me
less people complained about Toyotas having brakes that didnt work than have whined like babies about this TOY. and look at that, Toyota's still the #1 car manufacturer. so when people say we ''settled'' for our Primes, they are sorely mistaken. my Prime had to settle for ME as a user, as it is FAR beyond anything i can hope to do. I hate to correct you, but Toyota lost 16% of sales last year and is now no.3 after GM and VW (by a wide margin). Having said that I also have only good things to say about my lovely Prime, but it`s certainly important to note, that I don`t really use the GPS, since that duty is up to my GN. In any case I also respect other opinions, but life is sometimes nicer looking at a glass that is half full compared to viewing it as half empty
Coming from the Acer Iconia A500, I can honestly say that the ATP is WAY better in every way but one. The wifi is slightly poorer than on the Acer. That one was far from perfect either when coming to wifi. And the ranting in the Acer forum is way way less than on this forum.
I am simply AMAZED that some people expect their tablet to have a functionel GPS INDOORS!!! I canĀ“t even get satelite lock indoors with my Garmin car gps.
I fixed the wifi problem quite simply by adding a second wifi router in the house using the house wires. And people complain about not getting a signal when they are other places than home... I just bring my own wifi in the form of a Huawei E586 (Search on Ebay)
On my Acer I had poor wifi, sluggish scrolling and browsing, squicky body, and a front and back part that did not want to stay together down in the left corner, Heavy, FAT, poor battery compared to the ATP, no alternatives regarding dockingstation.....the list just goes on.
And worst of all compared to ATP... Acers EXTREMLY POOR customer service. If you think that ASUS has bad service...try Acer!!!
Updates took forever compared to other tablet makers. I think the tf101 and Xoom got HC 3.2 about 2 months before any Acer tablet did.
I think that Acer A500/501/200 users still have to wait yet another couple of months before they get ICS.
When the A500 came out it had HC 3.0 and people had to wait several months to even get the HC 3.1. If you have ever tried the HC 3.0 you would be reluctant to even so much as try to complain about the ATP.
So if you think that ASUS works slowly to fix things.... THINK AGAIN!!

this is kind of weird and hard to understand how you guys settle with a device that has a lot of design flaws on both hardware and software.

HAHA your funny!!!! I have both sitting right in front of me and I can tell you the galaxy tab doesn't even come close to the performance as our primes. I have to test on both with our applications at work and I cringe every time I pick it up. Even the ipads 1's perform better then that brick.

Are you really recommend Asus Transformer Prime??

Hello everyones!
please help me to find my tablet to buy!!
I'm very very interested with Asus Transformer Prime , but there is some really question about this tablet that really scary!!!
1. how is asus support?? you know , for example samsung is one the best manufacture in the world but it really don't care enough about its costumers, especially in electronics , on the other hand , Apple have very very good support (you can receive update for 3GS even!!!) and its Ipad.
I don't want to buy something that its age over after 6 month!!!
And I don't agree with apple policy on so many things!!!!!
so I want go for asus , but please help me without any preconception!
do you think asus will support its tablet??
2. how is the quality and quantity of programs and games of android for tablets??
it is really important for me!
and i mean now , not 1 year or 6 month latter!!!!
so please help me!
I want Tablet especially for reading and surfing on Internet , so are you recommend This tablet?
especially for reading!
is it support every common formats??
how is reading on that??
thank you so much!
Id highly recommend getting this tablet, i got mine a few weeks ago and i love it. if you do get it, get it with the dock. battery life is amazing on it. i was playing with the tablet non stop for 2 hours last night and it went down to 86% and some of that was gaming.
Android has so so so many apps, seriously there is more than 1 app for everything, you wont be disappointed. i was slightly unsure about making the move to android once and im so glad i did, its a fantastic experience!
Asus support i think is fine, there have been issues with the tablet which they openly admit and seem to be working to fix. ive personally not had any issues with my tablet. Only thing if you start messing with the software they will cancel the warranty..
its great for surfing the web, i tend to use it in portrait mode, the tablet is nice and light to hold, doesnt get hot, screen is fantastic to read.
there is a new transformer coming out towards the end of this year TF700 basically the same as this one, some fixes for wifi by using a plastic strip (i think looks horrible) and a HD screen. The res of this screen is fine for me, higher res screen = worse battery life.
Ive just started getting into reading ebooks on it and its find for that, even sitting in direct sunlight, in outdoor mode you can read no problem.
I did have a couple of issues LCD mura (bright spot on the screen) on 2 tablets, on my 3rd and its fine. so if you get one first thing inspect the screen fully. Amazon were fantastic at taking back the others..
so to sum up, im so glad i got the tablet.
hope this helps!

Thread for problems/failures (not including GPS or WiFi)

I know we're sick to death of the GPS and WiFi issues and I think we're all in agreement that we're stuck with what we have, like it or not. However, I'm seeing a lot of other problems that are getting onesie posts and it seems to me that a general 'problems' thread would move it all into one place - so the 'I don't want to see any negative discussions of the toy I spent $500 on' crowd will only have one thread to avoid in the future.
So allow me to start. Last week I got my GPS dongle and when I attached it, it worked quite well...
However, a few days later, I found that the backside 8MP camera had failed entirely. When I launch the camera app, it hangs for a few minutes, then comes up with a 'preview' image that's the desktop kind of chopped up and shuffled, but in shades of brilliant green.
If I switch to the front (1.3MP) camera, it works correctly.
I've factory reset it. No change.
I've hard factory reset it. Also no change.
I grabbed the last firmware and reflashed that. Still no change.
So I called Asus and they've RMAed it, so it goes back today.
I have no evidence that there's a relationship between the GPS dongle and the camera failure - so, I won't make one other than to note that that was the only thing I've stuck into my Prime in the last week. Could just be a coincidence.
Very frustrating nonetheless. It's like most all the tech I bought around Christmas is failing and going away for a month or more to repair.
Sorry to hear your toys aren't being so fun
The camera thing is a little unsettling. I don't use my tab to take a lot of pics, but I sure would be peeved if it went out. I take it your bootloader is still locked? Were you rooted? Can you get it to work again by putting pressure on the backplate around the camera?

Tried that already... mod closed it. It is really time to sticky the thread mentioned above!!-- that is if the op would update it.

I use mine to video meetings and presentations... it runs for almost an hour per chunk and the battery can record about 8 hours with the dock.
I've not unlocked mine, so it's pure Asus ROM.
I tried pressure to see if I could get the GPS to work (didn't), and now that you've mentioned it - I hope that's not what buggered the camera.. but alas, no - I didn't try that as a fix for the camera.
It's off to Asus RMA limbo now... so I can't check it.

I did read that thread - but it was more for known issues... I was hoping to focus on other less common 'real world' failures and problems... like the camera failing, or someone trying to hang a device on the USB.
Believe me, given how short tempered and touchy some of the people here are to anything even remotely negative, I sat and thought hard about even considering posting this... but the camera failing right after attaching the GPS dongle struck me as kind of important...
Diamondback has not closed this thread and actually referenced it when closing another thread like it. If this is where we can keep a list of known issues, THEN GREAT! Can I get you to add some issues to the list?
Potential issues:
- Sod (sleep of death)- device will not wake up when power button is pressed. (reported more of an issue on firmware prior to .21 but still seen intermittently)
- Browser wait or force close- Web browser seems to offer you the option to wait or force close frequently, wait usually allows the page to load.
- Heavy 3D games crash- Issue seems worse after .21 update, frequent force close and outright crash when playing T3 optimized games, sometimes reboot.
- Camera freeze- when completing a video recording the camera can freeze and ask to FC or just stop responding to any input.
- Input freeze while download/install- issue occurs when installing or downloading in the background where you are unable to press any buttons including the home or back.
- Screen Mura- Many users report dark/light patches in their LCD, this seems to be common and some users are just now noticing the issue.
- Cracked Screen- This is an interesting one, many claiming that the dock is causing it and some have even resorted to creating their own bumpers to prevent the prime's screen from touching the dock. Some have had it crack just by picking up the tablet itself. Some claim it is the pressure of holding it by a corner and cleaning the screen while holding.
- Digitizer inaccuracy- This is the complaint "I can't draw a diagonal line without it going all wavy on me!" It is an actual issue and although there are users reporting settings that allow it to work properly, the default configuration will leave anyone who just opens it up and tries to draw an "X" scratching their heads.
- Device fit/finish issues- Some users report bezel separation and some report that light pressure near the camera increases wifi signal.
- Sound issues- User reports of audio dropping out all together until reboot is performed.
Having 6 primes go through my hands since January from B-C3 serial numbers, I have seen the majority of these issues first hand and can confirm that some devices seem to have more of these than others, but still have yet to find one that suffers from none of these issues.
Having serious issues since .21 with game reboots. Seems I can't play any of the games with heavy graphics to work properly. It's driving me crazy. Do we have any fixes? I'd like to be able to play the games I've spent money on for longer than 10 minutes without the entire game crashing.

I get this issue frequently also, it seems to me that they work better after a fresh reboot. I sometimes launch a game and it will work for about 10 min like you said, then freeze or graphics corruption. I reboot the prime and then it seems to play fine for as long as I want to, but if I start launching other apps before playing the game, it does the same 10 min, then needs reboot. Demandarin said that there was an update coming soon that will address the issue but that was almost a month ago. Have not seen any updates from Gary from asus either?!?!?!?
I would also like to be able to play my games with no issues. WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END?!?!

[MOD][Custom Build Prop] Increase Overall Performance & Battery Life of PRIME
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647357
You will have to be rooted since you will be altering/adding to build.prop. I did read somewhere in the OP about being able to do it even if you are not rooted.
Since I did this mod my Prime is even more responsive and fast. All the games I've had issues with are no longer issues. Or just wait for the update. I here that the fix will be in the coming update as well

Calm down lol. I know everyone is so accustomed to having there updates every week we are somewhat spoiled in a sense. I would rather they take there time then put out a solid update and make sure it actually fixes and have a positive experience from it.

I would like a stable update also, just want my prime to work properly, or at least get us nv flash so I feel good enough about unlocking to flash someone's stable custom rom.

Diamondback told me to post here:
After 5 months of ownership, I regret having dropped so much...
...money on a tablet that Asus clearly didn't give a crap about. For $600, you can get a fast processor, thin and light tablet, bright screen AND:
- an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE touchscreen digitizer (seriously, my kid's Toshiba Thrive 10" (which came out a year or so before) has a gorgeous digitizer, and the TF201 has a piece of junk bottom of the barrel. Touch-Screen Tune Up can't even help it. You cannot make a straight line for your life. you can't make a nice continuous curve at all, it's pathetically low resolution. At first I was frustrated because after I noticed things were crummy, I went to BestBuy to try it on the TF101, Thrive, and Xoom, and the TF101 still had issues, Xoom was ok, and the Thrive was the best. For a product that cost half as much as the TF201, it has an infinitely better digitizer)
- an exposed MicroSD card while in its slot, so it's nice and easy to accidentally bump it and pop it out.
- Nearly Zero accessory availability (they are always out of stock on chargers, cables, whatever)
- An all metal case that does indeed kill radio signals (who was the genius that came up with that one)
Ok, so the main issue is the terrible digitizer. Even when i'm scrolling up and down on a webpage, i see the screen jump every centimeter or so as my finger reaches a new digitizer point. It is a joke. The most important piece of hardware on a TOUCH device is the TOUCHSCREEN and it is easily the worst touchscreen on any touch device i've seen and it happens to be on the most expensive touch device i've ever seen. That's what really ticks me off. If I paid 100 bucks for it I wouldn't care so much since I would expect cheap parts, but for $600 I do not expect cheap parts.
And within a couple months of it's release they already announced the replacement 700 tablet, with the main changes being a higher res screen and a plastic port for radios to communicate. Nice going Asus. Your other products might be solid. You blew it on the TF201. I'd like to see how the 200$ Nexus 7 is with respect to the digitizer. for 1/3 of the price of the TF201, did asus use a crappy digitizer with it too??
My kid's first gen tablet has a top of the line digitizer and the one that cost over half a grand has one that looks like it came off a palm pilot.
/end rant/
ugh... i hate getting ripped of, and i hate incompetence.
Yea there are positive things about the tablet, there is a whole thread about that. But this really upsets me. When you buy flagship and literally state-of-the-art stuff, that's what you expect. Maybe I shouldn't have bought my son's $250 dollar tablet, then i wouldn't have known how badly Asus ripped of their customers on their $600 tablet.

So much for that hope!!.. still no freakin fix with .28!
and I agree, the digitizer is garbage! My wife refuses to take notes on it because of the "diagonal line issue" where you can not get a diagonal line that is actually straight, no matter how hard you try!
