[Q] Make default settings permanent?? and some other - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hello everybody.......
I was already 1 year with my SGA and luv it......
playing with custom rom, kernel, and sometimes do a head to head quadrant battle with my friends......
now, lets just straight to the point right?
i wanna ask, how to "integrate" or make default settings for CM7, I mean.....when I do data+cache wipe, my wallpaper change to default cm7 wallpaper, then how to make my wallpaper doesnt return to default when I do full wipe????well.....not only wallpaper, but latin IME setting, adw customization, etc etc.
and another question.
yesterday, my friend ask me to install cm7 for his xperia x8, and I decided to install miniCM(unofficial CM7.2). after few times comparing, I realize that CM7 for X8 is much better. for example in CM setting===>interface===>statusbar, there's option for centerclock, and scrolling in sub menu is smoother. is this because of update from CM source? or just because X8 have better kernel???
Thanks......any help will apreciated.....

My sister owns a X8. Its awesome. Even better than my Galaxy Ace. I helped her to unlock bootloader, flashed custom kernel and flashed Mini CM7. Furthermore, I overclocked the frequency of the processor until 825MHz. Its now smoother than my Ace!

anyway, back to topic. any thoughts about my 1st question???

I don't know much about cm based roms. In stock the framework-res, SystemUI and Settings apps have "default" wallpapers and settings in their respective /res folders. The default wallpapers only require you to replace the png image, for other settings you need apktool to decompile and edit the required XML files.
It should be similar with cm based roms, you probably have more experience on which app affects the screen you need.

[Q] Question a bout themes

Hi, I´m a proud owner of a Galaxy Ace, it has the stock rom 2.3.4 KPH but I want to apply some themes, at the beginning I did it but the phone won't boot normally and a loop cycle starts. I already flash the device with the same rom (stock 2.3.4 KPH) and I did the deodex to the device. So, finally, my question is, can I apply some themes to the phone without suffer the same issue?
It would be great to have the Meizu theme on my Galaxy Ace, thanks in advance and regards from México.
Did you mount /system?

You're just repeating a general solution without knowing why. Not mounting system will just make the flashing be void and no replacement of the framework files are made. Here, there is a bootloop meaning the theme is not built for 2.3.4/not made for Ace.
He probably flashed a 2.3.3 theme. To |OP| make sure you're flashing a compatible theme.
I already tried with some themes from this forum (for the Ace specifically) indeed, but all of them weren't for the KPF, so, I guess that consegregate is right, those themes that weren't made for the KPF are causing the boot loop issue ? Do you know guys where I can find the Meizu theme for my Ace (KPF)?, I have my phone already deoxeded
Just to answer to myself (and everyone out there with the same question), I have the stock rom (KPH 2.3.4) deodexed and after apply the Meizu for KPN everything goes just fine, no boot loops, so I guess that the deodexed did the magic.
Thanks for your responses
I've trying to deodexing stock ROM 2.3.3 for LG P500 with xUltimate, but during deodex qcnvitems.odex I got fail:
**ERROR DEODEXING qcnvitems.odex** -auto-frame- (14:55:31.98 25.11.2011)
**DELETING PROCESSED FILES** -auto-frame- (14:55:31.98 25.11.2011)
**MAJOR ERROR** -main- (14:55:59.07 25.11.2011)
why can this be?
other files deodexing without problems
if u want easy way download adw launcher and in settings choose get themes
I do not like ADW, I take the Sense. In addition, I want to replace the icons of the status bar

[THEME] UI resources From Blend now open to BL locked users!

Hey guys,I have posted a rom which is called Blend and here is the link to my post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278760
Only BL unlocked users can flash my rom but you may like the UI style of Blend if your BL is still locked.
Therefore,I decided to post the resources from the rom here for anyone who don't want to unlock the bootloader. With these resources you can have a Blend UI for your own rom without unlock your phone's bootloader.
UI resources from Blend:
system/app:
1.MusicWidget.apk
2.widgetdigitalclock.apk
3.widgetonoff.apk
4.datatrafficswitch.apk
5.MediaWidget.apk
6.Home.apk
7.DefaultThemes.apk
system/framework:
1.android.policy.jar
2.framework-res.apk
3.framework.jar
WARNING:
1.You should set the right permissions for those resources when you move them into the system directory!
2.Only 2.3.4 users can use those resources.
3.I'm not responsible if you brick or damage your phone! Just be careful and Good luck!

That was fast!
Thank you!
One thing: I'm using transparent home with 7 home screens. How would the home.apk affect the theme if I use mine instead of yours? Or can you mod yours to incorporate those two mods?

You can just replace my home.apk by yours. It's OK.
Just installed! Works perfect!
Few more questions/request:
I'm guessing I cant add the CRT animation as it would replace the framework-res.apk? How do I change the wallpaper in defaultthemes.apk? And will Track-id widget, call log widget and other SE widgets be themed later? Also, with the Music Widget a separate apk, does this mean I can use other launchers to get the widget or is it somehow attached to SE Home like the previous firmwares? Thanks for all your help!

1.You can open framework-res.apk as .zip format and replace the anim directory to change the animation or you must replace those three apps at the same time.
2.Wallpapers are actually under this dic: system\etc\customization\content\com\sonyericsson\wallpaperpicker\wallpapers
3.Track-id is useless if you have unlocked your phone.
4.You can't use other launchers to run most of the widgets from SE I believe because they are based on SE home and SE framework. However you can have a try.
Thx for your reply.
Jason,
Anyway you could make one for [4.0.A.2.368] because of battery drain issue I had to switch back to that version. I was using your ROM.
can .42fw use this frame?
Hello, i've tried this on .42 with proper permissions and my phone went into bootloop.
From which build are those system files?
An old build, I guess the one before .42
Jason, I know your'e on Miui now, but could you please update this theme to .42?
Would love to use this.

Is it possible if i copy framework-res.apk from stock rom with root explorer????
Sorry,I don't have one.
I'm not a developer so i can't tell you if its possible with copying framework-res.apk
Using a 2.1 framework-res.apk would cause all kinds of problems, including stopping your phone from working.
It is theoretically possible to take the old SE lockscreen from stock 2.1 and put it onto this rom. Essentially you need to take the various smali, xml and png files that define it from the old rom and use them to overwrite the sliding tab files in the new rom.
If you just want the look, you may be better off theming the sliding tab lockscreen with the images from the original.

What if I copy framework-res.apk from sony style v1.1 ROM (2.3.7).... would it also cause any problem??
Sorry I am a noob
Well, you can try but there's a good chance it might not work.
Framework-res.apk contains a whole mess of files that define how your phone's interface works. It controls the layout of various elements and does all kinds of things.
Both rom's use GB and CM7 so that's promising, but you could have a few display issues.
In fact, now that I think about it, you're also going to need the services.jar as well as that's where the lockscreen smali file is kept.
Certainly, give it a try but just be prepared for it to go wrong. Make sure you backup first!
Or, why not try just using SonyStyle instead?

Some Help Needed Please

Hello Guys,
I am thinking about building a basic custom rom for personal use, i know that if i decompile a rom i will be able to go to system/app and find all of the roms apks there.
The default launcher for the rom is Launcher2.apk but i want ADW Launcher(free) do i simply delete launcher2 and add ADW so that it will load as the default launcher when i install the rom or is there a certain step that i am missing ?
Cheers

[Q] How I can set a default theme on CM9? [NOT RESOLVED]

Hello XDA, and my question is: ''How I can set default theme on CM9?'' :good:
In CM7, I modify build.prop and set default theme trought parameters: persist.sys.themeId= & persist.sys.themePackageName=.
But, how in CM9? Doesn't appear this parameters in build.prop of CM9.
HOW!?
PD: How I can set default?... WHEN YOU INSTALL MY CM9 ROM!
Help me, please! :crying:
Thanks! Cheers!
Hey, what can you see if you go to settings, under "interface" tab, go to Themes
Provide any screenshot

No. What I mean is I am finishing up an new ICS ROM. And I want a different theme to boot into DEFAULT the first time it boots without the person to need to select it. Example: Sense4 Theme in Cyanogenmod's theme chooser. Have that one boot as default the first time after initial install of Custom ROM instead of System theme. "WHERE IS THAT SETTING LOCATED!" I Know how to choose a theme in theme chooser.
