i want to know that can we flash a HVGA (480×320) resolution custom rom to a QVGA (320×240) resolution mobile, if all other specs are same??

nope one has twice the pixels as the other if you flash it then ur phone will either not boot or will look disfigured if it does boot
and even if the specs are *exactly* the same you still need custom device drivers and lib files before you can make the rom work

i hv a micromax a50 which is a MT6573 based device & the device hav a QVGA screen, can i take a custom rom made for spice mi350/lenovo a60 (both also hav a MT6573 chipset, but HVGA screen)
can i edit the resolution of the ROM somhow & make it work on my device??

you need custom device files different drivers and you have to make this work with a different kernal

Hi Friends,
After searching high and low to root my Xolo A1000, i came across a method to successfully root it.
Here is the link for where you can find the steps to root XOLO A1000.

Please note that the given tutorial if for XOLO Q800 and uses the scatter file and recovery specifically made for that model. Please use the correct scatter file for XOLO A1000.

when i start the process...by clicking write memory option...should i connect my xolo a1000 before starting the process or after starting the process...its got stuck and i cannot see any proceedings...

Connect ur phone after u start the process..make sure ur ph is off and u have installed the vcom drives for mt6577..in case u dont have the drivers you can easily get them from google..or else let me know

Installed recovery and tried to root.. got stuck in boot ... then got similar rom from omega hd and iq6 .. installed the rom with sp flash ..
now phone is back.. only differnce is boot screen its not xolo logo... and the other rom is much smoother than xolos
Guys found something awesome..... xolo a1000 is a rebranding of omega hd and iq6...
iQ6 has 12 mpx cam and 2 mpx front cam.... but xolo spec and software show only 8mpx and 1.2 front cam..i guess the hardware is 12mpx and 2 mpx
I installed iq6 rom and now cam is 12mpx and has 2mpx front cam
Check android hardware info on ur phone
check the screen shots
Update : i can record video in full hd ......1920 x 1088

Hey friends i have successfully ported a rom based on racer rom on my Karbonn A1 or Zte N721 or Zte Racer or MMX A60 all have same specifications .the base ROM is racers ROM based on CM 7 . If i flashed it as it is it does not boot earlier. Then i used android kitchen porting tool . Now the rom the booting on my device but the issue is that My WiFi, Bluetooth and No service with sim. Idnt understand whats the problem is i guess it is dude to drivers but i dnt know how to change them.I need suggestions so that i can start working further .

u can port roms from micromax canvas a110
bcoz of same processor
and yes u can get kitkat update because canvas a110 is getting a 4.4 update so u can port it to your device

If you can really get an android 4.4 custom roms going for the xtouch X1 I would be truly appreciative to you forever. I'm an X1 user and I cannot find anything about the X1 phones.

Sorry for the massive delay in reply... I was so caught up with other stuff... Dude how is that ROM working out? I managed to root the Xtouch X1 using the latest version of Framaroot.
Right now I wanna change the recovery to something like Clockworks or whatever is compatible with the Mediatek system. Will the ROM you're working on be something like Cyanogen? Stock Android? How stable is everything now?

dude its stable right now only problem is camera for recovery i have one for x1 if you want i can provide it to you its cwm based touch recovery but it has some issue like touch screen is not properly calibrated so for that you have to first use buttons to navigate and then after that you try to use on screen buttons
and for the rom its called MIUI you can visit miui.com to check their videos and awesome features it has

If you want to port sense 5 then I suggest HTC Desire 500 as it has got same chipset and resolution
Otherwise you can choose any device with same resolution of 800x480 as our quattro like Samsung galaxy s3 mini or xperia l or xperia.j
