Hi,
Last week I rooted my Samsung Exhibit 4G, but like any giddy noob I got a bit carried away removing the bloatware and ended up with a soft bricked phone.
For the past three days, I have scoured all of the interwebs to find recovery and flashing options for this phone only to discover that, although its a great piece of hardware, it's been largely ignored by developers. So the one promising lead was here but although I followed every step, all I have now is the "Firmware update fail" screen.
So I'm at the point that I'm ready to throw in the towel and try to return the phone, which is technically still under warranty.
My questions is: what I can expect from T-Mobile if I try to play dumb and return my phone in its current condition. Or would I be better off to send it directly to Samsung?
Any experiences with this or advice would be great.
Thanks!

If you want to exchange it with Tmobile, I'd try to exchange into a different phone then back into the first. Otherwise they'd try to start it up and say you modified it. But if you say you don't like the OS and have a fight about the $50 restocking fee, you can swap into the Lumia 710 then back into the Exhibit a day or so later.
If you soft bricked it, what kind of errors is it doing?

At first, all I could get was the Samsung logo screen after boot. Then I followed the procedure above, but Odin said the flash failed. Since then, my screen will show nothing but a "firmware update failure" no matter what I do.
If I could just get it back to the Samsung screen, I might be able to play dumb but the firmware screen on it now is a dead giveaway I've been tinkering with it.
Bump...
I attached an image of what happened in Odin if anyone is interested in helping me figure out what went wrong with the flash.
BTW, my wife has exactly the same phone. What if I rooted her phone, installed Titanium and created a backup of her system files then downloaded them to my phone?
Would this work? How would I do it? If I can't come up with something soon, I predict my Exhibit is going to become the victim of a SERIOUS accident .
Hey everyone,
So I grabbed a Galaxy S II for my sister for Christmas, and I'd like to prepare it for her. I've already rooted it, unlocked it, and cleared off a bunch of the preinstalled garbage, but there's a couple things I have no idea how to do:
- I'm in Canada, so the phone is a i9100m. That means it gets its updates from Bell/Telus and not Samsung, as I understand it. (Correct?) She lives in Boston, so there's really no need for that. What I'd like to do is switch the phone over to thinking it's an international i9100, so that it gets its updates from Samsung. I understand the phone is hardware-identical to the i9100, so this should be possible, right? Is there any reason that wouldn't be so? What would I have to do?
- This might go along with the previous question: I'd also like to flash her the leaked SGS2 Jelly Bean ROM. However, I'd still like to make sure that she gets updated to the final release when it actually comes out. Is this possible?
Thanks for the help in advance.
Hi Everyone,
My wife and I both have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (on Tesco network in UK). My wife's is exactly as it was when we got them in November 2013 running 4.2. Mine has been updated to 4.3. My update brought its fair share of issues which I was just about living with but last week I bought a bluetooth keyboard as I need to do writing while on the go. Unfortunately 4.3 broke bluetooth keyboards. My Anker connects instantly to my wife's S3 but it does not work on mine. This issue plus poor battery life etc makes me want to go back to 4.2
Is there a simple way to copy the 4.2 rom from my wife's S3 and install it on mine? I don't want to root or do anything remotely risky. I managed to kill my Galaxy Ace by tinkering so I am very reluctant to kill one or both of our S3s.
Can anyone offer a simple, safe solution?
Thanks
Flash stock rom via Odin but read the sticky s first .

You cannot copy a rom without root even if that method would work .
Thanks for the reply. Sorry for being naive but I was really hoping there was an easy way. I am worried about killing our S3s, especially when they are so new.
I will read the linked pages and I might pluck up the courage.
Thanks again

For some reason I restarted my att s3 and its stuck on galaxy s3 page. I been reading alot of this stuff and i think its over my head. I bought the phone used and it has twrp version 2.5 on it. It say it has no OS on it. I wouldnt even mind it in stock form. I use straight talk.If anyone would want to walk me through this it would be greatly appreciated. I live in pa if anyone is nearby. Scared and dont want to ruin this phone.
Hi I am fairly new to rooting in general, at the moment i have a rooted Note edge (SM-n915t) and have had lots of troubles with stuff like xposed. Anyway im getting a new phone soon and was just wondering what would be the best option of the newest android phones to get (which would give me the most freedom to explore what i can do with a rooted phone.) it does not have to be a samsung phone, just as long as its android, doesn't generally have problems (like bootlocking) just something that gets developed on alot .
