[Q] Samsung Extended Battery 2000Mah - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have one of these, but im pretty sure its dying.
i tweak like crazy when it comes to kernel, and just dont think im getting what i should out of it.
Like yesterday, Installed Hydrog3n rom on saturday night, Hardly used my phone (2 hours 26 mins screen time) Battery is down to 36%
No wakelocks, nothing like that
Thinking of using my Anker 1900 and returning my 2000mah and getting a replacement. I suppose it couldnt hurt could it?

Have you checked to see if you're getting comparable drains with your original 1650mAh battery? Or check with your Anker 1900 first.
Have you checked out the 2000mAh forum? Perhaps theres someone on their with the same rom and battery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239719

Yeah. I've put my Anker in. Its on charge. Will see what battery life that gives.
I contacted Handtec (The place i got the battery from in Jan 2012)
They told me to contact Samsung for a Replacement on 0845 7267864 / 0845 67267864

What is the biggest standard size battery for the Blackstone?

I found one on eBay with 1700 mAh are there bigger ones??

uh, 1700mah would really be worth it...
has somebody already tried those?
just curious if there might be risks in getting 350mah extra..dont want to brick my hd ;D
there are no risk in changing the size but if it is a cheaply made battery then something might go wrong.
yeah, thats what I meant..i'm a little bit scared of such batteries unless I got a positive review from someone ;-)
I use the 2600mah battery. Remember this refers to the storage capacity of the battrey, not how much juice it puts into the phone. My battery (from ebay) gives the phone at least twice the life. I use the GPS (tomtom) a fair bit and it makes a big diffrence. Before this I used a large aftermarket battery on my trinity for at least 2 years with no ill effect.
Note: these batteries need a larger back on them which is supplied.
I will eventually buy this 1700 mAh battery in the next weeks and post short review if it's worth the money. Actually there is very little risk to use a aftermaket battery, dasferg is totally right is't just the storage capacity it's practically the same battery with more juice!!
This one don't need a larger back on them!!! It is standard size, and you will
not need a lager back cover!!
Please send a feedback after you have test it
I've also ordered this battery, it should arrive very soon.
Ill make a review aswell
got it yesterday, recharged it to full while being off.
28 hours later its on 99%. Havent used it alot tbh.
20 mins of phone calling, and 40 mins of music.
Why not buy a second 1350 mAh to replace whn the other one is empty?
Here:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23961
for just $4,90.
By the way. I don't think the battery you mentioned really stores 1700mAh.
They just print 1700mAh because it sells and nobody ever checks if it is really true.
I also found a 2500mAh battery, obviously larger than the stock one. It comes with a replacement cover as well, also larger than the normal one, to accommodate the larger battery. I'm planning to buy it tomorrow, I'll test it and let you know how it works.

What a good idea, I'm waiting !!!
as far as ive researched the best battery atm that fits in the original HTC cover is the 1500mAh mugen power..
there are ones like Power Akku that is 1700mAh but arent CE approved or properly tested...
seems to me akku are like a cheap dodgy no name brand which is why i wouldnt recommend it
is it worth the cash for 11% more juice?
Sure, there will be situations where you need to do someting and you curse yourself for not buying another hour of power, but it won't change your charging habits. 33% might, 50% would...
[tho @ £9.95 from blueunplugged.com it wound't hurt to have a bigger one to swap out with]

Just got back home with the new 2500mAh battery. First impression: the device looks bulkier with the larger battery in place and is, obviously, heavier. There is a small advantage here, though, you can stash up to 4 extra microSD's between the area below the battery (sim and microSD slot) and the cover. I'm charging the battery now, I'll stress test it when it reaches 100% and post the results.

The 1700 mAh has about 26% more juice over the 1350 mAh, i won't change my charging habits. But i hope my HD will have juice for a whole day... i'm permanently running Skype in the background an this eating up my battery like mad!
Yesterday evening I turned my HD off and charged the 1700mAh to max.
Turned the phone on again yesterday at midnight.
I've used it alot today by using coreplayer to watch an episode of Sopranos, and like 1 hour of music. Called for like 30 mins. Used MSN for like 3 hours through HSDPA and Opera for about 10 mins. Now, roughly 26hrs later, it's at 70%.
note, I have HSDPA always on.
I bought this and used it for a month now, happy with it, performs like my original HTC battery.
Looks almost identical, but 1500mAh instead. Like to have the 1700mAh, but difficult to justify the price difference!

2000mah battery

I've ordered the non oem "2000mah" battery from ebay... since im in south america it might take a while to reach here, anyone has it? please share your thoughts!
i also buy from ebay this battery, i'm waiting from 2 week, i hope arrived quickly
Same here... I've ordered my 2000ma battery from ebay and I'm still waiting the delivery...
In our italian forum there's already some persons with this battery and from the first information that I've read they've good result.
I'll perform some test once I'll have the new battery
Hi,
I have the 2000mah battery and are very happy with it, but have read some posts from other users that claims that there is no improvement over the original. Not sure exactly how much longer stand by time I get with this battery, but it is a significant improvement from the original battery
Ordered too on 16 January on ebay, but still no arrived..
Battery
It appears to have no more power/longevity over original battery.
To me, the way to stretch battery life is to use a task killer often.
Does anyone know of a charging stand that is available for the Liquid?
I have this battery. I need to test it better but it is worse than original.
I'm going to run a more scientific test today
On the Original Battery, charged to 100%
End All with Advanced Task Manager (cept for some excluded tasks)
Turn on wifi, BT, GPS, brightness on max, using 3G
Media server App on
Swiftp on
Sygic mobile maps turned on
After the phone dies, ill record the time
Then charge up the Extended battery and do the same
So far, cycling the new battery for about a week, it seems to be about the same in capacity as the original
Tests results in
the original lasted pretty much exactly 3.5 hours
the extended lasted 3.5hrs as well
testing charge times now
sigh
have u got the rest of the tests??
mine seems like never arriving!
So really the 200 battery makes no difference?
Dissapointed was thinking of getting one
The thing that seems to drain my battery is the WIFI and web stuff
There is a thing in setup to tell you what has been using the battery but I dont know how accurate it is??
Pete
ok, after a thorough testing, what do you think??
Anybody seen results because it is getting hard to use it with this current battery life

thanks!
I have sign a few posts on the battery from mugen that started that if you want a real change in life that you have to use the 3100mah battery. With out you will see almost 3x the battery life. I'm wanting to try it myself but kinda saving up pennies here and there to buy it.

[Q] Battery ratings and power question

Hey guys, so the battery that came with my G1 (3.7v 1150mAh 4.25Whr) just started randomly shutting off at %50 power, %30 power, basically anytime it felt like going dead and this was after charging it all night. So my buddy grabbed me one from radio shack where he works that is rated at (3.7v 1050mAh 3.9Whr). Now if i am understanding the fact that the HIGHER the "mAh" the better that would mean that this battery is worse than the stock one?? Also one MORE question.. im using Cyanogen 5.0.8 ... WHEN should i wipe the battery stats ?? THANKS in advance for answering my 2 questions
< BuMp > ... anyone ? please? lol
i just bought a G1 with standard used battery, and its not lasting. as soon as i use 3g or wifi battery falls by 10% in 5mins.
i just ordered a new one off ebay 2400mah so by rights that should last day or 2 wwith moderate use? i hope lol
as i understand i think its when the battery is fully charged then wipe the battery status.
i tried both empty then wipe, full then wipe, and hasnt really made any difference.
using juicedefender and using setcpu as made alot of difference while phone is sleeping tho. which helps a lot
based off of what you have said, a 1050 mah battery would do you a lot better than a 1150 mah battery that is faulty. On another note, I just bought 2 1400 mAh batteries off of Amazon and they last me all day running Froyo using everything the phone has to offer. Also check to see if your current battery is swollen...

i threw the old one away... this new one seems to last the day...thanks for the response. Im gonna just wait till Christmas time and see what i phone i want to use my upgrade on...time 2 say goodbye G1 lol
2850mah from ebay, and slow charging it @ 350mah.
Mmmm. Slow charging gives you much more performance from your battery than a regular fast 1A charger.
I bought a yoobao battery that is rated at 2400 mah, works well with heavy wifi and gps usage all throughout the day. Lasts for 24 hours or more, but my g1 looks like a brick

Anker 1900mah battery

After holding off forever on my launch day evo3d and getting sick of having to charge my phone at work and potentially missing a call from the wife in an emergency I decided to buy an anker battery. Holy cow. My tired nearly 2 year old battery was definitely worn. Before I'd get around 1 hour and 45 mins of screen on before I'd have to charge. I'm currently at 1 hour 12 minutes and have 71 percent left. Earlier today I stressed it and got to 2 hours 46 minutes screen on and was at 51 percent. Definite improvement. When ICS first came to our phones I noticed a big improvement over battery life and I've strived to get that back changing ROMs kernels etc. Finally bit the bullet and got a new battery.
Point is: if you are getting poor battery life and you have over a year old battery get a new one. I don't trust most batteries listed but this anker is good in my book. I will keep this thread updated for a while. Once I upgrade this phone will be my 3 year olds phone for playing bowling and other little things that stimulate his growing mind.
Well. Running latest dastin cm10.1 with buttered toast 16.4 at 1188 max iland xondemand I'm getting around 2 hours 50 minutes screen on. Usually around 30 percent at that point. Trying not to drain this battery completely. Either way, happy as hell with my phone battery life now.
Well my phone isn't over 1 year old but I feel the need to have atleast a second battery as a backup for LOOONG trips etc.
Since I tried the bulky battery packs from some friends and I found them terribly unpractical despite what the internet has to say about them, I would only but a battery that fits the stock case but offers bigger capacity than the one that comes from and it won't be a battery that is so bad quality that it's performance will drop in like one week, so I was considering Anker. My question is, is there any -PROVEN- to be better (capacity and quality wise) than Anker even if you have to forget completely the price? I'd be happy to spend a little more on a larger capacity battery that is good quality as far as it fits the stock casing.

Mugen Power batteries are usually considered the premium solution for cell phones and this one that fits the Evo 3D with the stock cover claims to have a little more capacity than the Anker model. I don't have either so I can't really give you any feedback on that, but for $46 on Amazon I think I'd rather go with the Anker two pack and charger for $30 on Amazon or the EC Technology equivalent for $18 on Amazon and pocket the change.
Edit: Here's a review of the Mugen Power battery by an Evo 3D user.

Thanx, this was exactly what I was thinking. Also since the battery is not tested I don't want to do experiemnts with my money for just 50mAh...
I've recently purchased a MugenPower 1950mAh battery for my Evo 3D. I's supposed to be delivered some day in April. I will post the results of the usage as soon as I get it. One thing must be said, it's not a cheap battery. But I just want to forget battery issues on my Evo and enjoy a whole day playing with it!
I've this on (the anker).
I would say it's quite the same perfomance as the original battery.
I got a pack of two vor 10€. Awesome price in my opinion.

Where did you get it so cheap? Send me PM please.
Also looking for replacement battery, as right now I charge 2-3 times a day on the stock 2 yr old batt.. curious about Mugen Batt, but anker seems tested and proven.. for $30 you get 2 batt with charger at amazon.. Hope the Mugen users out there comment about it before i can order the anker for comparison.
Using Ballistic cases, so bulky batt aint no option..
I've been using the Anker 1900 for a 1 1/2 months and it's excellent. I'm running DU 4.2.2 ROM with Mirage kernel. Speeds are set at 384/1188. The stock battery after 2 years would be darn near dead half way through the day with moderate use. This Anker lasts me the entire day with the same usage. I'm on twitter, web, calls, texting, taking pictures, and game here and there. There's been many nights when I plug it in with 30% or so left. I'll take a look tonight and get times, etc and post back.
I got my Anker yesterday evening. 8 AM this morning, i took my phone off charger and 12 hours later I'm on 48%. I'd say my use is moderate. Wifi is always on, mobile network on, lots of calls and some internet browsing. Pretty good for first charge. Oh, and my CPU is OCed to 1836MHz. Guys at Anker really know what they're doing
14 hours on battery with 3.5 hours screen on and still 28% to go
Don't know if anyone's here been using RavPower. I have heard quite a few times these days. Checked on their amazon store and find that their price is cheaper than Anker, what about the quality?
I just picked up the Anker battery for $17 on Amazon. Although capacity rating isn't much higher than stock I find that it definitely holds a charge longer and the drop off isn't nearly as fast. I'm on stock rom with MiRaGe kernel and a light user so I already get good battery life. But for the occasional trip I found that I can't get through the day on a full charge. So the anker give me some improvement without added bulk of a high capacity battery and for the few times I need it I now use the stock battery as a backup. At this price I would recommend picking one up.
In my opinion Thema Anker battery is Worth every Euro, just because does a way better Job than The Stock htc battery. Maybe it was just because my evo is a Bit old, but i Had to Charge it every 8 hours with Stock Rom which should have one of the best battery life. With my Anker its about 20-24 hours with regular usage
Gesendet von meinem HTC EVO 3D X515m mit Tapatalk
I use my phone a lot, sms and facebook.
And I can't really get through a whole day. 10hour, even 4 if me and my gf have a lot of time.
Will this have any improvements on me or just 1hour+ ?
And what about this:
http://www.amazon.com/EC-TECHNOLOGY...599&sr=1-89&keywords=anker+battery+htc+evo+3d
DOnt mind giving 10$ if it will work for atleast a year or maybe half.

[Q] Extended battery issues

My other half's standard battery pretty well gave up so I bought her a Extended Battery With Battery Cover For Samsung Galaxy S3 ( 3500mAH, 3.7V ) and it doesn't seem to have made any difference at all to what she was originally getting out of the standard battery
I was wondering if maybe just putting the battery in and using it like a standard battery isn't correct? Her phone is rooted and running Omega rom.
On the site where I ordered the battery from it says the battery should last up 70 hours but 24 seems to be the go
Any help appreciated

You must have bought a cheap battery. Most of the battery out there are cheap which does not seems to be good. If you really need a good extended battery then go for Zero Lemon.
Buy her a oem extended battery.. It lasts a 3rd longer than stock, has nfc and isnt that much thicker. Plus its original samsung. ^^
