A friend of mine posted a picture of a benchmark he did with his GSII, so I decided to benchmark a couple ROMs.
1st: Venasaur ROM 3.1.0 OCd at 1.5GHz with full battery life. (Switched to an extended battery right after the benchmark so I could charge it.)
2nd: Ineffabilis Deus v1.0 OCd at 1.5 GHz with full battery life.
Getting a few things set up before I make a backup. After that, I'll do a few of the senseless ROMs.
CleanROM de 1.4 no oc or anything
Running Scott's CleanROM Dev Edition 1.4
I'm pretty happy with the result.
Damn mine is terrible. Nils business ics leak 5/2 leak kernel no OC old firmware

1.5GHz isn't OC'd, that's the stock speed.
Here's mine. 1.5GHz, CleanROM DE 1.3, kernel from latest leak.

Ineffabalis Deus Beta... also 1.5 Ghz is how the phone came stock so I wouldn't say that it's overclocked at 1.5 Ghz OP.

I feel like either you have some sttuff running in the background or you have an issue going on.
Open the stock task manager and close what's running and run it.
If it is because something is running, you need to see what's causing that much of a hit on your resources and if it's that important.
If it doesn't improve I'll flash the same setup and see what I get so you can have a baseline.

March leak with Sebastian's 1.836 on BAMF 2.4. All these benchmarks are so imprecise. Really should run at least 5 times and average. These are bests. I'm really looking forward to sense 4.0, probly bored's, but I'm done till the source is released. I don't want to risk any changes as it is pretty much perfect right now. Battery life, radio response and operation all excellent. I will be rocking this phone till I can get something with a stark or better, multiple Gb of RAM (come on LPDDR3) and way over 100 Gb storage. Not to mention 4xHD display.

I have a new 3D and loving it and it's smooth fast and runs all the games an everything awesome. However when it comes to Quadrant, the phone just does not like it. I get about 800-1k quadrants everytime I run it.. I know Quadrant means nothing.. But clearly after reading around I have not seen anyone else with the issue.
I am on HBOOT 1.50 rooted running Myns Warm and the Infected Anthrax kernel. I have wiped and done clean installs about 3-4 times, tried using the stock kernel as well. Wiped Davik an Cache a million times and I still have the issue.
The only reason this bothers me is because of my co worker with the Galaxy S 2 is running circles around me in Quadrant unrooted and its pissing me off. Any suggestions? Help me out
I know how you feel with competing with a gaxaly s2 phone. My dad just got a epic touch. Those are still oddly low quadrant scores. Maybe try switching your setup a lil

I am in the same boat Bro, and guess what. I am also on Hboot 1.5... I am using InfectedROM Eternity with the infectedAnthrax kernel. The odd thing is with quadrant it blasts through all the test with ease except for the 2 & 3d tests. Once it gets to the graphical side of quadrant I can actually see it skipping and jittering all over the place! On the brighter side, the rom and kernel seem to run awesome. So I dunno?
I know! It's not that big of a deal.. lol Just wondering if there is a problem since the scores are unusually low. Thats all...

Only thing I think is funny is that the tmobile gs2 has the same processor as us but benches like it has an exynos. Samsung must have added epicsawse
IF you have multiple CPU mamagement program running (setcpu, cpu mater, system tuner etc..), try only keep one and uninstall the others.
I've never gotten that low, but honestly, on some of the tweaked up "fancy pants" ROM's my Quadrants (and all benchmarks for that matter) were really bad particularly on graphics. I'm running CleanROM 2.8 right now OC'd to 1.7 Ghz max, 384 min, and I get 3300+ Quadrants and on Antutu Benchmark, I beat the Galaxy S2 every time: I get around 6100 on Antutu.
So I think... try a better (more stable) ROM.
Mike
I am on infected Rom Eternity and I have had some really poor quadrants as well. I do not beieve this is a ROM issue so much as a kernel issue, because I flash a new kernel and it runs great. Ive gotten 4500+ quadrants using Eternity (1.4.1) with the Ziggy Dual Core kernal OC's at 1.8.
Even with ZIggy kernal though I have experienced some issues if it is right off of a fresh flash. I went into recovery and wiped cache and dalvik several times, and the problem was solved.
As for the person saying that they were using one of the anthrax kernals....the anthrax kernal forum says that some phones experience issues on quadrant. My phone had some low quads using both mild anthrax and infected anthrax, but never as low as 800. Typically a low quadrant I would get was around 1500.
At any rate, try to wipe cache/dalvik a few times. If it doesnt work, I would suspect it is the anthrax kernal. good luck.
Does anyone have a certain rom set up a certain way that gives smooth scrolling and no stuttering throughout the phones usage? I understand in high performance situations but for day to day things it gets annoying.
I have tried pretty much every rom out there and none of them are as smooth as my girlfriends stock OTA incredible. What gives? For having an extra cpu and more ram so how does the phone struggle to be as smooth as an old phone like the first incredible?

I would post this in the Development section, but I dont have enough posts yet.
Does anyone use an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM that is stable enough to use as a daily driver? I looked through the list but they all seem to be lacking data connection, gps, or some other main function that I need.
Is anyone running one of the ICS Roms as a daily driver?

The only ICS roms having data issues that I am aware of is the ones that are a true AOSP rom, such as CM9. To my knowledge all of the sense based ICS roms are working, with very few bugs, if any. I personally like Joelz desensed ICS rom. He should be updating in within the next couple days. I use it as my daily driver and have zero issues whatsoever.
id say go for clean rom and de-sense it if you want. the only thing keeping me away right now is all of the ugly green in the rom. once a blueish theme comes ill go for it. yes im anal about how my phone looks.

All of the ICS kernels stick at 384mhz or 1512mhz (or whatever max is) at all times, unless you apply the Conservative governor with a CPU control app (like SetCPU).
This causes
a) overheating (some report)
b) terrible battery drain (this is why ICS battery life typically is not as good as GB battery life)
c) great benchmark speed
Even with my extended battery, I'm not interested in this non-standard erratic performance and CPU clock speed situation.
When the kernel source is released, I hope that devs' work on ICS kernels is more stable than their work on GB kernels, too!
Anyway, the above explanation is why I will NOT be jumping to ICS again until a normally functioning kernel is available.
It's not worth it for facial unlock and Chome Beta. and...... yeah I have no idea what else ICS is good for!

I do no not speak ill of other rom's but i highly recomend nil's p business ICS. It's smooth, stable , slightly themed and very well supported.
I have only tried Cleanrom ICS and NIL Business ICS. Both work good for me. Speaker phone works a little better on NILS. Tether, GPS navigation work on NILS. Didn't test GPS on CR but I assume it works. Tether works on CR. Battery is decent on both. They seem just a tad slower than gingerbread for me.
Apex launcher is nice for people that want a more AOSP like launcher.
Be careful of Mainversion if trying to switch back to a gingerbread rom from a ics rom though. If the Mainver is higher than a rom your are trying to switch too, you will have issues. There is a file here on the forums you can flash to set mainver lower before flashing a lower mainver rom I believe.
I'm using CleanRom 3.5. I don't have any notable issues. Tether works fine. Battery life is really good.

Hey guys, I've seen that lots of people have been having confusion between the ICS roms and whatnot.
1. TMOUS ICS LEAK
Stock Sense 3.6 with Ics 4.0.3
2. Android Revolution HD 2.x.x
Same as TMO Leak only with improved performance and battery. There are NO visual changes whatsoever in what I've seen. Completely stock look.
3. Energy ROM build April 27 and forward
Based on TMO Leak. April 27 build is much like Android Rev HD, only with some tweaks put in by NRG. New build that is on the way is themed and has more tweaks. If you haven't used the Energy ROM before, expect a heavily themed ROM just like the earlier GB builds of the ROM.
4. Speed Run 2.x.x
Currently in beta testing. A senseless ROM, with ICS lockscreen and Stock ICS look. If I'm not mistaken, Sense launcher/Rosie is removed and replaced by another launcher, more specifically, Trebuchet or Nova for example, which are built on the Stock ics launcher with more features.
5. RevolutionizedNonSense
Based on ARHD 2.1.0. Similar to Speed Run, with much of Sense removed. Rosie replaced by Apex.
Hope some people can make good use of it

Can someone please post AnTuTu scores of the different versions. I am probably going to flash one of these (Energy probably as I am used to his GB ROM) soon as I am tired of all the TMobile crap, and I need the quick settings that NRG has in his version.
I am currently on stock ICS, rooted with ext4 installed. AnTuTu has given me scores around 6500 (last run was 6558) and I have seen someone on AndroidRev has a score of 6666. If any of these ROMs are significantly faster, I will go with that option. Anyone on Energy, please? I cannot post in the Android Dev section because I have never posted much here. But I am absolutely loving ICS so far, and might even try and get into development since I have a little bit of coding skills.

Not to whore out my rom but.. well wait, I kinda am.
You can add RevolutionizedNonsense to the list- it is based on Android Revolution HD(which has a ton of tweaks you should note on the OP) but has all of the sense removed, and uses aosp(Lockscreen,Browser, mms, gallery, email, calendar, etc) a lot like the speed run does(I just chose a better name )
But so far it has been super smooth, everything works.. and because it was built on top of mike1986's Android Revolution it is snappy as hell, and so far really good on battery life.
Really, I couldn't ask for a better rom unless I made it myself.. which I did.

I can tell you this:
Over the weekend, I swapped from the setup in my sig which is GB to Innefilbis ICS v1.0. I installed exactly the same apps as the original setup & made all the exact same ROM tweaks.
I love the ICS setup but my battery life is A LOT worse now than it was with the old setup.
what kind of screen on time were you getting on GB compared to ICS?

After I s-off'd I flashed the 3.14 RUU and then flashed CleanRom 4.5. I previously ran CleanRom 4.4 with the GB firmware. I'd say my battery life is worse with my current set-up. I've been using Better Battery Stats and Battery Monitor Widget to get a handle on the battery drain. What is annoying to me (meaning I can't figure it out) is that when the phone is "sleeping" my drain in mA bounces all over the place. Previously, I could look at the history in BAttery Monitor Widget and see a pretty straight and flat line <10mA . Now I get 20-400+, for no apparent reason. I've tried both the 3.13 leak kernel and the 3.14 kernel. IF anything the 3.13 may slightly better. I might just reflash the RUU and run it for a while and see how it behaves. We need the OTA to come out with the kernel code ASAP

Interesting...i've reflashed kernels several times but I haven't gone and wiped and reflashed the ROM yet. I'm trying to avoid setting up all my homescreens again.
Did you change your firmware (flashed the leaked RUU) or are you using the GB patch?
I went from stock, unrooted GB to the latest leak. I disabled the bloatware because ICS is cool like that, and my screen off battery drain was way lower. However, if the screen is on and I'm using 4G this beast just kills the battery. The operating system can't help the battery thirsty hardware.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
I've never noticed a difference. 80% of your battery is consumed by the screen, so the only place the OS is going to make a major difference is in how aggressively it controls your screen brightness. Unless there's something really wrong with one or another version of the OS. In theory ICS should offer better battery life by being optimized for dual cores, but the savings is probably not much.
Battery life has always seemed the same for me on GB or ICS. Stock had the worst battery life for sure though.
The really battery hog for me is Sense itself. On ICS or GB I'd be getting anywhere between 8 and 10 hours of battery life on one charge. I tried so many Sense ROMs it made my head hurt. As a last ditch effort, I flashed CleanROM Tapped (sorry if I butchered the name) which is a mostly Senseless ROM with AOSP apps replacing the Sense ones and I'm doing much better.
If you're willing to sacrifice Sense I'd honestly go with a Senseless ROM. That's what I'm having the most luck with.
GB gave me the best battery life on GB firmware. i'm back on a sense 4 rom with latest leak firmware, though, because i think it has better 4g reception in my area....and my battery suffers. my life is about cut in half when i run an ICS rom as opposed to GB, even on GB firmware.
i'd have stuck to GB but the develpment for GB roms sucks since all devs jumped ship to ICS, which IMO kind of sucks, since the battery life is so bad. whatever, i have an extended batt coming my way! lol
I've noticed my dads rezound drains battery significantly faster than my nexus. I think a lot of it is sense. Also the snapdragon s3 is more power hungry than the omap 4460 which is one of the best in power usage. He's now on cleanrom gb edition. I installed juice defender today to see if that helps. Well see what happens. I hope he can get something close to what I get as my battery on my nexus has been great (over 4 hours screen on time). Much better than my incredible.
