i know there's some great and smart guys on android scene and i was wondering maybe someone would be able to forward psfservicemod to samsung galaxy s2?
it has already been developed for quite a few phones...
im absolutely noob in android development so i have no idea wether this would be possible ?
What is it Psfservicemod...

It allows you to enter ps3 factory service mod
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Now their is a pkg for it, install that on ps3 and run it, you will be on factory service mod
EVEN IF YOU FIND THIS FOR SGS2 DON'T TRY THIS ON FIRMWARE ABOVE 3.55 AS YOU WILL BE STUCK ON FACTORY SERVICE MODE FOREVER
EDIT: This is not the correct section for ps3 stuff
try www.ps3hax.net
A bit more detail it allows you to use android phone as a jig for ps3

Hi sahib you can get apk but your ps3 has to be running with cfw already and to get cfw on ps3 you require to get to secice mode if that makes sense you can't install any apks until ps3 is running with custom firmware

What firmware you are on?
Bellow 3.55?
I'm on 4.11 but I've got e3 flasher and I've done everything to downgrade up to the step where you need USB jig to get to the service mode and after searching a while I found that it has been done for Android but unfortunately not for gs2 only htcs....
I don't mind to get one but they all being delivered from Hong Kong its gonna take forever as well as I thought public might like an idea saving ten quid and maximise gs2 capabilities...

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone has heard anything about madden 12 being completely compatible for our phone. I have found apks for it but will not download the additional data it says it needs. Thnx in advance to anyone that replies. Merry christmas everyone

in the market it says it's compatible with i777. if the data won't download try looking for the sd data and downloading it from a PC.
I have the 777 and I can't even find it in the market. If I goto the market website its there buy it won't let me download it it says not compatible. I bought it when I had my captivate and I was pissed when I found out I couldn't put it on my s2
This is the kind of thing the Themes and Apps forum exists for.
Through CM7, the market was able to view my device as compatible and I was able to purchase the app. But it fails when trying to download the SD Data... :-/

Hey Guys,
I'm quite new here and seeking some help!
I recently acquired a Samsung I717M note from bell mobility here in Canada.
I successfully rooted it using odin3 v1.85 and Superuser-3.0.7
Main reason was to hook up my ps3 controllers and play my favorite games.
Setting up the PS3 controllers was a success. I noticed initially after rooting my note things seemed a little sluggish than before, choppy switching home screens and on websites. The unlock screen didn't work smooth and the unit no longer vibrated when i clicked on icons. Honestly, little things like this drive me nuts and I'd rather go back to the unrooted original version. I could care less about the ps3 controllers at this point.
I didn't make a backup rom. I've scoured the net and this forum to find a recent a I717M bell rom with a working link. Does anybody have one available? I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thanks
Royce
I have a bell Rom that already has been rooted with a rooted kernel. You flash with odin.will sent you a link tonight when i get home from work

I'm the proud owner of a Galaxy Note i717 but the limitations of gingerbread are driving me crazy....so the first thing I want to do is root and flash a different ROM problem is I'm without a computer ugh.
I came across a YouTube video showing how to root the other model without using a computer so I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution for the i717 model.
So is it possible to root the i717 galaxy note without a computer?
Help me out here guys any feedback is much appreciated....

I highly discourage trying anything other than what is posted in these threads...since it has been proven to best and most effective why of rooting and flashing...
in other words...You will need a computer and for a safety feature in case you soft brick or hard... you will have a need for a pc...computer.
do you have CWM on your device? like ranger stated below...no need to root to flash...
just my suggestions
You don't need root to flash an ics Rom.

Honestly I would not attempt to flash without a pc handy...due to the saying
"ya never know"
Even though we have the same make/model devices....they are not the same... my GNote may not like a ROM as to yours might...like I trying explaining ... the computer being your safety net if something goes wrong....I would wait or find a friend that you can use a computer, but it is your call, it is your investment.
btw unless someone knows a way to put CWM on the device without a computer....I believe you will need a computer...
Since CWM is a custom kernel, you could flash it from the phone using the Mobile Odin app.
Edit: oops never mind -- you need to be rooted to use Mobile Odin. Sorry for the bad information.
I rooted one phone using the terminal emulator after downloading such and busy box to the SD card. But its harder than climbing Everest without oxygen typing those commands.

So I Bought a Galaxy note (i717) the charger port is messed up on the device. It will charge, but it wont allow any PC connectivity. I have searched google and xda for information how how to root this phone with out a PC (aka using an .apk like framaroot) and I can not find a viable solution. I have tried Z4Root and Framaroot and neither of them work. Do you know of any other ways to root my device with out a pc? If i dont need a Root to Flash Could you point me in the right direction to find that information I haven't put CWM on the device yet because I Cant Root so I cant MobileOdin ect.. you see the picture lol. Is it possible to use an Update.zip file? or use a formatted SDcard to flash it like I did to Flash NookColor1?

Hello all,
I am the proud new owner (first time android owner as well) of a Galaxy S3 SGH-1747, and I am still learning the ins and outs of the phone but so far I am loving this thing.
However, I did run into some issues when I did an install of a ROM AOKP Task & KToonsez ROM. The first major problem is that my computer will now not read my phone, whereas before it was able to register it. I know I have the correct drivers installed and I have the android usb debugging thing box checked in my settings. I have tried several different USB ports now thinking it might be that but they all do not read it. As smooth as this ROM is, it is still in the early stages and there are a lot of bugs and kinks that need to be worked out still so I would like to either switch back to the stock ROM or aim for a more stable one. I am not sure how I can do either of this without a copy of the original touchwiz ROM on there.
Please help me figure this problem out lol.
Flash your nandroid. I'm sure you made one like you're supposed to.

But ever since I installed this ROM my computer stopped reading my phone, it won't even show up on kies either. I am trying right now a factory reset and wipe but it just keeps going back to the same rom.

Ok, one last stupid question for you though. How would I be able to do this if my computer is not reading my phone? I have Odin installed and all that jazz but the phone will not register on the computer. Will Odin still read it even though it's not showing up under my computer?

you being a n00b should really not be flashing right now, as people are losing IMEI's left and right. if i were you id sit right where you are for the time being. play it safe broseph, we wouldn't want your first foray on android to end badly :highfive:
I'm not flashing roms on my s3 yet so I'm not positive but doesn't aosp roms take the Google drivers, not the Samsung ones? I know with the captivate on cm9 I had to install them.

I up and decided I want to jailbreak my ps3 and wanted to know if anyone here knows about it. I have a done some reason and some of what I'm reading says I need to an e3 flasher to do the downgrade necessary to accept custom firmware but I've been reading other sites saying they were able to downgrade without that mod. So what I want to know is can I jailbreak a cech-2001a ps3 slim that is on the latest firmware(4.31) without that piece?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
There's a website that you can look at. I can't remember the name but its like ps3jailbreak or something like that its a forum site like xda and you can go to it with tapatalk. I know mine was unable to be jailbroken even with the e3 flasher, I just happened to have the only model that wasn't possible to do it with any method. Also I'm not sire if there's a jailbreak for the newest firmware yet, my brother said the same people who work on the idevice jailbreaks do the ps3.

I have the first generation of slim ps3 so I'm certain it can be done but that e3 flasher seems to be about the most difficult to use device ever. In every forum I have looked at there is post after post about how the e3 bricked their ps3. I think I'm going to look into buying a stock 3.55 firmware ps3 and jailbreak it. Besides I'll end up spending about the same amount and it will take less time.

Yeah I would just do that, the install for the e3 is very tedious.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using xda premium
Follow the instructions and its not that bad of an install. Problem is finding a legit e3 flasher, there are so many fake ones out there.
Find an e3 flasher without the esata dock and by one seperate. The one that comes with it is crap and you can find a cheaper one thats better.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using xda app-developers app
I still haven't seen a legit one anywhere. People have to rig cardboard and crap to get the thing to fit properly and i think that is what screws everything up. I'll just try to find a 3.55 ps3 and softmod. It.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
why is the e3 flasher needed for if it was possible to jailbreak when geohot made it?
