Sup, I was thinking of buying this phone cuz I have a budget of 100$ to 200$....So I was wondering is this phone LG optimus P500 worth the buy.....I mean doesn't it have any problems or sumthing and howz the support from the company for this phone....
This phone is Ferrari for the poor, go buy it it doesn't have adobe flash and camera flash.

Unfortunately there's no such thing as perfect fone. All of them have bugs, faults and other annoying stuff, so you'll just have to go with a model that you actually need.
O1 is a good phone and doesn't have any major problems.
What I mean is that whether the phone gets spoiled quickly, And I know it's has no camera flash but no adobe flash .....Anyway that's for all help!!!
The lifetime of phone will be pretty good same like the z71 varients.

Optimus One is a great phone and our devs made it even better. It flies like a SGS Galaxy

It´s really a great Android Phone in the mid-class. And with croms you can get a really good phone placed even in the segment of Desire in performance. However, it doesn´t have adobe and camera flash.
I think Qualcomm and Adobe have announced that Flash will be optimized for the MSM7x27, the processor included in our Optimus One, so maybe it will have Flash soon
Yep, it is a great budged phone with pro features.... also there are workarounds for adobe and camera flash....
1) for adobe flash: adobe said that it is working in a optimized version of flash for msm7227 chip (armv6 cpu) that our phone has.. but if you want flash desperately right now you have two browser that can handle it: Skyfire and Puffin (it uses cloud computing to view flash websites)
2) The camera flash: there are plenty pocket flash lights and if you search well you can find a flash light that has better leds than many phones, also there is a accesory that is called Universal camera Phlash
It doesn't have camera flash, but you can easily take pictures for cheating on exams . And someone else said it very well, there are good if not great developers , who have this kind of phone.
Thanks every one for the great advice and one last question....since i like to experiment my phones with a lot of apps and roms.....does this phone have many roms for me to try out with....and don't worry about that thanks

What about the dust getting under the screen problem? Has it been fixed by LG?
Do they just clean it and give you every time or is there any permanent fix for the problem?
you are asking owners of p500 so we will say it's worth And I agree with them
About the dust - cleaning is for free if you have warranty (definetly in EU), but i haven't heard if LG did anything with this issue in newest series
(sorry for my english)
So you mean to say that the problem still exists in the latest phones too?
Also you said that they will clean it. I want to know whether that problem gets fixed after visiting the service center once or should it be taken to the service center time and again to clean it?

Someone said they put somekind of cover underneath the screen at the service center, so the dust doesn't build up anymore. But I don't know for sure. It was posted in the thread about the dust.
Folks, my SGS2 which I bought off ebay has severe voice problems. I think its in the hardware. On bluetooth I am clear, on the wired handsfree I am clear, on speaker phone its ok, its just the mobile mic where other party mostly can't here me. Decided to go for warranty repair and they have agreed to have a look even if I can't produce a receipt.
Now the question; I have tried many ROMS on it and currently its running CyanogenMod (overclocked), I can put the old stock rom in this but would they know I have had different (unofficial) roms before thus invalidating the warranty?
I have heard there is a counter which keeps going up as you flash new rom and a jig can be used to reset it? Is this true? Is jig really required here?
I don't want to keep this phone now, if they accept warranty fault then they will give me replacement which I will ebay and go for new nexus
help will be appreciated.

Warranty void if custom rom installed . Custom rom counter can be on the phone for no other reason .

Yeah a jig will reset the counter, there a couple of pound on ebay, id prefer the s2 over nexus especially when it gets the ics update. Our hardware is superior

So once jigged and reset to 0, applied old firmware and updated to the latest whatever offered by Kies will be as good as a phone which never had any custom rom on it?
Its just the HD screen I am after. Nexus doesn't look to me but HD resolution in that small factor will be brilliant.
Yes as far as im aware it will also give you stock recovery

Fine dont bother but its expensive if they charge you and once again let me repeat that Samsung sent a service bulletin out covering rooting and custom roms and the fact that they invalidate warranty . Since when a custom rom counter has been added .
Yes we already know some service guys have not bothered to check but we also have posts indicating that warranty was refused .
User choice really but anyone that claims it does not matter should be prepared to pay the OPs costs if indeed it does accrue a bill .

Very true. Not worth the risk in my opinion considering a jig is just a few pounds on ebay. Hope there is no trace left one counter reset to 0. btw. my problem is quite common. Its design flaw in the mic which causes muffled voice. What do they do in this case, fix it or replace it? If fix it, how?
I am sure I won't be the first one to go thru this process, many would have gone thru this before me. Would anyone share the experience. How long I need to part from my phone?

Hello,
I am probably going to buy a S3 tomorow,
But i just read that there are something called Sudden death and that chip brick? or if those are the same.
Well basicly i wanted to ask if its safe to buy a S3 or if those are still big risks ? ^
Just wanna know if its recommend and if it doesnt has problems ^^
I probably wont root it nor anything at the start,
First wanna be sure it works properly before ripping the guarantee apart
Probably afterwards i may root and do a cyanogen mod rom on it.
But thats still for the future and doesnt rly matter at the moment ^^
Or if you of course suggest another phone ^^ But i doubt it, I realy think the S3 is the best buy atm for 500 euro,
(Well maybe Nexus4, but you cant find those anywhere in europe lol! or very overpriced.)
Thanks for your time and for being honest ^^
best regards,
DrLuigi!
hi there
there is a search button, you should use it.
there's a big thread about the sudden death in the general section.
cheers
Sudden death is supposed to be fixed by the last (or the one before it) update. I don't know anything about chip brick though, so someone else might educate you on that. If all goes wrong, you can "unroot" your device.
I would suggest to wait for Xperia Z, but that's COMPLETELY (=no pitchforks and torches pls) subjective. The main reason is that Samsung is dev-unfriendly, otherwise everything is "good".
btw just a quick question,
Is there any idea about when Samsung launches 4.2.1? ^^
Sorry for double posting
Best regards,
DrLuigi.

It has been updated since 4.1.2 I believe.
Update your phone straight away. Do it through your phone the update. About 200mb file plus some small updates.
I tried doing the update through Kies and the update failed for some reason and had to swap my phone by getting another new one because it wouldn't turn on. STAY AWAY FROM KIES.

The GS3's got a gpu from 2010, confirmed sudden death issues and it's unconfirmed if they've been fixed, lag everywhere because of touchwiz, dialer and contacts take a year to launch when not in memory. They could be forced to be kept in memory if you want to root and mod to fix what Samsung can't. AOSP roms that perform worse than Windows 98 (also because of Samsung's unwillingness to give us sources)
And that's not even half of it.

Ye i looked on Ebay,
They are like all 560 euro even in the UK,
And those under 500 are 470 euro wich are 8gb versions,
And you cant use MicroSDs so you are stuck on like 6gb ? 4 maybe.
And IF its broken its all that emailing and calling, Then they probably refuse and i gotta start going to LG but they dont wanna accept it due its from the UK and not Belgium so i gotta call UK and ship it to there etc etc.
I pretty much like a real shop instead of starting to buy phones that are this expensive through the internet from a diffrent country tbh.

Hi guys,
I just bought Motorola Razr XT910 GSM and i was looking for simple guide on rooting/installing custom ROMs but with no success.
Infos about my phone are:
System version:
672.180.41.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
Baseband version:
U_04.10.00R
Build number:
6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.6
I was wondering what is the simplest way (step by step guide would be nice) to install leaked OTA 4.1.2 ?
Is that version stable with GSM patch?
Currently i have clean stock ICS 4.0.4 on it. No root no nothing.
Just to mention i'm linux user, if there is a way to root and install 4.1.2 from linux that would be good if not i'll find some windows machine to do that!
Thanks

I recommend Chinese baseband for EU devices. Better radio and battery life

Is anyone else facing this problem , has plagued me since my 2.3.6 days. And since your phone is new, thought I'd ask.
The screen picks up all sorts of mis-correct inputs when pugged into the AC mains, especially noticeable when texting in any app. This happends to a lesser extent when using the USB port. Had this phone for 6 months now. Am using the OG charger of course. Strange one may think but is this a general widespread problem ? This is the only problem holding me back from rooting and getting the JB ball rolling. BTW, had 2 razr's so I have two AC adaptors. Tried both.
If this is a digitizer problem as someone did indicate once somewhere, I'm regret ever having bought this phone. Have had to refrain from using it while charging. And if so, am going to push for a different device. Didn't buy a dysfunctional phone, for sure
Service Center means a LOT of downtime and I cannot even backup app data as I haven't root. Can anyone help me here?
Thanks !
PS :
Here's claims to back me up. If so, has anyone successfully replaced their product ? I wouldn't mind an HD given that I did pay full RRP.
for no reason my Razr will suddenly start going crazy. Random buttons will be pressed on the screen like someone is trying to hack into it (but I know they are not). Because of the random key presses, apps will open and close super fast. The only way to stop it is to power down and power it back up. Which after I do that, it's fine

Researched the issue months ago and learned there seems to be an issue with the digitizer (that's the piece of glass and components that identify your swipes). I thought it was only with certain earlier versions of the Droid, so am disappointed to hear you're having trouble with the Razr. Some folks have reported sending it back to Motorola, and $200 later, it's fixed. While early sufferers were Motorola users, I just read a post where someone is having the same issue with an HTC Eris...
I suggest returning your phone for a new one

Well, I bought my phone in the month of May '12

I wouldn't mind an HD given that I did pay full RRP.
and another

I had same issue when i plug it in wall cord, i cant click on anything precise, its the charger, i use one that came with my nexus 7 and have no trouble using phone while charging. I didnt test it on USB port, but im sure its charger problem. Try another charger!
I havent bought my phone new, its used one but in perfect condition!
Also i should have mention that i had same problem with Galaxy I7500 (first samsung galaxy device, not the tablet its phone) couple years ago and also with Galaxy S3 (my brothers phone). Same problems occured when using some chargers. Try swaping chareges until you find one that fits
Maybe i'm wrong but thats what helped me.

Same with me. Ditched the moto charger and I use a Blackberry charger. Never had a repeat of the issue again, and it used to happen a lot on the Motorola charger.
What is "BP TOOLS" and where can i find that ??
<EDIT> Got it, never mind </EDIT>

Could it be a grounds issue?

I hope not. Don't see why a 5.2V device needs grounding. And if anything .. the screen is glass.. It's capacitive in nature to a small extent. Built up charge should not do what it does. The USB off my MSI mobo and ASUS is filtered and grounded.. Even they do this to an admittedly lower frequency.
The Moto charger puts out a healthy 1A if I'm not mistaken. Not trading that in for some POS BB charger- It's 800mAh the one lying around at a lower 5V rating. That's going to mess things up in the long run-- higher voltage and amperage charging is faster and gets to the full capacity of the battery- the voltage has a say when it comes to lithium batteries.
Anyone here get a replacement from Moto if they had the same issue? Does you think its worth a try?
Thanks for the replies:good:
I had a Milestone (a GSM variant of the Droid) and it had the very same issue. However, it had a metal frame - upon touching it the issue was instantly alleviated.
Sent using a touch screen
Napisane na ekranie dotykowym
So this works out to an inherent flaw with this screen? I had a SAMOLED on my OG Wave and it never messed up {ever} must have been the metal body. Nevertheless, The razr is FUBAR when charging. Had an S2 for a while, never cropped up despite having a similar screen panel. Think I should just file a complaint and get the ball rolling here? Though service (Moto) is terrible in my country, and I don't think they've even launched the Razr HD here. I'd rather pick it over the S3.
WIshful thinking!
