I bought a One S, and love how blacks look. Also, from what I read, AMOLED screens save battery on black backgrounds. I was wondering how do I go about inverting apps or if maybe someone knows where to get these with inverted colors (black background, white text)
Facebook,
Engadget
Dropbox
PlayStore
I know for Facebook you can use an app called Friendcaster. I use it. It allows you to select various color schemes, at least one of which has a black background. I personally think it is better overall than the official Facebook app.
Not sure about the other apps though.

I've been looking for ways to boost my battery life. After getting some Tasker profiles set up to do this, one thing I've been focusing on is the screen since the AMOLEDs don't use any energy for black areas of the display. I use LP with a solid black background, and very minimal clock on my homescreen, widgets are on a screen to the left, apps I frequently use are on a screen the right, but my homescreen is almost entirely black. I also have Bionix 1.3 which has a nice, mostly black theme, and the new JAC kernel, so it's hard to say what the respective gain in battery for each change I've made is, but my battery has only dropped 30% after been unplugged for 13 hours, and which included a fair amount of use.
I was looking around for a way to invert the browser colors, so that text within the browser would be white on a black background (low energy cost) instead of black text on a white background (high energy cost). It turns out this is a feature in CM6 (browser invert color), so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where I'd have to look to try to do the exact same thing, while I wait patiently for CM6.1 to be released for the Vibrant. I know there was black theme for the Droid which even modded the Gmail app to be white on black, but given how much more I use the browser, I'd just be happy if I just got that.
If there's another way to go about doing this, by all means, let me know. I looked around for a theme for Dolphin HD but I couldn't find a way to do it with that either. I'm fairly comfortable with the command line, and if it's just a manner of editing a XML file or something, I'm sure I could manage that, I just don't know where to look, and I kind of just don't want to start editing config files on my phone without really knowing what I'm doing. Thanks.
My understanding is colors displayed on websites are property of the website and not the browser. I am sure you have seen black themed websites in the existing browser. I can be wrong though.

I'm interested to know too. But just like what the guy above said, it's probably on the server side.

I want third ability so bad. White chews the battery and I hate having white on my screen which is all the time when I am web browsing. And frankly that sucks

If you're looking to increase your battery I highly recommend Juice Defender (ultimate), increased by batter life 1.8x.
juice defender its worthless as you lose functionality to gain battery that's not acceptable when having a browser with invert colors loses no functionality for the same our close battery life gain

You might be right, I'm not really sure. I do know that there is a common function for inverting the browser colors in the existing CM 6.0 releases. And if it can be done across the board in CM6, maybe there's a way to get working on the Vibrant. That's all I'm trying to figure out...well, that or another way to accomplish the same thing. I could understand if the way it is implemented in CM6 is a FroYo only thing, but if it isn't, we should be able to do that on the vibrant.

You can accomplish pretty much anything juice defender does with tasker instead.
No Steel had this option for like one version, night mode i believe it was called. It inverted text and bc color.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!

Funny, I have the same setup
There must be a way to get the websites inverted, I had the Samsung Wave for a week and it HAD that option. I am also desperately looking for some solution for the Galaxy S (same as Vibrant?).
It drives me nuts that for example applications like the GMAIL one, do use black text on white background! WTF? We want to use the amoled properties!
Looking for a solution...
Cheers
I got in touch with the DolphinHD team, and feedback looks promising. Probably I will write the add-on myself so stay tuned!
I'm not having any luck with the hacked ones for the evo. Fc city. I liked the black kb with the blue highlight when you touched the keys.
This happened with my old evo too. The stock is kinda blinding at night in a dark environment. How about white letters, black background.
Merged the duplicate thread and posts
The two requests were for two different things. The second one merged was for an inverted sms/mms stock app.

Inverted how? If you are talking colors just get Handcent and mess with the settings (Android based, Dark themed)
I know about handcent. Only reason I would want stock is because its a much smaller app than handcent or chomp. Thank you for the suggestion though. Inverted meaning white text and black background. There are alternatives and modded stock and aosp out there but you need root for most of all the cool stuff.

Much smaller meaning the size of the apps? Like how many MB they are? I think with the shift especially, the size of the texting app (going from stock to handcent or chomp) wont matter. But to each their own...and I'm not completely sure but with all of the moving apps to sd cards these days I would say size is one of the only things that wouldn't be an issue.
Anyways, good luck, cant wait for the root so we can get all that cool stuff!
Is there a way to change the color of the white area at the bottom of the X2 home screen?
I've got a predomantly black graphic that the white is clashing with. This white (or light gray) seems to be carrying over into other apps as well, and I'd prefer it to be black.
For that matter, I'd like to make the top notification area black as well.

Pick up a new launcher such as Launcher Pro or ADW. They are both available in the market for free. I love launcher pro!

Oh and to answer your question, no there isn't a way to make the fog disappear without a custom launcher. You can always switch back but I doubt you'll want to.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Yeah, move over to Launcher Pro or ADW. If you want to be able to really customize, you'll have to pay for the custom launcher... but really, those launchers are quite awesome and well worth the money. After testing both, I went with ADW Ex.
OK,
I think we all realize us X2 are owners are few.
As such, we have less themes and less ROMs to choose from. Since we dont have 50 people making themes for 26 different ROMS, I figured it best to hone in on what people would want to see.
I am not saying I am going to make one (I just might though) but, one of the three of us.. there are three themers right? Me, Funkencool and MuffStuff? Just might.
So, now is you chance to say what you would like to see in a theme.
Colors, backgrounds, apps themed, whats included, etc..
I'll give you an example.... (although this is not a request by me)
Transparent backgrounds, Neon blue images. Blue matching text colors, maybe change the lock slider on the lockscreen. I use the internet, xda app, music and calendar the most so those would be cool to be themed as well.
Now toss out some ideas so the few of us that do it can make something a lot of people can enjoy!
As a sidenote, dont know about anyone else but, if I make it, it will be for the Eclipse ROM.
PORT OF THAT FIRE THEME THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THAT IS OUT FOR THE DROID 1 PROJECT ELITE ROM. YESPLZ KTHNXBYE

I want it looking like my Xoom again!
Guys, I cant just grab someone elses work. Yo would need the author to port it over for you.
I don't know what else Funk or Muff has done for other phones. Me personally, for the D1 I have made themes in the color of... Chrome, Blue, Red, Orange and Pink.
What the main thing was here was to make a new theme based off the ideas from you guys.
Choose a color, choose icons, choose details, etc... Be as specific as possible. solid color, glow, fade, etc.. it can be as simple or as complicated as the two images I am about to post up.
I also just learned something new trying to make that funky looking image.. im stoked!
Something with just the basic necessities in it, with an orange theme..
Orange would be the easiest since I have it about 90% done...lol

I'm on board and I like you example(as an example) it would be nice if we could just get a good clear view of what you guys want in a theme. Especially apps because I've been wanting to get started on some.. just not sure what exactly.
Personally(and this isn't an example) I most often use ShapeWriter and the stock moto keyboard, dolphin mini, forum apps(xda, rootz), gapps (especially voice and gmail), stock messaging(eclipse's), and Mort player for my music. those are at least the ones I like to look good the most, but really most of mine are themed or themeable.
PS i also would rather just do something original than port an already existing one.

I am interesred in themes that match. I am currently running eclipse 4 with blue blur 1.3. This has probably been my lobgest running setup. I use adw ex with i2 theme icons (mostly because there are over 1000 themed and its free). I also use widget locker as well, so lock screen isnt important to me. I use most of the basic apps but almost no widgets anymore cuz they dont match or burn battery faster. I really just want it all to look the same. I love tapatalk app cuz it will use system colors to match. Wish all apps have this ability. Would make changing themes so much faster and easier for you guys. As for colors i like blue, black, grey, and green. Not all together but not all one either. Two tone cars look great right? I think two tone droids are sweet as well. I have all the tools to get the job done just need more practice with them. I have only ever been successful with the droid 1, was so much easier with no bootloader so if i messed it up. Starting over was quick.

rusty.. that.. is a detailed post. thank you!
Theming the X2 is almost exactly like the D1. You just have to get the basics down with the dependencies and such. I just bought this phone 2 weeks ago (I think) so, you can see, its just a quick bit of getting the feel for it down. THe only real thing I dont like is that I have to plug my phone into the wall charger to get into recovery. I liked being able to just do that on the fly with the D1.
It looks to me though, from what you said, you really like the Blue Ice Cream theme but wish there were more widgets. You would also like to see some of that blue two-toned. You mean like a fade I am assuming?
Google apps have always been great, and with ICS, they have become even better. However, they usually tend to feature light, predominantly white backgrounds. While that may be fine for many and easier on the eyes for most, some prefer apps in black. Let’s face it: Who doesn’t like black? If you are a Google Voice user, you can now have your favorite calling, texting, and voicemail app in a predominantly black theme courtesy of XDA Senior Member MattJ951.
Regardless of whether it is for mere aesthetics or to economize on your battery for those extra hours of playing Temple Run, you can grab the black version of Google Voice by heading over to the application thread. Once downloaded, just install the APK using any file manager and enjoy Google Voice in black. Note that you must be using Ice Cream Sandwich or later in order to use it.
I think battery lasts longer with whites on the amaze, but I may be wrong. Either way... black does look nicer
