Trident cases - ETA June 22 - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

According to Trident's Facebook page, Aegis, Cyclops and Kraken AMS cases currently have an approximate ETA of June 22nd. The built-in kickstand will be accessible on the Aegis and Cyclops cases, Kraken will have its own kickstand.
After trying Otterbox Defender/Commuter, Trident Aegis/Kraken, Ballistic HC/SG and Case-Mate Tough I still think that the Cyclops was the best case for Evo 3D due to simple and effective design, quality materials and balance of protection and bulk. Definitely looking forward to the EvoLTE Trident cases.

Trident coming out in august:) kraken

Trident confirmed in August there will be a kraken case along with a aegis case for the EVO 3d no holsters tho. They will make some along with my skins. Holster for the kraken from the og EVO might work for the EVO 3d kraken case
Email Trident and tell them to RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!
Sorry.

Ha ha they confirmed it for August .
can someone post a quick comparison of this versus the ballistic HC? I am new to these tough cases and wanna pick one that will be the best overall for EVERYTHING
I don't have an official review. But, I've found the Ballistic to be the best for absorbing shocks, drops, falls, etc. That is assuming that you use the optional outer layer of the Ballistic.
The Kraken I is splash proof which gives it that little edge. The Kraken II which I believe is what they will be initially making for the Evo 3D is tough, but I do not believe it is splash proof, but I am not sure, I will email them regarding this.

[Q] Case-Mate Tough vs. Otterbox Commuter

Which one is better in terms of:
protection against drops
durability
No guesses, only experience please.
I use a black CaseMate and I have no problem at all....I use it for 6-7 months and it looks as new......and it fits perfect on my phone and the protection is very good....and in my oppinion it is much more stylish than Otterbox Commuter.
hmm thanks,
the only difference seems the thick silicone layer at the corners instead of a closed hard cover all around.
I guess it is better to have silicone at the corners to reduce shock but in the long term it will deform faster, what do you think?
Case-Mate
Im loving my Otterbox !!!
hmm I guess I'm liking the looks of Case-Mate Tough more than Otterbox.
buut will it protect well?
I was looking at both the Case Mate Tough Case and the Otterbox Commuter. I ended up going for the Commuter because I think it has better protection. From what I've read on here the Commuter is a bit thicker (more protective) and it's hard shell is made from Polycarbonate which is better than ABS for high impact resistance, which is why PC is usually used in protective gear. It's more expensive than ABS, and the Tough Case and Commuter are in the same price range...so I went Commuter. Happy with the decision so far.

When to expect Trident cases..

I e-mailed Trident to find out when to expect their cases to be released for the ltevo and I thought I'd share what they told me in case anyone else was interested.
" Our cases for the HTC EVO 4G LTE should be available sometime at the end of this month or early August. So, your best bet is to check our website periodically from time to time and when this case does debut, you will see it be made available right away on our website."
I really liked the Trident Aegis on my old Epic Touch. Hopefully this one doesn't disappoint either.
Sent from my HTC Evo LTE
I ordered the Cyclops case on cyclopscase.com for 25.49 using a 15% off promo code. They said they should have it in stock on the 16 of this month but who knows.
For ~25 I think the Cyclops case is a good deal. AFAIK the Cyclops cases go for 39.99 on the trident website. Hopefully this Cyclops case doesnt add much bulk. I had the Aegis on my 3d and it's a very good case. Let's see how the Cyclops compares to it. I'm aware that the cyclops cases add a little more bulk than the aegis cases but with my LTEVO being really thing and feeling fragile in my hands I feel like it may take some major damage if I happen to drop it... even with the otterbox commuter case I currently have on it!

PureGear LG G3 Case with Kickstand and Holster

I'm always on the lookout for a good kickstand case that isn't too bulky, and I like the PureGear ones since they are fairly thin and have a good grippy texture. Just ordered one from here:

Video demo of the case from the seller here:

Coupon code: youtube for 10% off
I usually go with the Seidio holster (~$25) with a cheap TPU case. I've done this 5 times and haven't been disappointed yet.
Unless there's another phone the same dimensions, I guess I'll have to wait for the holster: http://www.seidioonline.com/LG-G3-s/9359.htm

Confused - Case Selection Nexus 6 vs Droid Turbo

Why the heck is Otterbox bringing out a "droid turbo" case and yet refusing to bring out one for the Nexus 6? The droid turbo is available on a single carrier and yet the "nexus 6" case will be available EVERYWHERE. This is maddening to me as an otterbox fan.
No one will have the Nexus till end of November.
I am a fan of the Otterbox Commuter cases, but since they never made one for either the Nexus 4 or Nexus 5, i found that the Seidio Dilex cases are a decent similar case.
For now, I pre-ordered the Spigen Perfect-Fit Slim case on Amazon. Can't go wrong temporarily for $6.99
Because **** Otterbox.

good suggestion on the Spigen case, thanks.
Otterbox actually are the only ones at least considering a properly rugged case for the Nexus 6:
- Trident told me they didn't plan anything for now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/trident-nexus-6-t2914632
- Ballistic doesn't plan anything for now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/ballistic-case-nexus-6-t2912528
- Ringke MAX generally has some level of dust covers, but seems flimsy in front of an Otterbox Commuter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/rearth-ringke-nexus-6-t2912914
- Spigen will at most sell a Thin Armor (without dust covers - only the Tough Armor would have those, and would be too big for this phone anyway, imho): http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/spigen-case-t2908133
- Rhinoshield may plan what'd be the best bumper case, but it'd be just that: a bumper case, without back protection, nor even dust covers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/rhinoshield-crash-guard-t2916820
So, well: meanwhile, Otterbox hasn't said no yet. I know there's a grudge between Nexus lovers and Otterbox, seeing as they failed to offer any case for the last two models, but still. They at least are considering it for the Nexus 6, and would immediately become the best rugged option, should they offer at least a Commuter case (I for one don't care about grudges and things like that: I'm only interested in products doing the job I'm after, and seeing the feelers until now, a Commuter case still would do the best job at rugging the Nexus 6, and still is a possibility).
I thus see little reason for complaining for now. And if you want to press them into releasing something, you can either try their FB page (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152540885098003&id=54145863002&refid=17) or their g+ page (https://plus.google.com/+otterbox/posts/Muatr3oF7Hx). Seems you've already done it on their g+ page, but giving the link for others can't hurt.
Also, there's already a thread about Otterbox for the Nexus 6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/nexus-6-otterbox-request-t2907452
