2.3 working GPS?

Hi everyone,
I can't quite understand, is there a 2.3 rom for vibrant with a completely working gps?
As far as I can see all 2.3 roms for vibrant are either MIUI based or CM7 roms, is that correct? Is either one of those have working GPS?
Thanks alot!
Not all gb roms are based on cm7, look for roms with jvr jvq jvp in the title, they're samsung based...
No, gb roms do not have good gps yet, its halfassed on all of em
Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
GPS is screwed up for me but I only care about Google+ and Google Navigation, and they work perfectly in the latest CM7 Nightly. Unfortunately, third party GPS apps don't get a lock surprisingly...
ok just wanted to straighten this up really quick.
Miui and trigger 2.3 are CM7 based
JVP/JVR/JVQ are Samsung based, built off the I9000 gingerbread release I believe.
the gps works fine for the most part if you boot the phone with gps enabled.
i run miui and experience quick locks and actually very good accuracy using the 1.4 GPS fix for CM7 based roms found under the development section.
only downside is and this is with both samsung and CM7 based roms, you have to enable gps and reboot with it enabled to get the drivers to function correctly. until (if ever) Samsung releases gingerbread for the non 4G Vibrant we will never have fully functioning gps on 2.3
Or you can use an external bluetooth gps receiver, it will work fine, if not better.

[Q] Which Sense 4.0 roms work with Chads new kernel

On the infected forum he states that it works with Joelz new Rom but WiFi Bluetooth and data are borked for me. Im pretty sure people were talking how most things were working besides camera. I flashed the kernel over the BAMF Rom so I don't know if this was the compatibile one.
I don't think any sense 4.0 rom has wifi working.
Unfortunately currently no sense 4.0 rom having wifi, data and camera working..

Apart from every single GSM Sense 4.0 ROM (bar the camera).

for those having problems with VM ICS ROMS 3.6 picturemail and call drops or delays

I did the firmware update and then flashed the ics vm 3.6 Rom. I can't send pictures, calls take around 30 to a min to connect and when they connect they won't last long. So I then flashed back to mean Rom and everything works great. That made me think that is not the firmware update but a problem with the vm Rom . So I flashed every new ics vm Rom and all gave me the same problem. Today I flashed booster shot rc2 and it send pictures and calls get connected instantly and won't drip calls. I already tested GPS it works great . So far the only problem on booster shot rim is google movies app so I uninstalled and SU won't el but I went to the SU app and change it to allways allow.
I just wanted to post something that help me use resolve picturemail and calls. Maybe a dev can take a look at the vm Rom and at the booster shot Rom. Might find why vm ics Rom is having problems or is just my phone that likes booster shot Rom. hope this help
I too flashed all the ics roms that have came out and so far all my issues have been resolved since I have switched to Booster Rom.
I have flashed 2 vm roms without touching firmware and have zero issues with the exception of the phantom voice mail. Everything works great and battery life was greatly improved

In the dev. section, chad.goodman/HTCFlyer/others are working on a way to roll back that firmware update. It's been causing all the problems. (From my understanding)

Might be a no go for Verizon uses, I will know more when lunch time rolls around.
Decided to go back to another Sense 5 ROM. Didn't get signal with Verizon. But was connected via WiFi and I was unable to update some of the preinstalled apps via the Play Store. Updates failed to install.
It booted fine on my Verizon , although data is kinda weird, it works but then drops to zero when trying to send a mms , also in the status bar shows I have lte but it has no bars, camera force closes.. Front and rear facing. I liked the the rom , hopefully it can be fixed for big red.

I'm a Verizon user works smoothly on my DNA used phone info app to change settings to CDMA + LTE/Evo auto. Everything works except text/mms. Is it possible to make a patch and on every reboot you need to redo the settings

Which default is the rom set to, GSM or CDMA? I'm a GSM user on ATT and prefer not to have anything Verizon related. Is there a ROM that is GSM only and works for the DNA?

Thanks bud, giving it a try once I S-OFF the phone. Almost done. :good:
Note: Virtuous DNA+ v.2.0.0 rom is GSM only. It's old, but that was basically what I was looking to know. Anyway, thanks again.

just reporting to let you know guys I installed this and its working fine overall. It is a little choppy on the interface and it gets hot sometimes. However, no FCs of any kind. Maybe it still lacks a little bit of tweaking? or is the Kernel the culprit here?

[Q] Which M7 ROMs Have WiFi Calling?

I realize this continues to be asked, but I couldn't find a recent answer. I would like to get rid of Sense and replace with a more vanilla ROM, but need WiFi calling. Right now, I'm running stock rooted 4.4.3 on a TMOUS branded device.
Unfortunately only Sense-based ROMs will have T-Mobile WiFi calling. The older ARHD 31.6 ROM has it, but if you want Sense 6 and the latest 4.4.3 Android, you'll have to look elsewhere. I am running SkyDragon 7.0.1, and there is a newer version of that out (9.0) now. It seems to be pretty solid, although a little slower than stock (for me, at least; I need to update).
Thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-sd-4-0-6-07-1540-1-4-4-3-sense-6-t2852898
For those TMOUS customers with crappy signal at home OR at work, you can get a T-Mobile cell-fi signal booster.
http://slickdeals.net/f/7218530-t-mobile-cell-fi-singal-booster-and-asus-router-no-deposit?
You won't find T-Mobile WiFi calling on any vanilla based ROM, and that's because there is specific code programmed into the Sense framework. There are substitutes, however, like Vonage and GrooVeIP, but they are not as integrated as T-Mobile's.
You'll have to go with a Sense based ROM if you want the feature. I highly recommend installing ARHD 81.0 and apply this addon for T-Mobile WiFi calling.
InsertCoin ROMs have always had wifi calling (and it works very well, as it's my daily driver). I see that the new SkyDragon ROM says it supports it also. And deathdeala's flashable zip package will add it onto ARHD.
I've been using skydragon v9 for several days now. The Rom and WiFi calling work good so far.
