In case of emergency charge a dead battery. - HTC Rezound

If this hasn't happened to you yet., and it's going to happen to you later. You have been messing with your phone without looking at your battery levels and mid rom flash you are out of juice, your phone won't charge. The charger appears to be working but the phone just won't charge.
I used to have a droid x and you have to use a special tool by Motorola to change the os on it. It requires you to be plugged in but sometimes won't charge your phone. Mid update my phone ran out of juice, I had a spare battery but the phone wouldn't turn on or charge. After many desperate appempts I found a fairly easy solution.
The trick is you find any usb cable you don't want.. You strip the end with the adapted part of the usb.. You cut the green and yellow wires.. You put the black wire on the negative terminals and the red wire on the positive terminals
This should give your battery enough energy to start itself up if you hold the wire on the terminals for a minute.. Although I'm not sure if this damages the battery.. I would only use this in case of an emergency,

What..... Or should I say que?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium

Or you could get a cheap $3 wall charger from amazon or ebay (the type that holds the battery not the cable).

Did the same with my droid 2 global
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2

Or use Amon Ra recovery... it will actually charge a fully dead battery.
Clockwork MOD has issues charging a completely dead battery.

This is for a situation where you need it charged at that moment.. Not wait 1 week for a charger.. Most people know about the chargers, but shipping is nothing near instant

yep, have 8 extended batteries right now. Don't think I'm running out of juice!

What if you could wire the batteries together is some way to make a 1 week shoe box sized battery. That would be worth buying... If you wanted to carry it around
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium

They already make these "brick" charging devices. Not a shoe box, just a large battery that can charge your phone multiple times before it needs to be recharged. Pretty sure I have seen a 8000mah and higher.

Battery easy to change and replace?

I do this with my phone. I have around 4 batteries and I have battery only charger. So I just replace the batteries when it runs out. Can I do the same?

lol no !

For those with "BATTERY LIFE" problems

For those that are always looking for more battery life and do not mind carrying a extra piece of hardware. I have recently purchased the Anker2 external battery found at this link: http://www.amazon.com/8400mAh-Exter...PRQ4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1328040410&sr=8-2
This lasted me on a 12 hour+ trip with juice to spare. its relatively small and can fit in a pocket of small bag. Just putting it out there for the community as an option.
Great Recommendation
This definitely is a great recommendation. I bought it last week and have been using it. Love the battery charger. Better investment than spare batteries out there.
Thanks for the heads up!
Thought it's great for my upcoming trip! Having to carry the cable around is a bummer, but better than constantly opening the battery door I guess!
Has anyone here bought the 2000mAh Extended batteries?
How long do they run for??

[Q]Amaze bricked?

Alright guys first of all f**k. OK so last night I left my phone off charge and when I woke up this morning it just wouldn't turn on and when I would plug it into the charger the orange led would be solid then flash then off. So honestly I think its the battery but I'm wondering your thoughts
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
This happened to me before. Some say that you need a newer recovery, some of the older custom recoveries won't charge on a zero charge battery.
But here's how you fix it; find a friend with the same battery (you know, with an amaze or a sensation) and put your battery in their phone for a little while to charge. Once you can get your phone booted you'll be fine.

As much as you flash and develop I figured you'd have more external chargers and batteries than I do!(2 external chargers and 7 batteries!)
But yea, I'll bet you it is just the battery even if you have the right recovery.. so many little things can go wrong with the batteries, look at the little plastic tabs in between the contacts on the battery(look at pic below), if they start to bend you have to break them off - they can make the phone think the battery is overheating until you break off the plastic, and it won't charge..

[Q] HTC Amaze won't charge once battery fully dies

Hello everyone
I have an HTC Amaze (bought it about six months ago) that won't charge at all - once the battery fully dies, it will not charge again and I know this isn't a charger related problem because once I insert my brother's phone battery (he has the same phone) into my phone it will work and it will charge (until it dies). I bought a new battery the first time it happened but the same thing happened once the battery fully ran out - it wouldn't charge again. Can someone tell me if this is a handset related problem or what?
Oh and I've tried charging it with multiple chargers, including connecting it via USB to a laptop. Nada.

Basically take off your back cover and clean the golden connectors. Use soap lightly or rubbing alcohol or something. It should work. Also, clean the battery connectors and make sure it's DRY.

You may need to use an external charger to charge it. The battery is probably going bad. This happened to me last night. I took it out and put it in my anker charger, and now is charging again.

[Q] Phone not turning on after over voltage

Hello,
Recently I was trying to make my own charging cord. I found some old charger and stripped it. On the charger there were 3 wires. a green, black, and white one. I then plugged my phone in and tried it out. I believe I used the green and white wire but Im not completely sure. After connecting the wires a spark flew from it. After that I checked my phone and now it won't turn on. I am wondering if there is anything that could fix this.
You probably either fried the battery or shorted out the logic board. You could try another battery first(which requires partial disassembly). Otherwise, if its the logic board, you may as well buy another DNA.
Sounds like you borked the hardware. Does it charge when you plug an official charger in. If there is no sign of life at all probably bricked it.

No I've tried charging it with its original charger. I may just buy a new phone or try replacing the battery. It depends how easy it is to replace. Any other ideas?

There are 2 possibilities. Either the battery fried or the entire board fried. Hopefully it's the battery because to get a new board put in is about 270$. I would try replacing the battery first and see how it goes.

I would think it would be difficult since it's under everything else on the phone. The battery also has strong adhesive holding it to the housing. I've seen people bend it trying to get it out so it's in there pretty good. I can't imagine it would be easy.
