its not happening before but now when i locked my phone the screen will power off/turned black then it will turn on(but the screen is still locked) then turn off and turn on again. it keeps on going and it will stop randomly.. perhaps about 3 minutes sometimes 10minutes. im afraid its draining my battery faster. any suggestions?

ps:always try 2 mention which rom ur into so thet people can help u accordingly

why?
Do a fullbackup and then try a hardreset(wipe factory reset) o a new rom. If is stil happening maybe its hardware related.

yes it is.. it's called SOD.. search for it and you'll know what's causing it.. but basically you have to find a good combination of build, kernel and of course microSD card.. although on most build that are based on Evo kernel, SOD is almost unheard of.. that's why when you get the SOD, microSD would most likely be the culprit.. also, on some winmo rom, you have to disable the automatically turn off the phone when not in use.. some people here might say it isn't needed, but on my experience, i know that i had to do it on some winmo rom to prevent the SOD..

The phones not actually crashed its juatt not the display showing anything for some reason.

okay but how do i get out?
aight my only problem with my phone is when i shut it off and turn it back on or if i reboot it when it comes back on and i unlock the screen. it goes to the dial pad screen and it freez's?? it only used to happen once in while now it happens just about everytime i reboot or turn on my phone.. i unlock the screen it it goes to the dial pad screen and just sits there!!! it sucks!!!!!!! anyones else have that problem.. is there a way i can stop it from doing that?? thanks
Mine does it too but once sense finishes loading completely I can go to home screen. Which rom are you running? I'm on Tranquillity rls1b.

na.. i dont play with oc on this phone.. fast enough for me!!
I have the same issue, but for me only happens after I wipe, definitely after a system wipe, maybe after cache wipes as well. The back button won't work once the dial is up, but it seems home will, after a slight delay, then sense finishes loading up.
It's very weird. On Stock w/ Goodies now.

yea i think it happens most after i wipe.. but sometimes even if i just do a normal reboot .. that is odd though.. looks like the same thing happens to u.. thats the only problem i have with my phone it that.. other than that its perfect!! :good:
I literally reflashed a couple hours ago, it happened, and I thought to myself that I have to ask if it happens to anyone else. I always forgot bc its so minor, but still an annoyance.

I have Galaxy S2 i9100.....It runs on 2.3.6 Gingerbread....recently i have a problem in tht...my screen goes black all of a sudden...i couldnt do anything with it...i cant open anything or even couldnt switch it off....but when i call from someother mobile it is still on and the ring goes on but no sound comes out from my mobile....only to bring it back is to remove the battery and keep it back....my mobile is not rooted...plz help with this.... waiting for ur reply...thanks....

Do you still see the Samsung logo when your phone is booting?
I think he is getting sleep of death problem and it could be caused of his SD Card try removing it and tell me how it goes.

Yeah i can see the logo while booting....it didnt go black while im still using it....whn it was locked and when i try to unlock it, it was black...

You need to first post your Rom and kernel details; go-to Settings - About phone, and post everything you see.

Same problem here with sleep of death problem. My galaxy s2 has 1 week of life and it happened 3 times.
Should I sent it back for repair or I may try to flash a custom rom? is this an hardware problem?

Yeah ofcourse....But as i mentioned earlier i didnt do anything for that....SOD didnt come in ma mobile after 2 weeks....only for 2 weeks i had that problem and that too once in 3 days like that....sorry mate....u can contact someone above who hve replied for my post earlier....better send PM them....else no one ll notice this i guess....hope everything gets sorted out and u use your mobile as old.....cheers mate...

Even I have the same issue as My S2 screen goes black but still it gets calls if called from other cell.
Only solution till now is remove battery and put it back and switch on the phone.

Update your phone to latest stock jelly bean. I have had sod with CM based roms. But it never happened on stock JB
So now after having a "perfect phone" i found that my to screen has some lines going down.
All the functions were normal though.
So i took it into my service provider...they said LCD screen failure/issue under warranty 2-3 weeks.
So they transferred all my contacts back to my old Wildfire till the repair comes back.
I just hope they dont upload that 4.1.3 faulty JB as a kind gesture.
But you'll get the ota fix when you check for it, so..... No issues.

When i get the phone back, i hope to be in a position to upload 2.1.5 OTA.. in about 3 weeks or so.
I think they will replace the digitizer touch screen , but i am guessing,
So now i got the phone back, with new LED screen.Everything works again, i am a happy chappy.
Except for one problem.
I cant log in with my phone onto this site....i forgot my password hehe...no really, i am stupid.
I am logged in with the pc now.
So i will keep trying till i get it right.
I am pretty sure you didnt get led display, since there is only lcd version of dx

HTC Desire X wont turn ON!
My phone:confused turned off suddenly last night while i was on the call. I had kept it on charging , the LED is on but the phone is not switching on. I also tried volume down and power button, removed the battery for several times. But nothing happened.

Same happened to me today morning. The phone turned off while on call. My wifi wasn't working after the restart. Tried clearing cache and dalvik cache with little success. Whenever I tried switching on the wifi, the phone rebooted. Finally had to restore last night's nandroid. Now everything works fine
I'm on myONE-DX
Edit: sorry didn't read it full.
Try with another battery and see if it starts.

I was using Note 1 i717R on stock Rogers firmware and my phone suddenly turned off...
Now the only thing it can do is keep vibrating like its turning on!!!
But it doesn't show anything at all on the screen, not even the samsung logo!!
I tried going into custom recovery/download mode but NO LUCK!!
The phone just keeps vibrating!! The vibration only stops if we take the battery out!
Any solutions? Or does anyone have any idea as to what could be the problem!!!

Have you tried removing the battery,let it sit for a bit and put it back in. Then try going into recovery mode.

Yea, I tried it.. As soon as I put the battery back in, it starts vibrating. It's like its trying to turn on but it doesn't!!

Try think youtube link. It may help you but make sure you pay very close attention to the fact that this method will end up erasing EVERYTHING from your phone so you better back up what you want (or first remove you external SD card etc).

The thing is I cannot see anything on the screen. It stays black and the phone keeps vibrating as it tries to turn on but it doesnt work!!!

Mehn I know somebody having this same problem even going in to download mode and flash stock firmware thru odin still no go....
