Please, i relock my bootloader, i had unlocked it but i decided to lock it again.
How can I test, how to know if everything is ok? If I did right?
In line Xperia ARC when unlock the bootloader, the Track ID stopped working, when the relock bootloader again, he returned to work.
Xperia in S there is the same way to verify this? Or have some other way to make sure everything is ok with the bootloader? Because I want to receive updates from ICS by PCC or OTA.
Thanks for attention.
Just check it in the service menu.

Connect your phone to pc and open PCC, then click on update phone, it'll take few moments and should say no update available or your phone has updated software or something like that...!!! If it says, you are running modified software or something like that then its not locked...!!! Try relocking...!!!

Very Thanks !
mine says that even with the bootloader unlocked. try the service menu to find out for sure

Hi there is it possible to relock the boot loader for xperia mini? I unlocked it because i tried CM7. Now I am thinking of going bag to original firmware. Any help is appreciated!
If relocating is not possible, what should one do to get as close as possible back to the original firmware, is it still possible to get official upgrades?
Best,
Thorsten

Third, remember if you are doing it with official method, you will never able to receive FOTA or SEUS update, you can, but only by flashing from xda.
So since we did the unofficial method, After we update through SEUS the bootloader is still unlocked?
I don't know about that. Since the service info still says bootloader unlocking allowed, I think the phone thinks itself as still locked. Flashing from seus might rely more on drm instead of whether the bootloader as locked or not.

when service info says Bootloader unlock allowed: true, that means that it the bootloader is locked, but can be unlocked at will
as many devs say, unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty and bricks the phone when doing FOTA or SEUS
but there's a flashtool out there for us that will take care of it

You do know this method right? http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/ When using that method, it is unlocked but the report still says 'Bootloader unlock allowed: true'. So if you use this method (as what idareyou and me were doing back then) the phone thinks that it is still 'locked', even though it's unlocked.

Yeah. I can confirm that my bootloader is unlocked but it still says 'Bootloader unlock allowed:Yes'
I thought at first I wasn't succesful even though it went smoothly so I tried flashing custom Kernel and it was succesful.
I want to know if in the future if SE release their ICS and we update using SEUS the unlocked bootloader remains because believe me, I don't want to go through the same process again, I got electrecuted several time because I don't have test points, just a clip and copper wire.

Hi guys,
just a very quick question and my apologies if it's incredibly obvious.
I picked up a 2011 Mini Pro a few days ago as a replacement for my X10 Mini Pro and I love it to bits already. It's time to start looking at installing a new rom or two but I was wondering...if I unlock the bootloader via Sony's website and lose the DRM, what does that actually do?
I'm not worried about losing the TrackID app as that got uninstalled along with all the other bloatware but I specifically don't want SEUS to refuse to update my phone. Especially with the official ICS just around the corner..
Bootloader can be relocked, then SEUS will update your phone.
Unlocking bootloader on unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com will indeed, remove warranty and all DRM keys. Last ones are gone forever.
Currently, we haven't noticed much difference with these DRM keys. Some Facebook in Xperia functions will stop working and so does original TrackID. You can install TrackID from Play Store, then it will work again.
S(M)US, Sony (Mobile) Update Service, will indeed also stop working. Bootloader can be relocked and then it will work again. I can confirm this, as I have updated my phone firmware even after relocking bootloader.
Just if you unlock the bootloader, stay away from OTA(Over The Air, directly from phone via 3G or WiFi) updates, as this does brick your phone(can be unbricked, but better don't do it).
Also, a small note. Unlocking bootloader is the official way, at unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com or via SE Bootloader Unlocking Tool, posted in Development section. These are the same method.
The test point method is not unlocking bootloader, it is patching bootloader as the bootloader will be edited, allowing installation of custom ROMs.

That's a very helpful answer, thank you!
I'm not worried about the warranty or the TrackID, it was purely the PC Companion and SEUS updating I was concerned about.
And yes, I know it's not technically SEUS anymore but it's just so much better to say than SMUS or SUS. lol
OTA updates aren't an issue, I uninstalled that app straight away.
Again, thanks for this. I'll head off and unlock my bootloader and see what wonderful rom's this place has come up with.
Hi tickle! Use testpoint method, is way better, you dont have to worry about anything later

Hey guys...just to let you know...I used the testpoint method and Sony said SEUS and PCC will not work...SEUS does! I have repaired my phone a few times...it gets past their security check...best not tell them that, they are convinced SEUS and PCC will refuse me but it's not true! PCC doesn't work anymore, as expected.

Looks like I'm better off patching it. I don't need the DRM but I might at some point in the future.
I was hoping not to do it..my technical skills are basically zero. If you hear a loud bang from the UK, you'll know I've got it wrong!!

Now I'm really confused. I used Da Vinci unlocking which also patched my bootloader. So...people say it's patch so it thinks it's unlocked, but it's not. For me, PCC doesn't work anymore, just SEUS.
That will give you an idea of what to expect. I don't know if I will ever need to 're lock' the bootloader or not. I have tried the official Sony boot unlocker and it says it cannot lock or relock because it's 'unlocked'.
Hi guys (=
I unlocked my bootloader via testpoint. It's clear to me that I can't do OTA updates now (afaik, I'd appreciate opposing information). But is it still possible to update via SUS/PCC. In my opinion with official unlock, it's impossible to do a repair/update via SUS/PCC (denied by program in advance). But with testpoint-unlocked bootloader I'm given the possibility to do a repair. Can I do it without any danger for my phone?
So long,

Actually, I'm not 100% sure in that. Some users reported problems.
I didn't try as I never seen a need for ota, have you tried it?
didn't try it. no need till now, because I unlocked with testpoint and installed/rooted .432
i was testpoint unlocked but then i needed alot of relocking and unlocking for testing stuff so testpoing procedure became so damn boring. bite the dust and did the official unlock, now relock/unlock is fast and easy.
official way unlock -> relock -> OTA. no brick. thats how i got from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4
all i lost is DRM (and warranty ofc ..), but havent seen any situation that i need DRM in first place.

May I ask what could be the reason to relock BL?
Except OTA. But then again, OTA is kinda useless, IMHO.

i had this funky stuff when i flash tft it wont boot. it ended in bootloop or just stuck on SE writing. did a relock and it went on. have no idea why is that but i took it as "dont fix if its not broken"
yeah logic says lock BL-> stock kernels only. unlock BL -> all kernels.
makes no sence i know just the way things work arround here. same as the wifi crap i have on ICS, so few other ppl have the same thing.
Hi and sorry for my bad English :S
Actually on my Xperia Mini Pro SK17i I mounted the RealICS 4.1 but I would see the official 4.0.4! I have unlocked bootloader but I have a big problem: I can't flash with Flashtool because It always return me an error when It's flashing the system!
Can I flash the official 4.0.4 with PC Companion or Sony Mac Bridge? (I have a Mac!)
What will I do if the flash give me an error? I'm confused...
After that can I lock my bootloader? I unlocked that with the testpoint metod :S
PS: Can i flash this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772120) on my RealICS 4.1 or Can i have the notification on the lockscreen like in Gingerbread?
Thanks thanks thanks at all
What error does Flashtool give?
You need to install the drivers and make sure your phone is in flashmode.
It has always worked and I have everything installed correctly
It give me "Flashing aborted. Error flashing system.sin"
With all the official ROM!!!

means using repair on an unlocked device will brick your phone so if you want to flash official firmware and you have unlocked your boot loader then first lock your boot loader by following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324703 and then update to latest official firmware
Incorrect to all of this.
If you unlocked via official method,
Installation will not start at all! Update Service/PC Companion can see if you're bootloader is unlocked via official method or not. If it is, you just get error and software won't be edited at all. Relocking bootloader allows the installation to continue, so relock if you want to repair/update with PC.
If you unlocked via test point method,
Installation will work and your device won't get bricked!
Now, solution to your Flashtool - What version are you using of Flashtool? Were you able to install THAT firmware earlier also to your phone?

Just remember this, do not try to update OTA if you have unlocked boot-loader by any method. It will (might) brick your phone. (That's an actual brick. You will need to use un-bricking ftf to repair phone)
Known Issues:
It is currently not possible to unlock the boot loader for CDMA phones.
Some customers with unlocked boot loaders have experienced problems when they are accepting over the air upgrades (FOTA - Firmware upgrade Over The Air). For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades.

Today after updating to Marshmellow, myXperia showed up telling me to authenticate. So, after authenticating, I went to deactivate it and checked my bootloader status.
Seems like it changed from unknown to bootloader unlocked allowed.
I have not checked whether I can re-unlock my bootloader. I'll check it once I have the time, school and all..
Or if anyone has the time to check that would be appreciated too.
Edit: I'll wait for Androplus kernel for Marshmallow before I test this out.

Exciting news!! Am able to flash androplus kernel in Marshmallow! Bootloader remained in an unlocked state even though I had accidentally enabled myXperia in Lollipop, which makes me think that the implementation of myXperia in Lollipop didn't allowed the disabling of myXperia in the settings.

Hi! I updated my tablet via OTA! It seemed successful. But if you don't want to take the risk of OTA, you can just use flashtool if you did unlocked the bootloader and then accidentally turned myXperia on.
Btw, PC companion won't work if your bootloader is unlocked. Someone mentioned this on other threads before, can't remember who.
Oh right, I did check these below in fastboot before I actually pushed any files into the tablet:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Before, I didn't get any results when I was at Lollipop 5.0.2. But after updating, it showed some bootloader information.
