ICS shutter sound - HTC EVO 3D

Does anyone know how to remove the shutter sound from the camera. Could I just delete the sound file using root explorer? The reason I ask is I use an app called cerberus in case my phone is ever lost or stolen. If the wrong password is entered on my phone it takes a picture. It is kind of obvious though because it makes that stupid noise.

Ahh, so in reality you don't want to be caught taking pictures on the sly

If anyone knows the answer it would be helpful . As it is actually rather annoying

They do have a spy camera app that makes no noise. That is not an option in my case though, as the cerberus app is what is taking the pic.

Let's see. Let me install ICS and get back to you.

Mean Rom ICS has the camera apk with no sound

I love Mean ROM. The best.
To remove sound, unpack HTCcamera apk in root/system/app, remove .ogg camera in apk/res/raw, repack and insert back into original folder with the same permissions as before. Owner R/W, Group R, Others R
For ease simplicity, you could just flash MeanROM. Runs great. But if you're like me, I'd rather know the technical since I customize my ROM a lot.

I hate that awkward moment when the shutter noise alerts the subject of my next people of walmart upload.

HOw to take screen shots

how do you take screenshots on vibrant?

Or if you have ADB installed, you could run ddms.bat (from the tools folder I believe is where it's at) to capture a screen shot. You must have USB debugging enabled also.

You're probably better off just downloading one of the programs these guys are telling you about then. They will all get the job done for you.

If you are already rooted, shoot me from the market works really well as a previous poster stated. I have no experience with the other apps.

Confused
My vibrant is taking random screenshots of my phone. I will be doing something random like texting or surfing online and I will hear a click from the camera. The bottom of my screen will say screenshot saved. I dont know what I am doing to cause this. Sure there is times I would like to take a screenshot if I knew how it worked, but these are so random. I am running 2.2 and have not installed any apps for that function

[Q] How do I add quick settings?

As title says...how do I add the additional quick links to the pull menu bar (screen brightness, ringer volume, rotate)???
I've been looking and am hoping someone can help....I don't want to flash a different ROM to get them, just mod the one I'm on now. A flashable zip would be even better
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for posting this. Do you have to do anything else besides flash this? I'm pretty n00b at looking inside apks
i flashed this and I didn't get any extra settings. Any ideas? Thanks, I'm on stock rooted btw
Yeah, HTC should really offer some customization of their quick settings.
I'd personally like to see an option to put the phone in standby, like is available on some MIUI ROMs. The less I need to use the hard power button, the longer it'll last.

I think this is what I have but it's made for gingerbread 2.3.3 which works for the most part on 2.3.4 but instead of saying "of or on" it just says "1% 2%". Are you using 2.3.4?
is there an update of this zip for 2.3.4?
Thanks!

Low Quality Contact Images on Lockscreen

so anyone whos linked to facebook, when you get a text and you use the stock app, do you notice low crappy quality images on the lock screen? same with a call?
their actual fb images aren't this low of quality; i can see them in the people widget and the quality looks fine. however, they're much smaller and lower resolution on the lockscreen when you get a text. any thoughts on this? i just started using the stock messaging app again so i'd like to know
I have noticed. It looks horrible. I wish HTC would fix it.
Same here, they're nasty.
ok good, as long as its happening to us all. hmm, there's gotta be a way to fix that.
We can fix. We just need root
lol how? nobody fixed that on the incredible roms running sense 2.0 and above wtih the 3.0 lockscreen....it was always ****ty quality lol
I just had my girlfriend call and text me both. I am not having this issue.
And yours is linked to facebook for her, or is it her google image?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
3 users of this phone I know of have this same issue... I highly doubt any one with the pictures synced with facebook are not having this issue.
My wife's picture seems OK. Can't take a screenshot of the lock screen but it looks the same as her contact picture which was synced from facebook. Bottom contact

You can take a pic of the lock screen just like you do for that. Hold home and power. It works.

Wow, last poster has some nice image quality there. Mine's got that low-quality FB imagetag, however. Would really like to make it better.
My contact photos don't look so hot on the lockscreen either.

Edit: Mine was shrunk when attaching but you can tell the quality is bad
If you use

Francis Chong ( split cam developer....i think) stated there would be no split cam for android
https://getsatisfaction.com/ignition/topics/can_develop_splitcam_for_android_cause_its_awesome
i havn't tried it out, but based on the feature your looking for, Funny Split Camera might be an alternative
(its not free though )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ndroid.funnysplitcamera&feature=search_result
also ( not android related ) if your looking for a photography program that would let you clone yourself, try adobe photoshop ( but thats for computers )
There is an android app just for that, called Clone Yourself
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lyrebirdstudio.clone
I will have to try this out now

the best camera clone is Clone Camera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.petavision.clonecameraandroid&hl=en. it can do up to three clones at the same time

I have bought both and i can say that Clone Yourself is way better. It takes full resolution images(13mp) against 1mp, much better paint option with resizable brush tools.

Font/icons get blurry when scrolling

Cant believe that this is normal, but when I scroll, the font/icons become blurry. I googled about it and the only answer I found is, that old Amoled had this problem. But even my Galaxy S3 is crystal clear when scrolling. It's like a motion-blur effect in vertical direction when scrolling vertically.
Do you have this problem too? Actually it's one some of my old displays too, but I dont expect it on an IPS panel from 2016...
Try this
Settings/Developer Options/ Tick on "Force GPU Rendering" this should make your Android phone smoother/snappier!
If root available try L Speed/Entropy/fstrim apps found on Play Store!
LG G5 & LG V20 are snappy beasts and are well optimised with Snapdragon 820 and is better than Samsung.
Thanks for posting this standard answer again like you did before on another thread No this does not do anything, like I told you before. No it's not rooted, and trim does not affect how the display works. Are you even posting stuff you copy paste from somewhere else?

You see the double frames, in my oppinion the display just has not 60hz/fps or has horrible input lag / refresh timings.
