Hi guys,
I have installed CM7.2 nightly version on my ace, but not I can't stay connected to the mobile network (bell canada).
If I turn the airplane mode on and then off the phone is able to send messages and seems connected, but few time later, it seems disconnect (does not show a message that lost connectivity, just can't receive or make calls or messages).
Does anybody have a clue?
Thanks

I'm facing this problem since i bought this phone.
When i set my phone to WCDMA/GSM OR WDMA ONLY mode my phone drop randomly calls and in 80% of case unable to make call ("conditional call forwarding active" repetedly appearing till call is ended).
When i switch to GSM only mode the phone run smoothly without any problem..
P.s : i thought it was related to the 3G/H issue but i don'T know exactly caus' even when i'm connected on Wifi it's the same problem.
Your Help will be very appreciable.
Regards,
please any help .. anyones facing this issue .....please help!!!!
F-f-f-f-factory Reset!
You get it on a plan or something? Or outright?
I'm afraid does'nt work for me!!!
I would guess its to do with you having a weak 3g signal and you will be connected to 3g when you make a call, then move into an area that's gsm only and the call will therefore have to drop as the signal changes.
I have a widget that goes to the mobile networks settings page and tend to keep my phone on gsm only while I'm not using the internet or on wifi etc then switch up as need be.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
can you give me the name of the widget please?
Hi guys,
I just switched to Bell (Canada) and have a Galaxy S3.
I have noticed in the last day or so that I keep losing the connection with the carrier. I will try to send a text message and it says unable to send right now and the notification screen will not display bell as the carrier. A few seconds later, it will work.
My connection when it is working is quite high signal (max bars)
Does anyone know what could be going on or how I might diagnose it further?
Thanks
I have installed an app called no signal alert and it seems that I keep entering "emergency calls only" mode every few minutes.
As the title says, I can't send or receive messages through these two apps, meaning there's a connection problem on my phone (it's a Galaxy S2 btw). Only when I am connected to a WI-FI I can properly use the program.
What should I look for and how do I solve this issue?
Maybe you should talk to your 3G provider..
i supposed you have tried to reinstall applications?
at least you can give it a try flashing a different modem if no
Yes, maybe I should talk to my provider.
I'm using different SIM cards, with different numbers, on the Android and on the Gear S. The Gear S is set to use the Gear number for calls and for SMS sending. If I send an SMS to the Gear number, it always arrives there. If I try to send (compose or reply) an SMS message from the Gear, then:
* 99% of the cases it gives a timeout and is not sent
* if I quickly put the Gear in airplane mode, then turn airplane mode off, then send immediately the SMS, is is always sent
Any hints? Does anybody have issues with SMS sending (originating from the Gear, not proxied via the phone)?
Br,
C
PS. - I guess I just posted in the wrong area, but I have no clue as of how to move this to the Troubleshooting zone ...
When this happens, is your watch connected to your phone via BT? The watch's cell radio is auto-disabled whenever it is BT connected to the phone.

The watch is not connected via BT when this happens, and the 3G is always on. I made sure it only has the 3G connection and it is set to use the Gear number ...
Then you probably have SIM card or account setup issue not related to Watch itself. I don't know which region your watch is from. Here in US, my AT&T version won't allow sending text message from watch's radio using another number. It has to be the number of the watch itself. Security restrictions from the carrier I guess.

Did that too, forced the operator to send the configuration again to the Gear number, received it on the Gear, approved the setup, got the MMS and internet APNs updated ... the Gear sends SMSs from its own number, and it works for a couple of minutes after it is out of airplane mode, then stops working. It can also receive messages anytime, without any problems - so it must be something else. Since I seem to be alone having this issue, I will probably reflash and reinstall, maybe it fixes itself
I'm having almost the same problem except with calls --- texts go through fine both ways, but I can only receive calls, when I try to make an outgoing call on the gear in standalone mode (phone not connected) it says either "unexpected response" or "emergency calls only" I think it could be a firmware bug as I found two firmware updates I'd missed (will test it tomorrow, currently a storm so no ATT reception here) but make sure your firmware is latest version, if it's not, update it and try again.
i'm on the latest fw, take care, you may lose text messages too
Ah, well I guess it wont help you >.< sorry. Good Luck!
Though in my case, after updating the firmware it works perfectly for calls/texts now! Data doesn't work, but I don't really need that (I have an unlimited plan on my phone and excellent reception usually, the gear's tiny plan ($10/3 months) is just for those odd times when I forget my phone or it's battery dies, or it has no reception and I *have* to make a call --- to date not had a problem like that in 10 years, but peace of mind for $3/month is worth it )
Hi, Hope you can help me solve a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 --
When 4G/LTE mobile data is active:
- incoming calls always go straight to voicemail (the phone does not ring)
- I cannot make outgoing voice calls (it just sits there forever and the call never goes through). If I turn off the mobile data, the call will go through.
When I am on a voice call, I can turn the LTE data on, and everything works fine (both data and voice). I just can't initiate a phone call (or receive one) when mobile data is on.
I am usually also using the phone in Wifi-tether mode, and my provider is Straight Talk.
Please help

Are you using the phone in global mode, LTE / CDMA or LTE / GSM / UTMS? Also, is the phone rooted or have a custom rom?

Global mode, LTE/CDMA
Rooted stock VRUFNK1 (4.4.2)
Xposed framework
It seems now that it's actually a little more complicated than I stated:
Initially (after boot) everything works as it should.
After some period of tethering, the issue appears (no voice calls while mobile data is on). At that point, I have to disable mobile data in order to place a voice call (though I can re-enable data as soon as the call goes through).
Or, if I turn the tethering off, that also seems to solve the issue for some time (even after I turn tethering back on).
I'm using the Wifi Tether Router app, but I'm pretty sure I also noticed this issue when I was using the ROM's built-in hotspot capability (which has other issues).

Try putting it in global mode. I had an issue making calls when I had it in LTE / CDMA. Also, which xposed modules are you running? Which baseband are you using?
