Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone could help me on this, i changed rom to The above mentioned Omega v2.1 aokp, which im absolutely love, i just have one problem, whenever i come to work my 3g or h+ is replaced with the roaming sign , which is giving me problems when i come to wi-fi tethering, its like having crappy 3g connectivity.
Now on any other rom ive had before i just changed my gsm/wcdma auto to wcdma only which solved the problem and i never saw the R again, whereas in the new rom there is no option to changed this in the settings.
Any help greatly appreciated guys

Sounds as if you need to try a different modem. Different modems get different signal strengths depending on what area you're in.

You cash either try miui, which is built on cm code, and hopefully it works or stay cm7 and not have data working. Miui is very similar to cm7 and performance is almost identical.

Heya, I don't know much at all about modems, but seeing as no one else has any ideas I thought I'd just suggest for you to take a look at this thread:

The second post shows a comparison between all of the modems that he tested.
I flashed KI4 just because.
I haven't noticed any differences (yet. I haven't really tested it out much) but then again I didn't have issues to start with.
Maybe worth a try? 8)

I'm using the I9100TDUKF4 modem with I9100 KJ3 firmware. Works well.
Give the Telstra I9100TDVKF2 modem a go. I found it better than the Vodafone modem for the I9100T.

Thanks all... I'm switching a lot of baseband today, KH3, KH4 is not good for T version S2s....
and yes, it was I9100TDUKF4 in basband before, that gave me an average speed and reception...
I have also aware that maybe the service provider will affect the reception, so my guess will be if for T version S2s, it has to be used different baseband when the phone is with Telstra and voda...
anyway i am using NEKF2 atm, the speed is amazing but the reception is again not much improved....

Yep! For i9100t it's best to use only the voda or telstra modems. I use kf4 on my telstra version running optus sim.
Does anyone have a cwm version of the telstra modem?

I have a friend in Marsfield and 3/Voda reception there is ok. Mobile data is a bit crap but that's not your problem I assume.

I9100NEKF2:good in speed, average in reception
I9100TDVF2: best modem in terms of T version modem (there are only 2 though xD)
inside my room using voda, still got 2 bars (normal voda modem gives me "emergency call only")

even to the shop of vodafone and they dont know,
they put my sim in a LG and yes on the lg Optimus 3d i have 3g,

I root only my neo v nothing else, just original only rooted and no third apps etc, another simcard is not needed, i have a replaceble sim from the vodafone shop and that still dont work, the shop manager put my sim in the lg optimus 3d and yes that phone gets 3g so why mine not, i have a vodafone prepay card, is this enough info mate?
I think there is something wrong with your phone. try reflash the baseband with the newest flashtool
I had this problem with another cell, maybe is the same problem

My problem is a little bit different. I have rooted my phone, unlocked the bootloader and flashed a custom rom (miui 2.6.8 based on 4.0.4 ics by zdunex25)
with the official 4.1.B.0.431 version, my 3G is working perfectly well, but after i flashed the new rom (with the recommended kernel by the dev) the 3G is not working
I have checked the settings to enable data and nothing is working. Does anybody have any idea on how to make this work?! Because other people with the miui rom have no problem at all and everything is perfect...

first check if you flash right rom for your phone (neo-neo v), have you tried reflash with full wipe?

in my non-rooted,non flashed phone my 3G was not working, after flashing MiUi my 3G is working

sorry for the late answer, but i eventually figured it out. it was the rom's fault, it loaded wrong setting for the mobile internet. I checked the correct ones with the official rom and now everything is perfect!
I can't yet post in the dev threads yet so maybe I can get some help with this problem here.
I have svoice installed but I can't seem to use it unless connected to Wifi. If I am just on regular cell data - 4g LTE then it gives me the network error message.
I am in Toronto, Canada if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated!

I am with Telus. I wonder which radio we should be using?
Have you had any problems with GPS?
Gps was not working at all.
Went back to Saurom 7.1 everything works apart from Svoice.
What rom are you having the issues with?

I have the problem with both OnlyOne and Team Perfection, but for team perfection I used another svoice because it wasn't supported in RC1.
I just tried installing blaze modem but that did not fix it.

There are a couple of modem threads.
I saw an ICS Telus modem, I may try that on my next flirt with OnlyOne. For now I'm staying with Saurom, or until someone can clarify our issues. I'm really just guessing its modem or radio related. I found too, that upper back panel of phone was getting really hot.

Out of curiosity, is your wifi connection with Rogers?
I have not seen anyone with Telus in either of those 2 rom threads , mostly Rogers accounts. Its beyond me!!
Edit: I have just pm'd a user on the OnlyOne thread that displays Telus as his provider. I will update if he responds.

I doubt wether kifac would move to Telus, he works for Rogers lol!!
As far as Svoice on Saurom is concerned, perhaps I misled you unwittingly by saying everything works on Saurom, should be "everything other than Svoice, I believe Svoice is an ICS only app." I have corected my post to reflect that.

This is the modem that fixed my GPS!
I flashed the "XperiaTized V10 GT-Xperia S" ROM on my Samsung galaxy Ace which has a baseband version of DDKQ8. Everything works fine except the 2G network. Anyone faced issue from India? I really liked the ROM and want to use it. Unfortunately I cannot post my problem on development thread as it is blocked for me.
If anyone even has a work around let me know.

Ohh ok thanks for the quick reply. Let me reflash it again. I was moved to CM7.2 RC3 due to that bug. ROM is so good that I keep coming back to it again

well, it is a different phone. a small difference in the Model no. itself can result in a different phone. There must be some little difference of chip or something in it from the original 5830....

Abou that... You are wrong
I have the GT-S5830L and is the same, the only difference it exists is that the L version has either lower or higher frecuency in band (internet) and that L means latin american
He must use Stock ROMs for GT-S5830L because that frecuency number can make the difference connecting through 2G.
