Overclocking a Mini (ST15I). - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Is there anyway to Overclock an ST15i on stock rooted .62 firmware and locked bootloader?
Is there something like a file I can use like I could do with my old X8?
Also,any way to add governors?
I don't wanna use custom ROM at the moment though.Just stock.
Thanks.
N.

Only way is via unlocking bootloader and using custom kernel.

With stock kernel, you cannot overclock at all. Kernel is the only bridge between hardware and firmware. You have to edit kernel to be able to overclock.

[Q] About rooting Stock GB 2.3.3 and Custom ROMS

Hello!
I wonder if there will be a way to root the stock SE 2.3.3 fw withtout flashing the pre-rooted version in the next days or if its something hard to do.
Also, does the update of baseband, fw, kernel, etc... means something to the devs of custom ROMs like fixing camera bugs
Thx
A root method will come with some time.

any news on that?? can i get that anywhere??
Haven't come across it myself either, good luck hunting.
As the FW from the Arc works on the Neo, try using the one in Arc development thread.
From my phone to your eyes.
are you sure that they use exactly the same FW?

i use that one too but i dint want HK software. but i think i am gonna wait for that tweaked clean stock rom thats gonna be done ir the final CM7

Hello,
You can simply use DooMKernel (OC + recovery + root) or install Bin4ry's RootXperia.zip from a recovery
The two methods works with a 368Fw (just an unlocked bootloader is required)
I got the HK one and once I got my bootloader unlocked, installed doomkernel and then deleted the apps I didn't want on there with root and it runs well. overclocking time soon.

New user- 2.33

Yo guys, I'm a new user of x10i...I have on my x10i 2.33 software so I'm wondering If I'm able to flash, root and etc.. with the guides what are posted on this forums as a guide or they are out-dated( not for this software) or it doesn't matter.
I'm not sure if this is considering as a spam, but I want to make sure so I don't screw up my x10, I just bought it few days ago.
thanks
and just wondering, what hacks( root, flash etc...) do you guys suggest me to do on x10i so I could enjoy it max..
Just root it first using flashtool(look at stickies at top of page for guide and download links).
Sent from my x10i using xda premium
yeah, I got that part ;P but still, my question is still not answered
Which question would that be;
Can you root
Is guides outdated
Is message spam
Will you screw up you phone
Which Rom
Yes if you read guides and get flashtool
No;but a lot of download links are dead
No;but there is a search function for a reason
Probably;but it's easily sorted-although certain people can't seem to manage
Try Feravolts rom

SEARCH, SEARCH, SEARCH, READ, READ, READ, posts have dates on them. Questions about roms should be made in the roms Q&A thread. People will help you but you have to help your self.
X10S rom is current with active DEVs.

thanks guys...I did most of stuff already to my x10..rooted, changed kernel, didn't flash new room yet tho but I'll be workin on it
I still have one prob....and that's...once I flashed loader ( with kernel )...when I want to remove kernel and loader..can I put my x10 to default like it was before..same loader, same kernel like when I bought it..or I have to dl a new kernel and loader and replace them with the old ones?
Are you meaning un-root it or keep it rooted, but with stock firmware....

You can flash new kernels over dooms. For back to stock there are stock kernels with xrecovery installed. If you want to start over with full stock (relock, unroot, stock rom & kernel) then use flashtool and flash stock ftf file

Two Questions.!!

1.Tell the easiest way to unlock bootloader of my Xperia St15i
Want to flash a custom kernel to over clock my mini so also i want to know the highest stable frequency.
2.Is it possible to turn off the light of two soft button ( Menu key & Back key)
In dark this light spreads in the whole screen portion and looks pathetic like a local phone so i would like to turn it off
Check my signature for unlocking bootloader.
For the other question try apps like RootDim.
Thanks,
Rick

I did not understans your question properly. But from what I could make out, you were asking if Flashtool can be used for flashing Stock Firmwares on Unlocked bootloaders.
The answer is yes. You can use flashtool to flash Firmwares even if your bootloader is unlocked.
Thanks,
Rick

Yea. Unlock bootloader. Flash the firmware (if you are already not on it). Install your desired kernel using flashtool. And you are done.
To overclock you will need to use apps.
Thanks,
Rick

Like DragonClawsAreSharp said unlock the bootloader, then flash a different kernel, I suggest (for ICS) KRsH Kernel v3.0 (ICS) which can be found here, or Rage Kernel v3.2 (ICS) which can be found here, then you just need to download the appropriate app for overclocking, I suggest the free No-frills CPU Control, which can be found on Google PlayStore or here, hope I helped.

But rootdim is not working
any other app can do that??
To switch off softkeys light, try chosing in rootdim other lights, button-backlight and choose rfkill0.
Then you can save as a shortcut.
Bye.

Want to uppdate my Xperia Neo, confused.

Hello guys,
I have the original Xperia Neo and want to manually update it to stock ICS, without unlocking my bootloader to avoid possible bricking in case later OTA updates arrive.
These threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26798415&postcount=141
that help you root your phone assume you're already on ICS.
Threads that help you update to ICS, assume you're already rooted. I'm confused.
I'm currently running stock and never unlocked or rooted the phone before.
Whats the correct way to update to stock ICS ?
If your neo on GB is not rooted and locked bootloader too, you can safely update via PCC or SEUS.
Also you don't need root initially to flash an ftf using flashtool. That is the only way to "manually" update any SE Phone.
But if it is rooted, flash an ftf file of 4.0.3 firmware. 562 using flashtool.( you will lose all your data. Also search on how to flash ICS firmware using flashtool.) , root it if you want to and proceed to OTA to 4.0.4 firmware. 431.
If you dont wish to root it, directly flash. 431 ftf. To update manually.

Not really, there are .ftf files in first post so you can manually install ICS with flashtool.
U dn't need to root for manually updating via flashtool !!

and then flash it only ? that's it?
the file is common to all Xperia Neo phones (regions) ?
Yeah. Only flash the proper ftf file. Also, if you want region specific, use Seus. there is hardly any difference in regions though.

Don't ever upgrade to ics. Your neo will become very laggy and most of the time applications will force stopped plus overheating and drains battery faster. I have experienced it.

Root. And install supercharger. It is an all in one solution. Also if you do a bit of searching, you'll find fixes. Eg. Stock dialer lag fix by mpkiep in the Neo themes section.
And most of all unlock your boot loader and use another kernel. Also if you don't want to unlock, use a script to enable more governers for a kernel. Use those. On demand is not recommended for optimum performance.
