Does this get acquired from htcdev unlock? Or by flashing? Thanks.

You can get it from the s-off process if you are running GB firmware or I think you can get it here:

So, does that mean should I use EXT4 recovery as S-on or S-off? Thanks in advance if you can answer.

You are s-off, so that should be what u need.
Although you may be able to just flash the 1.13 Ruu (b/c of s-off) run revolutionary to get their hboot 1.40 & then update radio & ROM separately. I'm not sure but I have seen Unknownforce mention it in his thread. Just don't tryto "brick it" b/c it'd be permanent.

If you want to head back to HBOOT 1.40, just flash xHausx's PG86IMG_1.40-hboot from here (not the engineering HBOOT). Rename the zip to PG86IMG.zip and put it in the root of your SD Card.

Hi all:
So I updated to the latest OTA update and then infamously tried Regawmod's root method which didn't work so well. I've been able to relock the bootloader and now I wondered about removing the "Tampered" from the bootloader screen, or unroot.
The available RUUs don't match mine (1.22.651.3). Can I roll back safely using 1.22.651.2 or shall I wait for the .3 RUU? Many thanks in advance.
Bump.

The newest RUU is out, 651.3.

I am selling my Rezound today and i need to return it to its stock form. I am S-Off with ICS firmware and a different hboot. Cant remember which one. What are the steps i need to take? Do i just run the 2.01.605.11 ruu. Then put back to s-on and then relock bootloader?

I believe that should cover it, but depending on who you sell it to they're probably not going to notice s off

You didn't unlock through htcdev after you did s-off did you? If you didn't then theres no need to relock it will show locked.

No I didn't unlock. That's right. So will the next owner be able to receive ota's if I keep it s-off?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yeah as long as it has the stock recovery there shouldn't be a problem receiving ota's while s-off.
Sent From My HTC Rezound
Now what ota can I flash? Should I do the last latest gb one or the latest official ics one?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I would say go a head and flash the official ICS since it already started rolling out anyway.

i was wondering if there is an eng hboot 2.27 or a patched version that allows fastboot commands? i like my bootloader to say locked but had to unlock it after upgrading my firmware.

Yup. I'm watching unlimited.io like a hawk.

will you post something when/if there is one available?
Honestly, I found a locked s-off hboot to be sufficient. The only thing I can't do is flash recovery, so I keep TWRPs PH98IMG.zip on hand. Fastboot isn't needed that much after s-off.

I use fast boot frequently actually. Much easier imo. I know there are ways around not having to use fast boot commands but it can be a pita. Don't matter really since I unlocked my bootloader and i can get it to say locked again.

you can use fastboot commands you just have to be unlocked through htcdev.

you need an eng hboot to do fast boot commands. thats why they are still using 2.25 and not 2.27

i wonder what they did from 2.25 to 2.27. idk if the GSM ability needed something in hboot to make our phone a global phone or not.
If there are any devs out there that want to chime in, im all ears. i want to know what the difference is if they know.
I'm on 1.53.0007 and I just got s-off with the wire trick. Does that mean I can just flash a lower hboot version without trouble?
yes you can
Any hboot you desire.

Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
Yes. There is a thread with all hboots just flash via bootloader
