You can use a free battery calibrator app from the market or do it from the advanced options in Streakmod recovery

you should do it by Streakmod recovery/ Clockwork mod recovery

How do i install streak mod without usb connecting to the phone becuase "battery charger disabled"

There was a detailed thread on just this and I think the general consensus was that it's not possible.

My Streak currently is unable to charge . Tried the default charger and portable charger but to no avail . The funny thing is the charger is giving its output to my Streak but its not inputting the current .
I've tried my cable on my computer but its unable to read my Streak + used the cable to connect to my portable charger and connecting it to Streak but also not accepting current . I've cleared battery stats already . I'm currently at 1% thus there's really nothing much i could do .
Charger problem too ?

Not if the computer didn't recognize the Streak. In your case, it's the cable.

I cant get mine into fastboot modee! its so annoying!!

Nope. Changed the cable to a brand new one but still unable to charge or read through the computer.

Then the only other option is the port on the Streak is damaged. Especially since it's not taking a charge from either power source.

Had this problem last night in bed. Device was charging fine through albeit damaged original Dell charging cable. I had wanted to leave it charging but it wouldn't charge through that cable or the new cable (a cheap Chinese one) I had got previously. This morning, connected it to the laptop and the laptop recognised something was connected, the device lit up but with the picture of a charger and yellow exclamation mark. Went into fastboot and through *#301# had said;
Battery voltage= 3210mV (this value is decreasing)
Ave Current -306mA
Charge state 0%0%
Temperature 28.25C
No charger detected
HC Mode
DCIN OV: Yes USBIN OV: Yes
Battery charger Disabled
Battery too Hot did trip IRQ
Battert too cold did trip IRQ
Voltage test Fail
Temperature test Pass
I can boot into Fastboot, obviously, recovery and it does boot up, albeit slowly but the ROM has reset itself and says charger is invalid.

worst case scenario, get external battery charger.
and your battery is pretty much discharged way beyond the minimum limit...

I managed to charge my battery externally through a power pack and some leads. As a result the battery charges but I cannot vouch for it's ability to hold charge. It's holding pretty steady on airplane mode so perhaps it's okay. And it now says voltage pass in fastboot mode.
I've ordered an external charger and a new battery.
Quite a few of the pins are bent badly, which is a pretty bad design flaw as the pins are exposed, I had been using a cheap cable over the original Dell cable but that was poor quality and the sheath had pulled away exposing the inner wires. But the fact that it had been charging the battery leads me to think that charging wasn't affected but wasn't able to tell the device that it was charging and hence it thought it was at zero. But the fact it's recognised the charge and discharge has left me rather perplexed.

Note won't charge...

I have a white galaxy note on AT&T rooted with saurom 7.1 and for some reason when I use my USB extension with the original or after market charging wire the phone will not charge, in fact it still uncharges while I'm using it but it shows it plugged in.
It's not the rom because it did it before I flashed it from stock and also on the ICS leak and now again on saurom 7.1. Without the extension though it charges perfectly normal and quickly. One day it took 6 hours to go from 2% to 13% while it wasn't in use. I've also tried using other extensions I have and the one identical one did the same thing and another shorter one actually didn't allow the phone to charge at all or show it was plugged in... What gives?

I read that it wasn't a great idea to mess with the battery like that so I haven't tried. Plus like I said without the extension it works fine

I would recalibrated the battery using a app that requires root in market.....wait till it hits 100 then recalibrate it....then let it drain all the way down....charge to 100 then do it again....this way the battery and system knows the true values...just my opinion I would try

Are you plugging into a wall outlet or a USB port on computer. There are a number of battery threads on here, but the quick recap is that the USB port on your computer isn't going to charge your Note very quickly or at all when you use it because the USB port doesn't provide enough power.
It'll charge much faster from the wall.
And even faster if you're not using it.

From the wall with a USB extension it took 5-6 hours to go up 12% without it, it goes to 12% in 5-7 minutes. This is without using it.

I had the same problem with my note, it wouldn't charge via data cable or factory charging cable or 3rd party cable. After speaking with Samsung they said that this is a known issue, but did not tell me what the issue was except that it did not affect the battery. They sent me a new device, and was instructed to use my original back cover, battery, and they sent me a replacement factory charging cable and was instructed to use it exclusively. I got the feeling it was a port/cable issue and that they were well aware of it with an efficient return policy set up. Maybe you won't have to go this route, but a free (new, not reman) phone is a free phone.

[Q] Vibrant not charging.

Alright so my Vibrant won't charge. I JUST recovered my phone from a brick, (I was having issues with the battery life on Slim Roms 4.0 compared to 3.9--in the middle of flashing back I accidently wiped my internal memory. As I was recovering it using Odin, my fat cat jumped on my bed and caught on my phone cord bricking it.) Flashed using Heimdall and was able to get my phone into working order.
Now, I placed Slim Roms 4.0 back on my phone initially after the unbricking to have something working on it, even though the battery life less than impressed me.
So I charged it like normal yesterday, got it to 100% and was fine and dandy with it working. (Still sucking up battery life like a vampire in a fat camp.)
So the update 4.1 went live yesterday, I flashed it immediately to that. The battery life was amazing! So I do the normal thing when I flash to a new ROM. Let it die completely before charging it completely. It's now dead and will not charge.
Symptoms;
I plugged in my normal cable for work (a cheap cable I purchased off of Ebay.) And up comes the round loading symbol. Followed by a darkening of the screen, followed by nothing.
One thing to note, is while it has it's loading circle on, the bottom buttons light up when I touch them.
My Steps;
-I attempted different USB ports since I charge through my work computer. No luck.
-I "borrowed" my co-workers USB cord and USB to wall plug. Attempted the new cable in the computer first. No luck.
-Plugged the borrowed USB into the wall charger. Same thing happens.
-Used my own cheapy cable in wall charger. Same thing.
-Took co-workers complete set and plugged it in in a different room. Nothing.
-Took out my battery, plugged in USB, placed battery back in. Nothing.
-Hold down the Vibrant buttons to get into Bootloader, it resets the loading circle and nothing more.
So now I'm sitting here wondering what to do. I do not have rubbing alcohol readily available, however since it charged to 100% yesterday I do not believe that is the issue, but I'd be willing to try if I had access.
Something you should know, I am using a Samsung Epic 4G battery in my phone.
-For those who might judge saying it is dumb, I have gotten 54 hours out of that battery on one ROM before, that is with texting, talking on the phone and installing apps. I'm fond of this thing, however I have my stock battery at home still.-
Any suggestions you guys have would be appreciated. I have tried things that I found on this forum and basic tech support to no avail. (I am at work so the things I can use are fairly limited. However cords are of no shortage.)
Alright, I unplugged my phone from being plugged into the wall charger for an hour and 3 minutes later it decides to turn itself on.. Not sure what's going on but I'm not going to complain.
So my question now is, can anyone explain this or help prevent this in the future?
From what I've heard draining a battery until it dies can damage it. But, I'm not an expert on that. It's possible that the battery needed more time to recover from the drain.

I had something similar happen when running lithium volt ROM. My battery completely died and the phone cut off (obviously.) I plugged it in the charger and it immediately tried to boot the phone up but it was bootlooping at the startup screen. I let it sit there for 20 minutes or so thinking maybe it is charging but as soon as i unplug the charger the phone cut off. Luckily I have an extra battery, popped it in, flashed a new ROM thinking that was the problem, turns out it was something to do with the ROM(maybe it needed a certain amount of battery power to boot up). My completely dead battery worked on the cm7 ROM I flashed, plugged in the charger and it booted up normally and started charging.

Thank you. I might just have to downgrade back to 3.9. It's almost a shame. xD
I'm going to test my old battery in this ROM just to make sure before I downgrade.
You need to use your Samsung usb charger, and wall adapter only. These two are the only ones that will actually work. I had this same problem and realized it was because I wasn't using the Samsung stuff. Even when pugging into the computer, use the Samsung USB cabe only. As for the battery your using... I wouldn't recommend it, no matter the fantastic battery life you must be getting.

Thank you about the cable, I need to purchase another one anyways, mine at home seems to not be connecting very well. :/
ROM. some roms do that. it will not let you power up while charging if the battery is very low. you will get the circle and the battery symbol after. sometimes you still cant unless you pull the battery. happened to me many times

Battery not charging when off

Hi Guys,
I have searched the forums and i found that all the issues are with the phone on. My problem is the phone loses power when plugged into the PC when the phone is off and while plugged into the mains, it charges very very slowly. When it is on, the phone does not charge when plugged into the mains.
Do i need to get a new battery? Or should i go back to stock and see if it still occurs.
I am using cm10.1 nightly btw
Thanks

oh i forgot to add, i am using siyah and have pushed my usb charge to 900ma, and i used another current widget and it shows that the phone is drawing 899ma. that 1 ma does not really affect anything.
now the problem is when the phone is off, it shows charging but not really charging. i have wrote a program in c to see what current the cpu is outputting to the usb ports and it shows 500ma.
since it is 500ma shouldn't the phone be charging?
my question is will the kernel or rom affect the phone if it is off, if so it means i need to get a new battery.
But my battery can last 19hrs on a full charge, so i dont see how it is damaged.
Confused

In that case, do basic troubleshooting first:
Try with different cables. S3 cables have known issues with charging.
Try another port on the PC.
Try another PC/laptop.
Try other chargers.
Using the link I posted, check what is the current_max when you plug the phone to charge in each case. Details are in the first post of the linked thread.
Unplug and re_plug the cable from the phone when it is charging, several times if need be, to check if the charging current varies/increases.
Install stock and check if the issue persists.
Try with another battery (borrow from a friend, if needed).
If ask this fails, take it to the service centre. It might be an issue with the charging port.
Good luck!

ok i am on stock sammy rom now and it still has this problem.
this is what i know so far
my battery % shows 53%but my battery has 3.858 volts.
do i need to get a new battery or anything?
i might have damaged it due to always leaving it plugged in overnight for 1 year, but i thought li-on cells should have a chip to detect when they are full and automatically prevent anymore uptake of current
ok i am using inductive charging to charge my phone now, even though it is only 500ma, it charges faster then the 1A when using a wall charger.
So i guess that the microusb port is the one affecting it.

[Q] Phone shows it is carging however does not charge any battery..

Ok guys, I have a i9100 for almost 2 years now but the last 6 months I've been charging three batteries I purchased with an external charger due to that my phone when connected to either USB or AC power it shows as charging, even if it is off it will turn on the screen an show the battery logo, however, it does not charge the battery at all.
I can even see the battery level going down when it its connected what to me means that there's something with the charging circuit that is not sending the electricity to the batterry. Something important to note is that when I use a Stock ROM on it it gives me an error if I connect it to power that says "Battery Disconected", dunno what on earth that means.
I'd be nice if one of XDA Hardware Guru's could advice me on this matter cuz right now I'm tired of reminding what battery to charge and having a backup battery in my pockets. Maybe a mod to bypass the circuit and charge the battery directly? jus saying.
Hopefull

You can charge the batteries with a external charger, so the batteries are fine.
Did you try reinstalling your rom and doing full wipes and formats?
I highly doubt that the problem can be solved by a mod, it seems a hardware and not a ROM related prob.

[Q] Phone boots, but won't charge (normally)

So, I ran my Razr Maxx down to 0% battery the other day. (I know - don't do that...)
After much reading, I tore the phone apart and was able to charge the battery by connecting the red/black wires from a USB cable directly to the +/- screws on the battery connection.
I can now boot all the way into my ROM, stock or Eclipse (SafeStrap slot 1). The battery status shows 'charging (AC)'. But the % remaining is slowly dropping. It was at 44% when I first booted. It's down to 41% now.
I powered off and let the charging screen come up - it shows 50%, but it's not gaining any charge. Last night, I left it plugged in all night (powered off) and the battery was dead by morning. I think I started with ~ 30% charge that time. So, even though this shows 50% now, I suspect it's still discharging.
I've tried different chargers, including the Motorola charger.
I tried making a factory cable, but that doesn't seem to charge the phone - it appears to just provide power while bypassing the battery.
Any ideas on other things I can try to get this to charge off a normal charger & cable? Thanks!!

Well, I was able to connect via usb to my laptop and copy files of the internal sd. And the charging indicator shows that it is charging via usb/ac. Of course, it doesn't seem to actually be charging. Would that be possible if the usb port was broken?
Maybe something is wrong. To be 100% sure check it in BMM. Charge it 1hr and boot normally and check bat %

Okay... installed bmm from Google play...
When I first get into bmm, it shows 99% for the battery. After tapping around, it eventually updates and shows 13%. I powered off and waited for the charging screen, which shows 15% now.
I'm not familiar with bmm... is there any place aside from the status bar at the top that shows charging/battery status?
Is there any sort of battery calibration that might help?
Thanks...

Tried wiping battery stats, and still no luck...
So, right now it appears that:
1) The battery will NOT charge via the usb port, but WILL charge when I apply +5v directly to the battery.
2) The usb port is functional for connecting to a computer and transferring files over a usb cable.
Something that occurred to me today is that, when the phone was at 1%, I plugged it into a friend's charger. She has a Samsung Galaxy S4 - I'm not 100% sure if it was the factory charger, but I think it was. Could the charger somehow have damaged the phone such that it won't charge over the usb port (but somehow leave the usb port functional?)
Could replacing the battery have any chance of success? (Seems unlikely, since it can take a charge directly.)
Is there any other debugging I can do to narrow down the problem? Or is it time to give up? Is the phone likely to be useful to anyone for parts?
Thanks everyone so far for the suggestions...
