Arm band - HTC Amaze 4G

Does anyone use the armband for their Amaze? I saw another posting about it a while back but it didn't have much info. I'm not sure which one to go with...
(BTW I love green) I had a little mishap at the gym yesterday where I accidentally hit my headphone wire while using the elliptical and my phone went flying, so I told myself I'd get one of these LOL

None of them really have comments or ratings on there

I don't have any experience with those three, but I do have and really like this one.

Its cheap! I wasn't looking for one that was an incredibly high quality though. Just something that would work.

Thinking about getting one of these

Seriously tempted to getting one of these and selling my X1. Before I do can somebody tell me if the phone is responsive, I've only seen videos of pre-release demos and it seems a bit slow.
Also, the length of the phone, it measures 11.6cm which is about 1cm longer than the other htc models i've had. Does it look big? does it fit comfortablly in your hand?
Doesn't seem to be a lot of people on here who has the phone, not sure why that is, as it looks great and has a lot of hardware!!
It's definitely the most responsive Windows Mobile device I have ever had or seen. 528MHz helps a lot here.
It looked long when I first picked it, but after a day or so I got used to it. It feels really good in your hand and pocket thanks to its long-but-narrow design.
And it certainly isn't small but I wouldn't call it big either. Let's say average.
Thanks for you reply! That convinced me to go out and look at one then purchase one haha.
Very very nice phone. Need some help with profiles though. See my other post.
Welcome onboard.

stereo bluetooth headphones

Alright so I had a pair of motorola s9s for about 3 weeks before sweating on them at the gym broke them.
Does anyone know of any decent bluetooth headphones that are reliable (battery doesn'd die after a month etc. etc.) that work well with the G1?
I have the first generation Motorola bluetooth stereo headphones, the HT820. I originally purchased them back in 2007 to use with my t-mobile MDA (HTC Wizard), and they worked well then and they continue to work now. They are much bigger than anything Motorola has out now, but they do work. I currently have Cyanogen's ROM on my G1 and they did work with the original cupcake ROM from T-Mobile. These headphones also have a built in mic so you can take phone calls.
Hope this helps.
I recently purchased the Samsung SBH500 headphones. I have only had them for a few weeks so I cannot tell you long term reliability but I have really enjoyed using them. I have taken them on a run a few times and have had no trouble yet. I have read a few reviews of people complaining that they are unconfortable and ears get hot when working out with them. I have not experienced either. I have found these more comfortable than other around-the-neck sets. The ear padding is a little thick but it sort of muffles the ambient noise. I have found the audio quality for music and calls both outstanding. I would recommend these if you were looking for over the ear headphones.
You should try contacting Motorola about your s9s. When researching BT headphones, I seem to remember reading that Motorola knows that this is an issue. Perhaps they will swap these out for you. Good Luck!
S9-HD
I thought the S9's are supposed to be sweat resistant. I have a S9-HD and they seem to be holding up fine. I've been using them on runs and bike rides for a couple months now. I do admit though that not much sweat gets to them cuz most of my sweat evaporates as I run. When I stop moving, I start pouring sweat, which is when the headphones get hit the hardest. They're still working great.
I haven't tried the jaybird bluetooth headphones. They're supposedly water and sweat resistant. They sound like they're the bomb. I'm tempted to get a set. Here's a link for more info:

Hey guys thanks for all the replies!
I actually just ordered a pair of samsung sbh170's (if i remember correctly) they didn't have to many complaints besides being to small.
If they don't work i will definetly be checking out the sbh500's they look really nice, and i might get a pair for non gym use too. ( I never knew internet radio at work could be so addictive.)
I checked out the jaybirds before i bought the samsungs that should be coming in a couple days. They had mixed reviews on amazon, just like the s9's, and cost around $100-$120 so i think i'm gonna keep my distance from those, I'm a college student lol.
As for the s9's I didn't have the HD's, I had the older versions, which were apparently less sweat resistant than the new ones. I took them appart and it looks like the main circuit board got covered in sweat (there is discoloration).
I had initially thought it was the battery, but that would be hard to replace. The battery in them is a no name most likely chinese peice of crap, if anyone else is having a problem with the battery you may be able to retrofit a rechargable AAA batery in ( i played around with a voltmeter and the old battery appeared to be 1.5V's) but that would take a little bit of time and patients, I only paid 30 bucks for them, and used them pretty consistently for a month (pretty much every day at the gym too.)
If I had paid $100 at best buy then I would be more upset. I really liked the form factor on them and they were really nice to use at the gym, which is what upset me most about them breaking, its hard going back to wired headphones lol
I've broken two sets, 1 LG and the other I think was a Jabra set. They had both broken around the earpiece in almost the same place because of the plastic they used. While I didnt have any other issues with them, they only lasted about 3 or 4 weeks each.
I went with the s9's for the firm form also... I just made sure to wipe my head and the headset every so often and completely take them off when im cooling down. I will be implementing some fancy vinyl aka electrical tape on them soon to help from getting sepage into the control panels.
The sbh170's look good cause they are more flexible but the 500's look to be almost the same design of the two sets that I had. If I can find the LG set i'll snap a pic and show you what I mean.
i got the sony dr-bt101 headphones about a month ago and they work great. the only thing is they're a little big and over the ear not behind the neck..

oooh those look nice!
I use the HT850's mentioned earlier in this thread. they're a little big and (as someone else commented somewhere on xda) make me look princess leiah-ish but the sound good and work well w/ the G1.
For anyone wanting a cheap set I recommend the Insignia NS-BTHDP.

I got these almost a year ago and take them to the gym and snowboarding regularly so they have been dropped, smashed and covered in snow a lot. I picked mine up off of ebay with $10 winning bid (shipped). They aren't fancy but have survived well for being so cheap.
These are on their way to me. I'll let you all know what I think of them.

You guys would use those headphones while working out? Do they stay in place while jogging? Are they sweat resistant? Just from the looks of them, they are too bulky for me (at least while working out).

My s9's died yesterday... I mean DIED, they wont chrage no matter what
As much as I hate to go back to wired devices I really like the options the ones you picked up give. Small and simple with good support (body wide clip).
So please post when you can
I Have a question for you guys. I want a headset that I can listen to music with while wearing it on only one ear, so not headphones but a headset that has the A2DP and AVRCP. IF you guys know about one let me know because that way I can listen to music at work and look like im actually working hard.
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluetooth-stereo-headphones-features.php I have these but the audio goes in and out on my G1 and even worst on my laptop.
Get the Plantronics 855. The second earpiece is removable, and without it looks just like the HFP-only 815 but still plays at A2DP quality.

OK so they showed up today. I have them charging at work and will give them a go when I run tonight. I'll post results either tonight or tomorrow morning.
update: Well I can't get them to pair. They paired up fine with my nokia N95, but android is having trouble. If I could get it to let me enter the passcode 0000 manually, I am sure it would work. Any ideas?
update2: OK so I got them paired, finally, but they dont seem to be working. I got them connected but theres no sound coming through them. They do work well with my n95 however so that's even more frustrating. Sound quality is OK, but I am going to try and return them. Any questions before I do?
i sweat a whole lot and have yet to find any wireless that can stand up to the abuse. i bought the adapter from HTC that includes a mic and 3.5 adapter. 10 bucks from t mobile.
while it still has wires it hasnt fallen victim to the sweat. FML in Alabama during the summer.

BT Headphones?

So, I've decided to turn my G1 into PMP recently. I purchased a 2300mAh battery, along with the MUGEN battery cover(it looks awesome lol), and both items are on the way. Now, I'm trying to find a Bluetooth headset that works with the G1. I'm currently running a Hero ROM and I do understand that BT does not work, but I'm planning to switch to Cyan's latest whenever I finally pick what headphones I'm going to purchase.
So I'm currently looking at 2 options, a good friend is selling his Insignia NS-BTHDP for $25, he's been using it on his iPhone 3GS and it still works well. The other option is this:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8422~r.11584639
It's simply a BT dongle. I personally would much prefer this as I'm not too fond of over-the-ear headphones, and I've got a pair of excellent Sony headphones that I've been using for almost 2 years now. Now the problem is, I've heard a bunch of conflicting reports with this dongle. A search on XDA led me to a thread with a user saying that his does not work, and another user giving out links that it does indeed work.
So I guess my question is that, do any of my 2 options work well with the G1?
And if not, do you guys have any suggestions for BT headphones that work well with the G1? Preferably something that's less than $30 because I'm starting to run on a tight budget here.
Thanks.
did someone used it? or buyed it. I'm seriusly interested in... but it worth the cost???
check out motorolla s805's or ht820 or s9, should be able to find on ebay new for roughly 30 dollars. I currently use the s805's with my G1. they work great, i purchased a pair of ht820's in the past for my Wing, i found them uncomfortable for extended use though.
I would avoid that second "dongle" you linked to. Very cheap and probably rubish!
I am currently using a Jabra BT3030 with my G1 and love it! Like you I don't like the over ear/round head ones and find them very uncomfortable to wear so wanted something to just use with normal earphones.
Works very well with a super long battery life. The earphones included with it are very good too!
http://www.jabra.co.uk/Sites/Jabra/UK-UK/Headsets/Pages/JabraBT3030.aspx
I got a Sony DR-BT101 for G1. Works like a charm.
I bought the cheap "dongle" from deal extreme and it wouldn't pair with my g1 or my n95. I figured it was a bum unit, but it would have cost more to ship back than it was worth.
Others have posted in various threads that they have had success with it however. I am considering buying a 2nd one and seeing how bad my luck is.
Seriously... you're waisting your money! Save your money and put it towards a decent/brand one!
Even if you do get it to work it's never going to be as good as a decent one. By the time you've bought two you could have bought one decent one!

Try These

Thats what I use.. They can be easily inserted into a helmet (snowboard/ski) I havent tried any other helmets..
Love em, they are 4 months old now and I go everywhere with em'..
2 thumbs up on this set... buy with confidence!

Wireless headphones...

I'm lookin for wireless headphones for my 3vo... Of the earbud variety... No bands or anything... Does such an animal exist? And, if so how much?

I love the jaybird bluetooth earbuds.
You can find them at bestbuy for $99
quality is great and they're warrantied for life against damage from sweat
(they're made for working out so they stay in place quite well)
I use them while running & lifting and I rarely have to readjust them or pop them back in. They stay nicely.

I own the same ones. They do NOT work with the EVO 3D (or at least with mine). It moves more than 6-8" away from the device and drops connection.
I'm going to Sprint to have them help troubleshoot, as HTC has been helpless on the issue apparently the only test they do before shipping the phones out is ensure that it pairs with devices, no other sorts of testing.
I love my Backbeat 903+ with my iPod Touch and NS4G when I had it... Not impressed with the EVO 3D.
I can recomend the Jabra Halo. Work well on my 3vo. Mine are a little busted but soundwise are good and clear.

With my iPod touch and OG EVO they worked great. I could be 50 feet away with minimal audio quality loss, or problems.
I have this http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-S305-Bluetooth-Headset-Packaging/dp/B002BH3I9U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310227553&sr=8-1 and it works very well with my evo 3d. It is not very expensive and sound quality is good for 40$ Bluetooth headphone. It is also top selling Bluetooth headphone on amazon. You can find it in best buy for almost same pries (Sacramento, CA), so you can buy it and if you don't like it, return it.(I bought it 8 mounts ago when I had my evo 4g, you may find better Bluetooth headphone right know. Technology grows fast ;D)
I have the Acoustic Research bluetooth receiver. It turns ANY speakers or headphones into bluetooth wireless. Works great on my earbuds and my home living room surround sound. I think I only paid between $20-30 for it, had it for about a year now with not one issue. Model number is ARWH1

they sounded awesome, fit well, but the range was horrible. About 8 foot line of sight, but once I clipped the phone to my belt or put it in my pocket, cut outs everywhere.
Sad, I had high hopes.

This describes EVERY bluetooth device I have ever tried. Over the years, I've tried Jawbones, Motorolas, other name brands and even a few no-name brands. I've probably spent a few hundred bucks in search of something that works, but as soon as the phone goes in my pocket, the quality and connection goes to ****. Maybe it's just me, but bluetooth in general seems like a spotty technology. I'm waiting for the next big thing, whatever that might be.
My phone headset works just fine in my pocket, on my belt, etc. I use it every day for hours and can walk around usually up to 25-30ft from my phone.
I have an older Jabra BT3030 dongle that does stereo and did the exact same tests I did with this headset and it worked just fine. Sadly the batteries are just about toast on it.
wow thats crazy.. i just purchased the jaybirds and they have some crazy range! i can easily without a doubt say the range is more than 10 ft.. i even tested it and walked in clear line of sigh across my living room and it worked just fine.
edit, i will say for voice calls, if your in the car, and driving fast, creating road noise, the other person wont really make out what your saying.

Put your phone in your pocket or a belt clip or something and jogging. It's not the line of sight range that's important for headphones that are labeled as sports.

[Q] Sol Republic Tracks Air on sale

Does anyone have a pair? I'm not looking for something audiophile quality. More something nice, wireless and comfortable (worry about that part with this set). They are <$100 on Motorola right now.
http://www.motorola.com/us/accessories-headphones-speakers/TRACKS-AIR-by-SOL-REPUBLIC-x-Motorola/TRACKS-AIR-by-SOL-REPUBLIC-x-Motorola.html
Any other recommendations. Since it's a 2-day sale, kinda wanted to jump on them, but I figured I'd give my CC a break for a few minutes first.

I bought a pair for my wife earlier this year for her birthday and she absolutely loves them. The audio quality is quite good for a bluetooth pair of headphones and the range is amazing. They're also very light and have good battery life. She actually uses them at the gym a lot and she says they don't get in the way and are comfortable. Noise isolation is good as well since she uses them to drown out other people talking to her when she's trying to work.
At $99 I would say they're definitely worth it.

Check out the Jaybirds BluebudsX. I've had mine about 15 months and they are the best bluetooth earphones I've had. Especially if you plan on doing physical activities with them. They sound fantastic, are super comfortable, have a great range, and battery is great for something the size they are.

Thanks. I've heard great things about the BlueBudsX... unfortunately I can't trust anything in-ear to stay in. I've had countless buds... none stay unless they are over the ear. My ears are a bit misshaped. Not like horror movie, nor really noticeable at all... but nothing stays in on me. I had my ubilical cord wrapped behind my ears and across my forehead when I was born, which makes me think that was the root cause. I don't think I'll run in these... I doubt they are the slightest bit water resistant. I have a pair of cheap over-the-ears that I run with now that I will continue to use.
FYI, these went back instock and still 50% off if anyone is interested.
I own the Sol Republic Tracks Air. I think they're amazing, but then once I installed ViPER4ANDROID, boy, you have no idea. Better than some more audiophile-style headphones.
