BIG thanks to sixstringsg for building nightlies for us on his server as official CM nightlies cannot be enabled for our device yet as there is still some stuff broken.
These are technically unofficial, so please do not file bug reports to FreeXperia or CyanogenMod, and instead post issues in this thread.
You can download the ROM from here: http://androtransfer.com/?developer=nightlies&folder=zeus
The ROM is GSM, so if you are a CDMA user, flash this over the top. If you are CDMA and are flashing this for the first time, please post for more assistance.
Working:
Video decoder for playback
Camera back and front
GSM & 3G Data
WiFi
Bluetooth
GPS
USB Tethering
Touchpads (semi-working, our implementation)
Game pad
Sound
3D and 2D (adreno)
Recovery
FPS uncapped
Stereo sound
Audio over Bluetooth
Video recording
Not working:
Full touch pad support.
WiFi hotspot
Bug reports on this thread please.
Remember, sixstringsg is behind this, so he is the one to thank.
They should build every night, if they don't build for three or four nights in a row, shoot me a PM and I'll fix it. I should notice before then though.

Nightly means every night, or close to it. It is good because then you can update the ROM frequently.
And don't forget to thank sixstringsg's post!

Actual developing or not, you're still being a big help.
On another note, are these nightlies of FXP's CM9, or is it actually part of the main CM9 tree now?

Now that my questions are done, would you be so kind as to link that update.zip for porting r800i roms to r800x in the op? Pax has linked his thread to this one, and it may just be me, but I would think that having all parts in one place would be the most beneficial.

Remember, R800x users, if you're doing a fresh flash of this rom, you will need to remove those assert lines from the updater-script using notepad++ or similar program. I forgot about this and am now doing it myself.

CM9 is (I think) the most popular AOSP-based rom (meaning it's derived from stock Android, without any manufacturer modifications). It adds extra settings, toggles, a theme framework, etc. Because of its popularity its usually quite stable and things get fixed pretty fast.

I don't really get what you mean but if you're just asking whether a new build will be released every day, yes. If you're asking whether it will automatically update after you've flashed it, I don't think so. You'll have to download and flash new builds yourself.

One noobish question from me.
When CM10 is out, will it be totally new ROM (with 1000 bugs) or will it continue where CM9 is now?
I mean, if they have fixed something in CM9, like video recording, can we expect it also to work in first CM10 release or is totally unrelated to CM9?

Most features, once they fix the most basic errors they're having (wifi, sdcard, 3g), all the other bugs seem to have worked themselves out for the most part, check out the thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092493
we're probably a few months away from a fully built and daily usable rom
So, now that JB for the Xperia P/Go has released, I guess we can discuss CM10 for Xperia U
Hello.
1. Are there some devs here that that already have JB roms like 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 and are now working on building a 4.3.0 rom?
I do know that CM 10.2 it out in early stage.
Don´t know if dews want to keep unreleased work a secret, but it would be nice to know if some recognized devs are at least planning on a rom based on 4.3.0 for our SGS2
2. What advantages and features/new things can we expect with 4.3.0?
Thanks for answers

Think about it this way...You're a developer; the SGS2 was released >2 yrs ago & has been superceded twice (and will likely be superceded again within 12 mths), why would you bother putting yourself through the kind of grief you go through (as a result of Samsung's stupidity with sources) everytime a new Android version is released yet again for a phone 3x superceded ?
Answer - very few devs would bother. If I were one, I would have moved on from the SGS2 12 mths ago.

I get your point.
But the other roms live on. It´s still has a large amount of users in the world.
Why not do it just for fun? That it can be done? The dev still use a SGS2?
I can think of many reasons to do a rom based on 4.3.0.

In the future, will it be possible to extract Nexus5 rom/updates and apply them directly to G2 ?
Just asking, because G2 and Nexus are sharing a lot of same hardware.
It'll probably be easier to port Nexus5 rom, instead of having a lot of work on a common 10.2CM ?

Its fairly easy to port ROMS from Nexus 5. However reading log cats is the main thing here. Thankfully most people can't read log cats so it stops the noobs flood the place with terrible ports. To answer your question yes it can.

there is a guy with a video on youtube that says he has files to download to the g2 to make it a virtual nexus 5. he demos it and says the files are in the description but I did not see them there. Yea the Optimus G Pro already received 4.4 based off the N4. I'm suprised we haven't got 4.4 based off the N5 yet. Perhaps the devs are still getting comfortable with the new hardware.
Real good to know about the N5/G2 ease of porting. I'm particularly curious about the kernels and how similar they are to one another. Moving forward with newer versions of Android, the kernels are the important thing.
I'm hoping it'll be easier to port roms over. The only concern I have is whether or not they'd work with the VZW version. Not sure if you could use the RIL from the G2 or a new file from scratch would have to be made to be able to get working data.

Sure, if you want to try compiling it yourself. There are excellent instructions in the developers forums at the top of the main forum. No one here is currently working on a PA ROM.
If you'd like to try out a ROM that includes the main features of PA as well as the best of Evervolv, CyanogenMod, and AOKP try @josegalre PACman ROM, but it is currently at JellyBean-4.3 or if you really want to try KK either @sportsstar89 CyanogenMod-11 or @jeepers007 Evervolv ROMs, but they are still buggy (as are most KK ROMs for legacy devices like ours at this time) and in more of a beta state then ready for daily driver use.

I don't see a thread here to discuss the CM 11 official nightlies, what people think of the ROM, so I created this.
So if you have used one of the July CM11 nightly builds please let us know:
-Any bugs on the ROM? Major, minor?
-How is the ROM stability?
-Responsiveness?
-Does the ROM auto update using cyanogenmod built in OTA updates?

I tried it for a short time, but couldn't really see the point when I could just keep using the GPe ROM with Xposed.
Sure, CM has other features that are great, but it doesn't seems as stable as the GPe ROM? Or maybe that was just my initial impression. There's very little info and documentation on CM for the Ultra, so we also have NO clue about potential bugs and so on, so that's annoying.
That's why I created this thread, no one has ever given any feedback on the cm11 ROM, specially the latest July releases which have now become true nightly releases which may mean that the build is now stable.

Yes there could be bugs in one and not the other - case in point the camera not working in the GPe ROMs of 4.4.4 but was in the togari
I know theoretically there can be, I'm talking about reality, someone who has used the ROM and can report bugs.
I find it very strange that there isn't a discussion thread for either the Xperia ZU or the GPe CM11 ROM, how are people supposed to report bugs to the CM team?
Do they at least have a device specific change log ?

I know theoretically there can be, I'm talking about reality, someone who has used the ROM and can report bugs.
I find it very strange that there isn't a discussion thread for either the Xperia ZU or the GPe CM11 ROM, how are people supposed to report bugs to the CM team?
Do they at least have a device specific change log ?

It can't be done as far as I can tell. I opened an account to report to their jira system which was closed as invalid due to it being a nightly build. Posted in CM forum for device and didn't get a response, posted to freexperia's G+ because one of their members was listed as CM maintainer and didn't a response.

I'm loving it, honestly. I don't think that I have had many bugs at all. I'm running the 9th nightly for July, and it's beautiful. Bear in mind, I change my DPI to 400.
CM11 is 4.4.4 alreay?

Yup.
oops
The last time I used CM nightlies it still had some issues. For example scrolling trough menus was still laggy and the SONY logo randomly appeared.
I have to test it again, because there was a monthly snapshot lately, maybe they fixed some issues.
