looking for latest stock rom or gingerbread based MIUI - Optimus One, P500, V General

Just got a P503 that I'm trying to set up for my girlfriend. I know how to use KDZ update and LGMDP. I got a custom recovery on it. I understand the difference between the basebands.
The problem is I can't make any sense out of the Development section. Also, a lot of the links are down (multiupload and megaupload).
This thread: [ROMS] Original LG Firmware list: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479, doesn't seem to work. I also have the the "Original LG Firmware" download tool, don't remember which thread I got it from, which is supposed to download the latest firmware for the phone. It downloads a V10K_00.kdz. I thought all of the firmwares were V20 by now, or am I wrong?
I'm looking for either 1) latest stock rom, preferably with Chinese language (she's Chinese), also can be slightly modified, maybe over-clockable, or 2) good stable gingerbread based MIUI rom. Can someone help me out?
If you know of another rom that is either as stable as stock, or more stable, and has an extremely easy to use interface, also please let me know. After I give the phone to my girlfriend, I don't want her calling me everyday with problems because of the phone.
Also, as far as I can tell, the P500 and P503 are the same phone with different firmware right? Any firmware compatible with the P500 can be used on the P503. I even saw a few threads where people mentioned LG customer support said this.

Dynamite
Try dynamite.. It's there in the O1 development section. It is based on the stock ROM. I've personally tried it, it's really good and I switched to other ROMs only because I missed the customisation that CyanogenMod offers...

take a look at this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616069
it's has the iOS user interface (and i think that this one IS extremely easy to use interface),based on CyanogenMod nightly and it available in Chinese....
Now it's up to you to see if it is stable enough to your girlfriend

I looked at and installed the JoyOS. It's nice, got a lot of great features. But it just doesn't feel as awesome as the MIUI on my U8800. It might be a difference in the phone, or it might be the Chinese apps I'm installing with it for my girlfriend, or it might be the OS. Not sure. I'll try Dynamite tomorrow.
However, if anyone knows of a really stable MIUI rom, please let me know. The ones I've seen have problems with apps installed to the SD card.

Back Up ROM/Firmware before upgrade

Hi All,
Is there a way to back up the ROM/firmware on the phone before upgrading?
Thanks.
but why?
you do know that your rom is not uniqe it's 100% the same thing as any other rom with the same brand and same version nr
if you don't like the rom you try out you can just flash it with the same brand / version rom you got and you're back to square one
otherwise check out the wiki for more backup info
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Himalaya
The reason why I want to back up my original ROM/XDA installation is because after reading a lot of information regarding ROMs, they all seem to be customised and bloated with stuff I don't want/need.
Ideally, I just want to be able to upgrade the OS, and not have to worry about any tweaks or other programs someone has put into their ROM.
Thanks for the link, I've had a look. I was hoping that someone would already have a ROM but as you have said, a lot of customisation by the operators.
all roms here and in the wiki I linked to are not cooked the official ones like the one you already use are available too
since 2006 I´m using Custom ROMs from this Site
meanwhile i´m not flasing only my own Mobiles ,
I was never dissapointed!
....and I think you will not Missing ANYTHING from your Original ROM
well, except you have the Time to Drink a Cup of Coffee ....while waiting
for Response of the Original Branded ROM
The only thing worthy for backup..are your own Files !!

stock or custom rom?

Hi Guys,
I would like to ask you a question.
I just got the lastest updated from viewsonic for my gtbab. This upgrade includes some improvements such as : support for mouse and keyboard usb, french and spanish language , full flash support...
So at this point.. I am wondering...is still a good idea to install a custom rom?
If so, could you please point out what real advantages I can get once installed a custom rom?
It's important for me if it is worth to do it. So I need your real expertise in the subject.
Thanks
ralex76,
It really just depends on what meets your needs.
The current stock ROM -- 1.2.4349 -- is way improved from the old software we got
back last November. But it still does not have Market and some of the little fixes
the devs have come up with here.
I would note that roebeet already has posted that he will not be too long in posting
a new version of his TwoTapsX alternate ROM based on the new update. I am sure
he will build Market and fixes into it just like he has all his ROMs in the past (though
I can't speak for him). So that will make it a pretty close alternative to stock with
everything in it.
Then, there's Vegan, Gingerbread, Calkulin and a whole host of other ROMs with a
wide variety of looks and features.
The choice is yours based on (1) what you like and want, and (2) how much risk
to you want to take in learning to flash ROMs (and if needed troubleshoot, etc.)
I tell all new folks to go slow, read hugely here, notice what mistakes everyone
else is making so you don't make them yourself -- and have fun!!!
Rev
I think you just need to search around and look at the benefits of each ROM and compare it to your tablet. We don't know how and for what you are using your tab, so it is up to you if a ROM is more suitable for your situaion.
I think if you are fine with the stock ROM and don't see anything that you would want differently, don't bother flashing something else.
Also, make sure to look at Roebeets post regarding the newest OTA update!

Cyangenmod OTA.....Where is it?

I've just started using CM9 again haven been on stock Samsung ROMs for most of my S3 usage. I remember seeing something on Twitter about custom ROMs now supporting OTA In Android and assumed that CM9 would be one of the first ROMs to use it. I don't see I anywhere though. Is it not built into the latest Cyanogenmod ROMs out of the box (as it were)?
If not, why not? I would have expected every custom ROM to have this as part of their package. I love OTA updates and having them in a custom ROM will make the experience seem so much more professional.
Just intrigued, chaps. It's not the end of the world but I was kind of expecting to see it. I tried downloading what appears to be the official app but when I try to install it it says that the developer hasn't added support for it. Which I suppose does answer my question but doesn't provide a reason!
Thanks anyway.

[Q] The Most Stable Custom ROM for L9 P765

Dear friends,
It looks like we lost few great dev so far, and face a lot of abandoned rom. Since then, i would try to use one custom ROM for my daily driver, and to use it a long time (since i would go abroad and will not flashing the device on abroad). Which custom ROM is most stable for daily use, and no need to update baseband (because i found it so hard to update). Thanks friends..

Hello.
I'm using currently Rammars Paranoid 4.4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-l9/development/rom-paranoidandroid-4-6-t2933958 , been using it for daily use(mostly twitter, whatsapp and instagram), no problem with that, pretty smooth fast, i suggest using Nova launcher, and if you like eye candy, get the Androidl theme from playstore, as far as you keep away from gaming, and really heavy apps, it is stable. No kernel panics, no unexpected shutdowns/reboots. All great. But the onlydownside, surprinsgly the best battery life i stumbled upon was for rammars lollipop, 5.3.2 the most stable to be exact.
Still, i`m right now about to restore CWM backup of a nandroid (v20h) to be back on stock, becaue, honestly, there won't be a more stable ROM than stock.
If you still have a stock rom installed, updating rom and baseband won't be difficult, if OTA or the LG Flash Tool won't give you anything newer than v20h(like in Europe) you need the appropiate KDZ file.
With a custom rom, seemingly the LG drivers and tools no longer recognize the phone, and getting back to stock or updating bb gets a bit complicated. I wrote down my sad story in Artas' thread, an finally I even succeeded, it's all there.

Sorry for offtopic, but getting back to stock is pretty easy if u use NANDROID, but if you want a full wiple, like the way you bought it, no CWM no nothing, KDZ flashing does the trick.
I'm sorry, didn't notice the baseband thing, on what baseband are you at?
hi i'm used 4.4.4. artas and think it's the better i have a p768

developing custom rom for G700, all xda veterans please help me!!

Actually I have many question
I think when a newbie like me start to work on rom development then there are several questions arises in mind basically like what I am going to ask here, my purpose is to get all this doubts cleared before starting so that I can start to focus on things. I don't know if my questions will help other newbies like me but it will literally help me a lot .
I am trying to develop a custom rom for ascend g700 as i have seen it among the most hated device among developers , no one want to do anything for this phone and it can accomodate a lot of upgradation. I have seen g700 users begging inside CM forum to build a latest ROM for this device, I have also seen g700 owners begging on huawei website to upgrade their devices but huawei doesn't even feel like to give a word to it. and I feel really bad about this .
So i just want to build a good looking, working, clean, latest by look and feature rom for Ascend g700 for all users, there are various reasons why I want to do that:
1) One of the biggest reason why I am here is I want to see g700 users smiling with joy that finally somebody has updated their device, I want all g700 owners to feel worth buying the device.
2) No working custom rom is available for this device yet.
3) No Cyanogenmod rom available.
4) This device configuration seems potentially great which literally needs update (atleast up to kitkat).
5) And personally I don't like UI emotion of this phone besides that google play store has some bug which makes icons background looks black which is a sore to eyes, Huawei did nothing for this device yet except just earned the bucks from it. I hate the companies who are ignorant about their customers.
I don't want to bore anyone reading my thread but i have lots of questions to resolve before i start to develop something for this device and I hope i will succeed.
Okay so let's get started with my questions, all veterans are requested to kindly share their vast knowledge and help me understanding the facts. thanks in advance .
Objective: what i am trying to do is, trying to find out the latest possible (Lollipop) rom which I can use as base rom to flash this device (Ascend G700) or just build a custom one fully working.
1 First: Are there any neutral latest android rom versions are available from google official websites to start using on any device or to start develop it for any particular device?
If "yes" then from where i can get it?
If "No" then from where the companies get their android roms on first hand as a clean plain base android rom to make it their own rom?
2 second: Can i just install any rom of any phone and it will start to work?
If "No" then what maybe the problems that I would first encounter?, what can I do to fix that any such known problems?
3 Third: I have heard about porting rom by changing things inside rom like replacing kernel of base rom with my stock rom, Kernel of my stock rom (4.2.1) can work with lollipop rom (5.0.0)? if yes then which lollipop rom would be best to use for (G700) and from where I can get one?
4 Fourth: Can I use my old kernel, camera and radio from stock rom in newer lollipop rom will it work? is it possible to do that?
5 Fifth: Can I use any kernel on any phone? or there are any specific particular to device types? or is it necessary to use the old kernel?
6 Sixth: If I flash my phone with custom new rom the radio will also be flashed with it automatically? even if I doesn't want to? How would I know that the rom i am going to use contains the flash files for radio also? and can i remove that? and use rest of the rom?
7 Seventh: If i flash my phone with new custom rom what are chances that it's camera will not work? or radio maybe affected?
8 Eighth: What can i do to port my camera from stock rom to new custom rom which I want to flash. the camera of old rom (4.2.1) can work with lollipop (5.0.0)?
9 Nineth: The device is a dual sim, any special thing to keep in mind before flashing a rom? a rom should necessarily be valid for dual sim? are there any specific types?
Please all the veterans from XDA are requested to provide inside to all these questions of mine, so that I can start working on my custom rom, I seriously want to upgrade this phone please help
Any help from anyone who knows anything related to any question of mine are welcome to share their knowledge.
Thanks in advance .
