Electrify Question - Motorola Photon 4G

I just got my electrify and I'm just wondering where to find information on rooting it and if maybe there is another forum somewhere for it. Any information is helpful. Thank you.

sorry if this has been posted i couldnt find any where, i am rooted, unlocked shipped 2.3.5 electrify running miui, my question is no matter what rom im on even my rooted stock, when i charge battery to 100 even if i charge over night battery monitor widget instantly drops to 99 when i unplug, may not be the biggest deal but it is annoying, does anyone have any ideas how to fix this or is it just an electrify thing. as always any and all information is greatly appreciated.

My photon does the same thing so I think it's normal

thank you for the reply

An Electrify's just a Photon with 4G gutted out. Or rather, Sprint's WiMax chip. Some say it's not real 4G (or at least not LTE). As an owner of a 3G phone, I couldn't care much less about the difference.
I rooted mine using the Torpedo method. It's posted here and at Team US Cellular's site. I unlocked (shipped 2.3.5) using the Electrify.zip method, flashed the included CWM recovery, and installed Joker's CM9 build of ICS. Much happier with my Electrify now.

does anyone know if there is a sbf for shipped 2.3.5 on electrify in case i ever need it, dont want to lose unlock capabilities. thanks for any and all info.

[Q] Droid X2 SBF file available yet?

I got a new Droid X2 a couple weeks ago. I wasn't happy with how slow the phone was so I attempted to root my phone and remove the bloatware. To make a long story short I now have a phone stuck in a boot loop. Apparently the only fix is to flash it with an SBF file. Does anybody know of it being leaked yet? Are there any good resources to keep an eye on where it may get leaked to?
nope. just pay attention to the boards here and elsewhere.
I've checked the forums in every category for the DX2 every day waiting for some one to say they got one.

<sigh> I'm looking here and a few other places every day. If I come across it somewhere else I'll post it here.
Is there a way to extract it? If you can give me directions I would be willing to pull it from mine.

Best way to unlock photon and keep 4G

I have a rooted photon, and am wanting to go the unlock route, but cant be without my 4G. According to reading on here, unlocking breaks 4G, unless you take the "long road". Is there any other way to do this, I have not been able to find the method that superseded the "long road". Any help will be great appreciated.
Section 8
I don't know about 4G, but if you want it unlocked, give it to any brother standing on the corner in the hood named "Bones" or "Smokey!" (They will also unlock car, house and any other security measures in place!!
Not possible. Unlock= No 4G as of now.

The "Long road" you mean is most likely from a while ago with Alien Rom where you could unlock, flash the Rom, create a backup of the rom, relock then use Bootstrap to flash your backup you made of the Rom. And then you would have a locked bootloader (4g working) AND be on a custom Rom, however you couldn't use a custom kernel so no overclock or kernel tweaks. Most of the newer Roms won't work to do that with, as far as im aware. There are locked Roms like Rocko and a few other that allow you to use Bootstrap and maintain your 4g though, they just won't provide the full experience that a full Rom with custom kernels do.
Is anyone aware of a dev activley working on fixing the Wimax keys?

From what I have seen and read following the ICS threads for multiple variations is that until Motorola releases ICS keys... we are all SOL on the 4g. Once they do (which most people project will be by June) the devs will work it in as soon as possible. I do miss 4g a bit.. but ICS after the unlock is worth it to me over 4g.
IMO it is worth it to lose 4g. Im unlocked on cm9 ics and it is the best rom so far. a few bugs but thats something i can live with
I was running CM9 for a bit, but after a series of unfortunate events, i was forced to flash back to stock. I had all intents to unlock again, but the speed of 4g is just so nice! that is, if you are in a 4g area. i haven't gone back to unlocking the BL for about a month.
I live in an area without 4g so it was easy for me to decide to unlock. I'm running cm9 and couldn't be happier. I can't wait till 4g gets fixed tho. Rumor is wimax is getting switched to LTE and we will be able to use the Verizon 4g service.

The photon won't be able to use LTE, it is only designed for WiMax - so if you don't have 4g now, you won't until you buy one of the LTE phones coming out for Sprint.

Shabby, Joker, DeedScreen and a few others clarified this back in November. Its a dead horse. This phone does NOT have a LTE Radio. No software or drivers will change that!!
If you go to the FTC website, they have pictures of open Photon with arrorws pointing to the interworking?

[Q] porting CDMA to GSM

First off I would like to say that this question has nothing to do with the photon.. I also have am Atrix 2 (GSM). I am wondering if anyone could help us out over there.. I can't post this question there because nobody there now's how to do this lol. We are trying to get ics on the Atrix 2 and porting aokp from the Droid 3 works near flawlessly. Everything works except for calling/SMS/data the usual, well obviously because it is a cdma device and the Atrix 2 is a GSM device. These ports are stable enough for daily use if only we could figure out a way to convert them to take advantage of the GSM radio...
Could someone please give some helpful advise for this matter? I'm posting here because out of all the devices I feel the people here are the most knowledgeable and this is also a cdma/GSM world phone so it seems more relevant lol

I just checked it out. It contains moto lib files and the buildprop is too heavily modified for the photon. Though I'm wondering if I could take that GSM fix and just edit the buildprop for the Atrix 2. But lib files are my concern. I didn't see any in the zip so that means his fix is using what's already on the phone. In the buildprop edit he has there are lines directing to the path of specific lib files. Those will be different between each device

Would pulling the libs from the Atrix CM7 work? Sadly i dont have an Atrix to play with to help but i have been trying to talk my girlfriend into getting one.

Best Bootloader Unlock Methods?

I recently got a job with Sprint and ordered a photon 4g to use on my employee line so I'll be able to get the next phone when it comes out, what's generally the best method to achieve an unlocked bootloader? I've rooted and unlocked many devices including the Motorola Atrix which I know is very similar.

You won't be able to unlock unless as an employee you can somehow load 2.3.4. Right now, there is no way to unlock 2.3.5.

Hate to be the party pooper, but you cannot unlock 2.3.5 254_13 or 254_12. There are many threads covering this. You can root it, add bootstrap, and use one of a few locked "ROMs" (for example mof9336's MOF 2.3.5. Slim {locked} De-Blur 4.5.1A-1_SUN-254_13).
It came with it, I have 254_13

You're permanently locked. You'll never see a custom ROM. Besides locked stock ones. Bleh. I'd recommend a new phone. Unless you love it and gingerbread that much.

This is a very lofty goal. Moto f*cked this thing so much that we would need a miracle to unlock 2.3.5. I'm not saying you shouldn't try, and with no development experience myself I have no room to talk. I just know that others have tried and have been fruitless, or frauds... I do hope you can crack this **** open, however. This is a devoted community and the ones still with a photon know how great a device we have. I plan on using this phone until it won't boot anymore and I hope that we can bring it to its full potential.

Okay ladies and gentleman I know were all looking for a method to unlock bootloader for 2.3.5 on our photons, don't give up. I'm using my photon on family mobile by doing the methods described in a previous thread. I used RSD lite to flash a us cellular sbf file. I followed all instructions and now I'm using my locked photon on 2.3.5. I flashed kddi file and have my GSM radio unlocked with peetr's rom. Its all working smoothly so I say to all my fellow locked photon users ... you can still use your phone on any GSM network. I know we want to flash a ICS or JB rom but for the time being the method works. Don't give up cause it will be a pity if xda lets this awesome phone go.
