Me and my friend have been trying to get into fastboot for quite a while on this tablet, but we don't know exactly how to do it. His tablet's bootloader is unlocked, and we're trying to get CWM Recovery on it so he can flash a new ROM, and get rooted.
Anyone can help us out here, thanks. And if you know how to get there, please explain in great detail how to get there. Again, thanks.
Turn the tablet off. Power on while holding the volum down button when you boot it. It will tell you to push up for recovery for 5 seconds and when you ignore that message, you will see the screen change to three icons, the middle one is fastboot and is a usb icon. Press volume down to select the fastboot icon and volume up to open it.
To get into recovery you just power with volume down held until you see the boot screen and text at the top. Press volume up to get to recovery when you see that message on the top of the screen. Ignoring it will take you to the fastboot and wipe everything bootloader screen. You can use the vipermod tool to root and install recovery easily.

You can turn off the phone by pressing simultaneously

My phone is in boot loop right now and when I hit power and vol down, my phone with continually vibrate for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes out... but then it just boots up again
You can try push volume down button (and keep it pressed down)
at the same moment that screen goes out, maybe you can reach
AP Fastboot-mode in this way?
Well I can get to the menu for AP Fastboot
But im at work.. i dont have the file or RSDLight here at work.
But I can get to the recovery and it gives me the option for "factory reset" or "apply update from SDcard".
If I have a backup from bootstrap, can I use that file under the "apply update from SDcard" option?
EDIT: No you cant apply from SD (a recovery)
I think that yuo can't use backup from bootstrap via Motorolas recovery...
Maybe only way is install correct OFFICIAL Motorola ROM via AP fastboot.

Here is also good RSD alternative for flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21575589&postcount=1
you close but it goes against what he just said. Once ur device powers.of press the volume keys then hold the power button ...it'll put u in recovery. You then need to scroll down twice I think to fast boot and press the up key to select....
You can only go down in this recovery. When you press up it selects. You will then need to follow a.vid on YouTube called how to restore Droid RAZR

So, my Maxx suffered a power button failure and I should be receiving my warranty replacement from VZW sometime in the next day or two. Other than the power button not working, the phone is functioning fine. It reboots, runs normally, functions perfectly. I'm running .215 rooted and I want to return the phone back to stock before shipping it back. Problem is I can't access Boot Loader, no matter what I try. It's like it's not there anymore and when I command the phone into it using quick boot, adb, or the built-in menu, the phone just power cycles off. Let me try to explain:
I have Quick Boot installed and I can use it to boot into recovery without a problem. If I try to boot into Boot Loader, the phones powers off and stays off.
I've tried adb shell with the same results. I can connect to my PC and command the phone using shell commands but usin the 'adb reboot bootloader' command results in the same thing: phone power cycles off and stays off.
Even though my power button is AFU, I figured out I can still access the main recovery menu (the vol down to choose, vol up to select one) by holding down the vol up/down and plugging the phone into a charger. Same thing: power cycles off and stays off.
* Funny thing is although my power button doesn't work, I can still soft reset the phone by holding the power button in and vol down - which is what I need to do to exit recovery or other menus I need to input to a prompt using the power button.
Anyone know of this happening? MY guess is since my phone starts and functions normally otherwise, the boot loader is still there in some form. I just don't know how to access it. Any help would be much appreciated.
I can confirm this app will reboot bootloader

If there is no bootloader you won't be able to start your phone at all as its THAT what basically boots the whole hardware and software....
How about adb reboot bootloader or adb reboot recovery commands ?

The bootloader being the phone's "bios" is kind of how I understood it so I'm figuring it's still gotta be there. I just can't seem to access it or get to the "device/battery OK, device disconnceted" menu. I tried adb reboot bootloader and got the same results: power cycle to off and stays off. adb reboot recovery works fine.
Knowing this phone is going to be turned back in, is there any other way I could re-install .211 without having access to the bootloader screen?

Try the eternity project flasher or the motorola's rds lite if they will be able to put the phone to the flash mode as they do that automatically...

I posted a thread over at DroidRAZR.com and got some good feedback and troubleshooting help. It looks like the bottom line is the power button failed in the 'on' postion. One of the folks that replied to the DR thread caused his device to show the same 'AP Fastboot power-off' that I was getting by entering the 'Boot Mode Selection Menu' and holding the power button down while he vol+ to select AP Fastboot. It caused me to look a little closer at what the device was doing and that seems to be exactly what's going on - I powered th phone down using the Quick Boot app and was able to soft reset by holding down the vol- key by itself (didn't need to press power in conjunction). After it SR and i released the vol- key, the device rebooted by itself.
For your info, that thread is here: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/3782-cant-access-boot-loader-menu-no-matter-what/
I tried working a thin piece of paper in around the button but no luck there.
Im sure it has been asked but i couldnt find it. I push volume down and power button and the home button button and all them flash but no recovery. My phone is currently stuck on the htc beats audio screen and would like to get it going again. So if somone has an idea on how to get it booted with a different rom without getting to recovery would be great.

u hold volume down and power till the bottom lights flash.. keep holding them and they will stop flashing the phone will shut off.. then what i do is i take my finger off the power botton for like 1 sec.. put it back on.. hold it till the bootloader screen should pop up.. then u can get into recovery from there.. works everytime
evo401's method is pretty fool-proof. However if it doesn't work you can always try plugging your phone into your computer and see if adb detects it (adb devices) if it does simply send it a reboot command (adb reboot recovery) that should automatically force it to reboot to the recovery.
Hey guys. So, I've had my DNA unlocked, rooted, and had a ROM on it for a while. The SuperHatka ROM I believe it was. I updated to the newest version to update the entire phone with the new OTA update the other day. Tonight I had the bright idea to wipe my phone completely since it didn't do it the first time. Well, I erased literally everything. Now the phone is stuck on the white "HTC quietly brilliant" screen. I can't get it to power off, reboot, etc. It won't be recognized in ADB like it was previously. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on what to do? Please.

Press and hold the power button for approx 15 seconds. Your capacitive buttons should blink and eventually your screen will go black as its powered down. Continue to hold the power button and the vol down key and it should boot into bootloader, from there scroll to recovery via vol keys, press power and it'll boot into recovery. If its a newer recovery it should support adb sideload in which you can adb push a Rom to /sdcard. If not then while in fastboot usb mode you can fastboot flash recovery a newer version of twrp or cwm then adb push in recovery.

Like he said. Press buttons, boot into boot loader, recovery, then you do not need to side load. just do the adb push to your sdcard and flash. sideload is a different command.

I've been in that black hole several times, frozen for various reasons-usually of my own making. I would only add that the time it takes holding in the power button once the icons start flashing at the bottom of the phone varies GREATLY...from a few seconds to several episodes of trying it-bottom line is it will eventually do it. If you have backups you can wipe everything and restore one of them and you will be back up running.
Reviving a dead thread. I have the same issue but when I flash a recovery in fastboot and try to boot to the recovery is shows the recovery splash screen then restarts.

Boot into the bootloader put it in fastboot plug it into your pc. Open a command window where your fastboot and ADB files are and then type
fastboot erase cache
Hit enter
And then flash the recovery and you should be able to boot into it.

Hello everyone, I have a HTC desire 610 here and I cant get into recovery or fastboot. I've tried holding vol down + power and every other key combo, and it just boots up like I'm not doing anything. The buttons work once the phone is booted so I know they're not broken. Is there any other way to access these options? What could I be doing wrong?
One forum post mentioned a fast boot up option in settings that may disable the fastboot and recovery options, but this doesn't make much sense since this would mean you have to boot into the phone (assuming its working) in order to recover it.
Any input would be appreciated.

Having fast boot turned on in settings doesn't make it impossible to enter recovery or fastboot but is does make it very difficult. It removes any delay at the start of the boot procces and skips some checks to speed up boot time, but this does make entering recovery manually really hard. If you turn of the fast boot mode (I think it was under battery in settings but I haven't used stock rom for so long I'm not sure) you will find it much easier.
Your other option is to enable adb (go into settings > about phone > tap on build number 7 times to enable developer options > hit back > hit developer options then enable adb. Then install "minimal adb" and htc sync(to install the drivers) then from cmd line type "adb reboot recovery" to enter recover or "adb reboot bootloader" for fastboot.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, i cant get into the phone settings because its password locked. I bought it at a police auction with a lot of other phones. Most androids are easy enough to restore but this one is giving me the issue i posted about. I guess ill have to keep trying the volume buttons and power.
EDIT: I was able to get into the recovery menu immediately after posting my reply. I did it by holding vol up+ power while the phone was powered on, it gives you a countdown then restarts. At this point to switched to vol down+ power and it kicked me right into the recovery menu.

I found a way for my 610:
Hold power+vol up ,then when screen goes black and vibrates, stop holding power on, move to vol down before appears htc white screen and then will go into fastboot mode. Guaranteed.
Tried cydia impactor
Thanks it helped
