Possible solution for horrible battery life w/mod use (<4hrs) - HTC Rezound

I was having HORRIBLE battery life over the past 3 weeks and went through everything from running different kernels, roms, etc before just giving in. When I say horrible, I mean if i had my phone in airplane mode while listening to music at the gym (not using the display), my battery would go from 100-25 in only an hour. All the while, the phone became incredibly hot.
My solution: I finally gave in and called Verizon. I explained my phone had been overheating with light/moderate use and the lady offered me a warranty exchange. That east.
After I received my new phone I then installed 3.14 w/ s-off & CleanRom DE 1.4 (same setup I ran with the last phone) and now my battery life is MUCH better. I used it at the gym today with Pandora for about 45 min (screen off) and it only drained about 15% of the battery.
I understand the phone isnt ALWAYS the issue but if you are getting crazy heat from only running music... your phone is probably messed up.

[Q] Phone wouldn't turn on and significant battery jump (not a battery complaint)

Hi everyone,
This is not a battery life problem. I've read the battery threads and could not find someone with a similar problem.
My problem: I left my phone locked and untouched while I went shower. Afterwards I decided to check my phone but it did not respond. I tried to turn it on but that failed too. The screen stayed black as if it was off. I ended up taking the battery out, putting it back in and turning the phone on.
The phone did turn on but my battery temperature was 45°C and 48%. My battery was 75% before I went shower. I checked the battery status page and here's what it showed. Notice the vertical drop in battery at the end of the graph.

After a few minutes since restarting:
The android os % also has never been this high before. I've also never experienced any battery problems mentioned in other threads. I use my phone quite often so display is always at the top. This is the first problem I've encountered with my SGS2 which had made me quite sad since it's less than 3 weeks old.
Thanks for reading and would really appreciate any input.

[HELP] Random battery drain, serious problem

I've been really happy with the battery life of the s2, however every now and again the phone randomly reboots and I lose as much as 10%+ battery instantaneously.
In one instance I lost about 80% or so as soon as I took it off charge!! I'm not sure what is causing this but would be grateful if anyone knows a solution or is having the same problem.
There's a few screen shots below to highlight the problem.

I am having the same problem.
that looks bad..
have you tried something like...completely draining the batt, then while keeping the phone off, charge it back up to 100%?
Multiple battery posts on here read them .
One such is here and plenty more .

Thank-you people. I have tried a full drain once, but I may well try that again. It seems to be ok lately but I will keep an eye on it.

Funny, I always did get decent battery and never understood all the complaints. If you shut down 90% of the crap (BT, WiFi, GPS, News twice a day, weather twice a day.........) I could in theory leave the house and make it home.
My problems is I listen to radio at work!
Nice find, will give a try.
It looks like you did not use the phone much that day.
I can probably get two days or more from my Photon if I am not using it
Bu even when I am using it a lot, I get home at the end of a day (around 7:00 PM) with 60-70 percent battery life remaining. I think one of the keys is to used Sep CPU to low power when the screen is off.
good info i'll try

Running stock Gingerbread ROM (PH85IMG_Ruby_TMOUS_1.36.531.6_Radio_1.07.550L.04DC_30.64.550L.07_release_219373_signed.zip)
Phone is completely back to stock (S-ON, ***LOCKED*** bootloader, etc.)
Up since charged two days ago. Stock OEM battery, too. What do you guys think?
Where's the screen on time and what were you're usage habits? You gotta be a lot more specific than that.

Your screen was practically never on.

It doesen't matter what rom you use, aside from a slight battery savings that can be tweaked, your screen is the biggest battery hog by far. The best thing you can do is dim your screen, with it very dim I've had almost 5 hrs of on time for the screen, average around 2.5-3.
I can also reach 24hrs+ if I keep my screen on for 1 second! /s
The Moderating team is not really a fan of best rom threads because what may be a great rom for one person may not be the same for another because needs and usage will very. So I'm going to close this.

[Q] Weird battery status: Faulty charging, bad battery, something else?

After a single day of use, my phone was reporting less than 10% remaining, a little strange as I've not used it much, but maybe a run-away app so I plugged it in (Samsung mains charger), then this happened:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Specs: Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, not locked to any carrier, factory unlocked, no carrier logos or apps. Not rooted, standard OS, Android 4.3, Kernel 3.0.31-2788594, JSS15J.I9300XXUGNJ2.
So I'm now wondering either:
Super-powerful charger,
Phone thought battery was lower than it actually was,
Phone now thinks battery is a lot higher than it actually is,
Battery is on way out,
Something else?
wifi Seems on all the time. remember it's also the one that cause battery to drain.. some user/system apps running in the background..
Thanks, but I was more wondering about how the phone managed to go from 7% battery to 64% battery in less than a minute, and slowly increase from there until I unplugged it. It's at 54% now so appears to be stable.
