Hey
Just found this device and now I am thinking about if it would a) fit to the Sony Tablet S and b) if someone knows how to get/create an adapter?

Sorry, it's in German, didn't find it in English

I do not believe it will work with the Sony Tablet S; no compatible adapter plug, not enough amperes, and wrong voltages. Sony's stock power supply is rated 2.9 A at 10.5 VDC. As for an adapter plug, I have searched for one (I want to built a charger that will work using my truck's power receptacle), but I have not been able to locate one yet.

Power adapter

Hey there,
I Lost this little adapter, thats needed to charge the battery without the docking station.
Now i always need to take the docking station with me to charge it.
Is there a possibility to buy this little thing?
Thanks
As an alternative, you might consider a USB charging/sync cable such as this one or this one. Combine a USB cable with an adapter like Boxwave's Versacharger, and you can charge from your car or off AC.
that would be a posibility...
i already have a USB-cable and a car adapter. so i would only need an adapter with witch i could plug in the USB thing into the power socket.
where can i buy this thin alone?
www.boxwave.com and www.thinkgeek.com both offer the Versacharger, which is a neat DC/AC adapter with a USB socket. Expect to pay $20-$25.
hey, thanks.
thats much for such a little thingy :x
perhaps one of you guys has such an adapter and doesn't need it any more?

they only accept payment via bank xfer, but it's better than nothing. anyone else know any other sellers?
Does anyone have the pinout of the non-standard Startrk USB connector?
any other place to get one besides that german site? somewhere we can purchase online please. thanks
The adaptor looks like just what I need. I almost ordered a couple from the liked site, but it all became too hard. My German is just not that good. I have searched all the usual places but cannot find this adaptor anywhere else. Please, if anyone else knows where ti can be sourced (preferebly with payment via credit card) let us all know.
Mike
i've tried to search all over internet and found nothing. the only ones available are the HTC made Y cable adaptor which is pretty much overpriced and useless because i want a mini usb+3.5mm jack. even just a mini usb adaptor will do (original HTC made mini usb adaptor available, then again, overpriced). where can i find something like that? any idea guys?
yep, i've searched pretty much the whole internet

! and there's nothing. grr. if it wasn't such a ballache i'd get a spare standard cable and cut it up to solder on a mini usb socket. pinouts can't be that hard - although i'm not sure where i'd get an inline mini usb socket from.
I've bought this one for 3.5 mm jack...works great:
http://www.netimes.com/shop/stereo-headphone-adapter-for-htc-startrek-platform-p-421.html
I've paid with credit card (click on paypal....don't need a paypal account), received it within a week (all the way to Europe....;-).
headphone only though
...no mini USB charge point. thanks though.
ric
yeah, we need something that has standard mini usb
I found a site on how to DIY usb t0 3.5mm jack for audio

Maybe a little bit complicated...but let me suggest...
Take a Female mini usb from an old device (for example). Connect/sold/attach it to a Female standard usb (not all wires needed). Use startreck usb cable to charge
so close its exact
micro usb is the 3125 adapter type
Is this the same connector?

I thought the Qtek 8500 12 pin connector was unique to that handset. Have you just searched for "micro usb adaptor" or do you know something we don't?
If this would work I'd be very happy but I don't think it will.

not sure

"A regular micro-USB port would have been better than the proprietary HTC port, but we understand its necessity for the slim shape the phone has"
buy it and try it
quote "A regular micro-USB port would have been better than the proprietary HTC port"
The port on the 3125 is micro usb, the port on say a 8525 or 8125 is Mini usb
I am not saying the adapter will work, only that it is a micro to mini adapter and it should work.

Gtab charger help PLEASE

I have a Gtab that was being used by the head of the IT department of the place that i work. He has lost BOTH the charger and the usb connector. I was going to just go to radio shack and pick up a charger for it but they need to know what the power requirements are for it and i cant seem to find them anywhere. anyone know what the charger out put is stock on one of these? also is there an easy source for the small port that semi looks like micro usb to standard usb cable?
Thanks in advance
Chad
The stock charger puts out 12 V and 2 amps.
Here's a few

There are several other vendors that use the same power adapter with different markings on it. Kodak uses them in their digital photo frames and there are several vendors on eBay if you don't mind it coming from China and waiting a month to get it.
This vendor on Amazon has a few in stock (just the adapter). I bet you can get it overnighted.
Link to Amazon seller
If you do want to search for it on the Internet or in eBay use "MPA-630" in the search criteria.
Also, that's a mini-usb port on the side of the gTab, not a micro-usb port.
It also uses the same charger as the Kodak Photo Frame...
Search the web for "MPA-630 power supply" and you will find a replacement.

P. S. -- Oh, also, the PC to G-Tab cable is just a standard USB to mini-USB cable like is often used on
cameras, mp3 players, etc. USB on the PC side and mini on the G-Tab side.
I just bought a Universal external charger for my Gtab, but I need to know what the polarity should be, can anyone help me with that?

That's what's on mine if that helps

FYI, the PSAD24 (link above) is NOT a compatible substitute for the MPA-630. Please do not make the same mistake I did by purchasing the item linked above for your gTab, as it has a different connector.
Ecrap website has the charger for $23.95
Forum member itsteve's website electroniccrap dot com is selling the oem power supply and as of yesterday had some in stock. Get on it quick because they sell out quick

how much?
Is there anything special about this cable?
Where is the point of buying "official cable" ? There is no way that cable can damage Your phone. "official" cable also dont give better video quality, this is digital signal, You can see the image or not, simple as that. Anyways, there is no "Xperia S" official hdmi cable, there is only Sony Ericsson certified one, which i got with my phone. Search for : IM820 .
there is no need to buy the original one ... you can use a cable with this specification:
microHDMI (Typ D) XPERIA S Side <--------> HDMI (Type A) TV, Beamer ... Side
Klassification HDMI 1.2a
Just look at ebay. I bought one for only 3 dollars (incl. shipping)

[Q] MHL Cable

Hi,
I understand that the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is one of the first to have MHL 3.0 (Along with the Z2 Phone) however is there any adapter out at the moment to put this onto to your TV yet?
Is this something that a universal adapter will sort? Is it something I need to wait for Sony to release?
Cheers.

For me, the Samsung MHL does Not Work physically. A third party Adapter From HAMA does Not Work on the Sony, but on the SGS4
I'm Waiting for the Sony MHL to become available now...
I bought this one and it works with my z2 tablet: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/prod...o-mhl-adapter-rf-g1171-rf-g1171/10214468.aspx
Sent from my SGP511 using Tapatalk
So, seeing I get my Z2 tomorrow, also ask if anybody has tried the MHL to HDMI adapters. Seems a limited choice here where I live, so asking for some additional input.
Seems I can get the official Sony IM750 MHL Adapter, however it doesn't mention the Tablet compatibility, only phones.
I bought a cheap mhl v1 cable that works fine. It just crops the bottom of the screen off on the TV http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281294982152
It has to have a micro usb to power it, but most tvs or dvd players have a spare usb port to power the adapter.

Thanks for the link. I suppose it would come down to whether the TV USB would transmit power via USB, but in the worst case, one could carry a USB charger (seeings I have several of those laying around )
All usb ports supply 5v at 0.3amps min as long as the TV etc is on. Even if it's a diagnostic only usb port it's still enough current.
