[Q] Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Wifi only GPS a day off - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If you download "GPS Time" from the market, it shows the time difference is something like 86,000 seconds off. Basically GPS is reporting the wrong day.
From what I've read online, it's an issue with the Broadcom chip. (see below)
We have a mobile transportation app (for buses and vans) that reports GPS date & time info. Even with the "Synchronize device with GPS" button, after root access is given, it's still reporting the wrong day. My guess is that only updates the system date, but our software reads the date from the chip.
My question is.. on the 10.1 Wifi only model, has anybody seen this and/or been able to fix this? I think it's a firmware update, but in all my research I haven't been able to find a successful fix.
Any help anybody can provide will be greatly appreciated.
-Sean
Edit: you can also use "GPS Test" and click on the time to see the date bug
Issue started popping up on the first day of 2012.

Need fast help, is it possible to locate my lost X10?

Hi,
Got a big problem, I got drunk last night and lost my X10 :/ Is there a way I can locate my phone? There is a signal, but nobody is picking up, so it's probably somewhere out there in a snow. I didn't have any app for tracking installed -.- But I know google keeps trace of my phone, is it possible to force localization check of a phone? I want to use the benefit of being traced my whole life...
Just had a quick search and found something which should help.
Search for "plan B" by lookout mobile security on the android market. If you install it from your PC and read the instructions in the app description it should help.
Hope this helps.

[Q] Screen Dead Zone

Hi,
Few days ago I noticed that when I wanted to accept or cancelled some pop-ups, or when I was writting I had no more the accuracy I used to.
First I thought it should be an ICS issue, but then I realized that this lack of accuracy was only on a specific zone of the screen, so I decided to activate one of the Developer options, the Pointer location one, to asure it was a concrete zone and this is what I found out:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see, there's a zone where you can drag(sometimes) but, as it is shown in the last picture, instead of one single touch it makes to right out of the zone.
I have to say that the mobile hasn't suffered any falls nor hits.
So I'd like to know if anyone else has suffered this problem or if someone has any possible solution.
If not, I'm afraid I'll have to send it to repair so I take advantage of the thread to ask if someone knows if I'll have trouble to send it because I bought it to a swiss guy(which sent me the bill too) and I'm from Spain...
Any help is grateful,
greetings!
P.S: The last thing I flashed or installed was days before this started to happen
Bringing it up...

Look at setting the clock on the gps, I use an app called fastergps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.fastergps&hl=en
Thaks blueether but my phone is not rooted. This application can show status of two GPS/Glonass ?
If yes then I go to root my phone.
Find it !!!
Finally I found an application

Here's a classic app for testing the GPS (if you're still interested).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest&hl=en
I like the program gps status toolbox
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2
It shows you how many satellites your receiver/decoder should see, how many it is seeing, what the signal strength is, and whether it's fully decoded the signals yet.
It also shows the compass, speed and inclinometer.

[Q] Bizzare Notification Icon

It does nothing. It just remain there. The one in the far left, the first icon. What in the world is it?

}
Don't worry about the 1X. I've been trying to force the device to obey my command to update the PRL so that the connection be 3G/4G. Just want to know what the first icon in the notification is and if it can be removed.
Location service disabled. I have to say one thing though - i found this on google in exactly 2 minutes ( I have very slow internet ). Maybe you could do your own searching and find answers to your questions. Your behaviour could be considered rude here
I have tried and tried on Google for several days. I just didn't know what words to look for. I've also tried on Yahoo. I apologize of I seem rude, I'm really having a hard time to understand many things. I was hoping that the icon was what caused the connection to be stuck at 1X. I'm about to go to the store for help to get it to be 3G/4G either fix or replace. I will see if the people at the store can remove the location icon. I'm new to EVO 3D and its older style of Android.

Question Google Weather App Location Issue

My wife and I both have a P6, and an issue is showing up with her's and not mine which I can't resolve.
In the Google Weather App, it has always shown the current location in the search bar at the top. Mine still does, but her's is blank:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Additionally, when you tap the search bar it usually shows previous places you've used (along with your current location). Mine does, her's doesn't:
Every setting seems to be identical between our two devices, including location permissions. The conditions reported on her main screen match mine, but there's no way to tell what that location is.
Has anyone run into this? Searching online pulls up a lot of results if the app doesn't have location permissions set correctly, but I'm not finding anything regarding this.
Update:
After months of being like this, I made this post and then learned ten minutes later that the issue has resolved itself. So I think we're all good? Very weird.
More details:
Apparently there's a limited number of locations you can have on your list. My wife was able to remove previously-saved locations, and as soon as she did everything fixed itself. Strange issue. Hopefully someone finds this helpful in the future.
