Looking for driver - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have tablet (non brand) when I connect it to the windows 7 pc the windows reported that it can not find the driver and it appears under the "other devices" with the device name "Android>
I did my homework and google abt the problem but the keywords are very confusing
any hope to find the the driver?
thanks

Hi,
You should try to find the model of your device and search for drivers on the internet.
Usually, when you connect you tablet to a Windows PC without usb debugging, you can access the contents of the SD card, just like you would with a USB stick.
But if you activated the debugging, you need the driver.
All the best.

Sorry, what's the app?
Have you enabled "usb debugging" on tablet before starting SuperOneClick on your PC?
usually this is "root" of the problem

Hi, i know my problem now. I can't get Folio 100 recognised by Windows 7.
Always is recognised as "Toshiba Mass Storage" or "H:\".
I tried already on two differents computers (two with Windows 7), one Windows is clean install i can't install ADB driver.
I downloaded Android SDK r11 from here
I installed Java Development Kit since Android SDK won't run without it.
I run Android Manager, install only platform-tools for adb
I install Google USB and add lines for Nvidia Tegra 2
I do cmd echo
Restart
I put Toshiba Folio in Debug Mode, plug-in...
Windows install Mass Storage driver only...
Turn off Debug Mode and turn on... Device goes to Mass Storage Mode...
Windows won't do anything with modified usb driver inf
Windows eventually installs a device as "H:\"
Nothing more.
Please help, thanks in advance.
Hi again.
Also, i can install ADB, Android SDK and SuperOneClick on Mac... But i don't know if i can tweak usb driver for doing root here.
SOLVED WITH FASTBOOT
Thanks to all!!!

[SOLVED] can't get files of my device (tried Windows 7 x64 & Ubuntu 11.10 x64)

Hey folks,
got a "little" problem with my device. I tried to copy some videos of it and it just won't work.
---
I connect my device to my PC and these things happen ...
Windows 7 x64:
Nothing.
Windows 7 x64 with Kies installed:
Windows sees that there is a new device, but it won't let me open as a storage ... "Code 10" in the device manager.
Windows 7 x64 with Kies installed and device in mass storage mode:
Windows sees that there is a new device, but it won't let me open as a storage ... "Code 10" in the device manager.
Ubuntu 11.10 x64:
Nothing.
Ubuntu 11.10 x64 and device in mass storage mode:
I see some files on my device, but when trying to open them, I only get some errors ... the real problem here, when I disconnect the USB cable (or unmount) then there are no files on my device left ... everything has been moved to "lost.dir" and I can´t open them from there, not even from my phone.
---
I tried to connect with USB debugging enabled, but it would work.
Any ideas?
/Edit 1:
The only way to copy stuff over to my computer is by using Kies Air ... and it takes ages for HD videos.
/Edit 2: THE SOLUTIONS LOL :-D
1. I had to connect my device via another USB slot
2. when USB debugging is enabled, it still wouldn't mount; then I installed this app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jrtstudio.automount and now everything works just fine

1) Using a Rom? If yes check in thread if it, if this problem is already known.
2) Tried different USB-Slots?
3) Connect phone, search in device manager for the device and uninstall the drivers.
Then un- later replug the phone and wait if all drivers got installed again.
CHEERS ;-)

[Q] What to do when device is not detected by the usual programs?

I've got an Android based device that is detected by Windows, when I give it a driver it correctly shows in the System Manager.
However, none of the usual programs to root the device are detecting it.
What should the next course of action be to root a device that is not detected by these programs?
Thank you,
SR
Anyone??

have you switch on the usb debugging toggle?
Yes I have,
Windows detects the device as an exclamation, I've fed windows different drivers that allow the device to be detected as a Android Device, I can transfer files to the memory card on the device, however when it comes to trying to use a program such as Tasselhof - Root, or 1 click root the programs indicate it is not detected.
Would I be better off with Linux instead of Windows to try and attempt this?
Thanks you for your reply,
SR
My last attempt to reach out.
Am I better of in Linux?
ANY INFORMATION IS GREATELY APPRECIATED!
SR
Hiya.
Same issue. I have both a SGS2 and SGS3. Laptop has three USB ports and I have two cables.
I have installed the Samsing drivers and enabled debugging on both phones.
Odin simply will not see either phone, on either cable, in any USB port.
Platform is a HP 8460 Laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
So, er, help?

[CLOSED] usb not recognized problem

Hello, I'm facing this problem from many years in my phone, i can't plug in my mate 10 to any pc, it always says usb not recognized,
all drivers installed correcly with hisuite , my cable usb is new,
i changed today the USB charging port of the phone at Huawei care service, and i reset factory the phone , still same problem.
I'm still having the same stock rom on the device,
is the "usb not recognized" problem can be a software problem in the phone? thank you for your experience.

I'll try to help you but I'm not an expert, and yet I've had EVERY problem you seem to be speaking about.
a. I have had broken USB ports
b. I have had broken USB cables
c. I have had the USB drivers not install on Windows
etc.
Given I've had some of the same problems, I feel for you, so my first advice is to simply give up on USB for everything that you can.
Specifically, if you can turn on USB debugging and Wireless debugging in the Developer options, you can operate the phone over Wi-Fi using the Windows monitor, keyboard and mouse as shown in my screenshots below.
You don't need anything installed on Android to use these FOSS solutions on Windows to operate the entire phone over Wi-Fi as of Android 12 (which eliminated the need for an initial USB connection to establish the Wi-Fi connection).
In summary, I have had similar problems with USB where I've given up on USB and switched to operating Android over Wi-Fi and even mounting the entire Android file system as a Windows drive letter over Wi-Fi using free software.
a. adb
b. scrcpy
c. vysor
d. webdav
Use Windows Event Viewer to check for error messages on the PC.
If the problem is the PC it will likely show up there and give you more troubleshooting clues.
