Well, if you're rooted which I'm going to assume you are, then you could use GestureControl off of the market. It says that you are able to completely hide the tablet bar. Try out the lite version before you buy of course to see if that's what you would want.

Hey,
On the bottom of my home screen there is the LG home shortcuts, Phone, Messaging, Contacts, App Drawer and E-Mail. The thing is, the order seems to be a bit weird on mine and I want to change it and if possible remove E-Mail and put in Internet. Is there anyway to do this?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hold your email icon then drag it to bin. Then go to menu find Internet but mine named Browser, hold the icon then drag it to the space that you just removed earlier

I'm not talking about just a normal shortcut on the home screen, I'm talking about the icons at the bottom, long clicking on them doesn't do anything for me.
it is not possible in the normal luncher of the optimus.
i use pro lunch as my luncher and you can put any icon and give it any action that you want.
futuremore there are more advances to this luncher. for example long press on the home botton wiill let you choose between all homescreens.
good luck
it is possible to change every icon on lg home dock bar.
just move the icon you want to put in the dock bar at the bottom most part of the screen where the icon would suit if it were in the dock bar and it will replace the previous icon.
I'll post a screen shot for proof.

Can I ask how is this useful?
I always hit that Damn status bar when I'm playing games like modern combat 3 online. Super useful...atleast if you're a gamer

They screwed up something.
The settings menu is now active in the lock screen.
And when you click on a notification, it was simply bypass the lock screen...

Where is this at? i can not find it any place. im using [ROM] AlmostStock_9.4.2.21 (with motley_tfp_beta_kernel-2.1) there is no center dot on my bottom bar.
Look here
Go to settings, Asus Customized settings System Bar Lock - Enable it for there. Then you get a little tutorial for folks too lame to figure it out, LOL. I guess that's smart, else they would have to field all the support calls "I lost my System Bar!", "My System Bar disappeared". Help. I Just locked myself in the car and I have no keys... LOL!
And people are just discovering this NOW? Wow. There is so LITTLE to get excited about with this "Awesome new features" update (Gary Key's comment was: " Updates and fixes galore for the lack of better words.") that I think I found all the "New and exciting features in about a minute and 22 seconds, LOL! I posted about the lock thing 2 minutes after downloading. I guess I was just expecting more... Sigh. And where, pray tell is Face Lock? The "Receive Notifications on Lock Screen was a ruse, all they did was unlock the quick setting menu while on lock screen.
Big. Friggin. Whoop. Asus, Fix my Keyboard/Typing entry so when I am on XDA, trying to make this device better, the cursor doesn't constantly jump to the first character position in the text box. This has been happening since release, and no FW release has helped in the slightest, .11 through .21 inclusive.
You need to enable it.
Settings | Asus Customised Setting | SYSTEM BAR
The you'll get a little grey dot in the middle, hit it and it turns into a lock.
This is the best thing that could happen to my (and other) writing apps. So many users have complained about accidentally hitting the system menu while writing. It should really be a default option in Android. Maybe they will consider letting us hide the system bar completely.

You can buy it with your phone or any other device, make a Titanium backup, copy the backup to the prime and restore it. I did it with my DesireHD and on the prime i even have the Tablet adapted version.
Btw if you play it with a gamepad and USB/BT joystick center it actually feels like a real game
Speaking of Face Unlock, I rather like Samsung's impending implementation with the 'blink' feature. Should help counter those pesky photograph unlocks we've all been subject to... or not. :-/

I have the system bar lock off because I don't care for it , but when I watch a video or do something else that dims the system bar buttons (and turns them to dots)the middle dot appears and doesn't do anything. Bug? Or am I missing something.

Can you use a plug-n-play xbox controller? Anyone know?
Doesn't work right when tablet sleeps
i though it was handy, and tried it. Then my tablet went to sleep and when I woke it up the unlock spot was GONE! I was stuck in the kindle app.
I had to go and get the keyboard and connect it, use the settings button there, and disable the system bar lock function for it to come back.
I tried playing around with the feature since, the unlock reliably disappears whenever the tablet goes to sleep, but flicking around near the bottom for a while can make it unlock.
Hey guys
I want to put a shortcut in the four home button slots and so I've deleted the "internet" icon from there but now I have no idea how to get Dolphin shortcut to it. I've tried some answers through google for other phones but none that I have found seem to work, any ideas please?
First drag shortcut to desktop and then to the bottom bar.

Oh! Just worked, thank you! My screen didn't have any spare desktop (didn't know this was needed). Sorry for being so stupid
Has anyone noticed that this no longer works after recent OTA updates.
For some reason Samsung has locked the bottom bar and you can't change it any more. Well done Sammy!!
Does anyone know of any back doors or utilities that can be used to get around this issue?
Found this app in the international HTC One M8 forums. It allows you to hide your software keys, and when you need thee buttons you can swipe up from the bottom to use them, then they disapear after a set amount of time you specify. ROOT REQUIRED!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys
Works great! You need root, but give it a shot. I ended buying the PRO version because it's awesome!
interesting. I just installed it. Gonna play with it for a little while to decide if I want to drop 4 bucks on the pro version.

Yeah take time with it. I'm liking it so far, and being able to gain the full display is pretty nice. It is finicky, I've had a few instances where I would try to hit the spacebar and it would activate the buttons, which can be remedied by switching from tap to activate, to swipe.
actually I got rid of it. it was just not working for what I wanted. I was getting frustrated with having to constantly swipe up for the navbar, and then while it was up it was covering my dock bar. decent app. definately does what it describes. just wasnt for me.
You might want to try using the xposed framework module called Force Immersive. It allows you to go in and select which apps you want the nav bar to be hidden and doesn't have the annoying red line drag bar. I use it for games as they are really the only apps where the navbar is cumbersome.

Hi,
is there a way to get rid of the Navigation Line at the bottom of the Screen when using gesture mode? Asus unfortunatly doesnt give the option like Samsung for example to hide it.
im a noob and dont know if theme modification is a thing at all or if i must switch completely to a different OS
thank you very much!

unfortunately it is not possible to remove the pill by making Asus native gestures work. What is possible is to remove the pill (using the entire screen) and use gestures from third-party applications. For me it is the best option. root is required

On March 31, Asus released an update (WW-33.0804.2060.113) that allows you to hide the navigation bar. There's a new learning curve when navigating with gestures without the navigation bar, and after a month like that, I don't miss the navigation bar.
