Well, so.. no ics upgrade on 21 may? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Or they meant 21/6/2018?
Life is full of disappoints.

Never trusted those dates anyway lmao
Sent from my MZ601 using XDA Premium HD app

Well the screen grab had 5/21 as the beginning of the PUSH date, which means depending on how many phones there servers can handle at the time they would begin sending the OTA out, checking for update on your phone is PULL which is dated 5/23 11:59PM so until the 24th comes you can't call them on being bogus dates.

21st full moon cycle of the 5th millennium. Better known as 5-21 in Japan.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium

If they were pushing it out starting on the 21st, their update documentation would have been updated by now (which it has not).

As long as we get it before 12/21/2012. Then it doesn't matter because I will be to busy trying to keep cool and running from Bezelebub!! Spelled wrong, probably. But an ice cream sandwich sure would be refreshing!

That is clearly wrong because there are 4 Quarters...

I would expect this:
Q1: Jan 1- March 31
Q2: April 1- June 31
Q3: July 1- Sept 31
Q4: Oct 1- Dec 31
I may not be dead on with the last days of some months but, seems about right to me.

A lil help

Hey guys I'm due for an upgrade on October 25th and my x2 is only 3 months old....so here's my question should I just sit on the upgrade and wait to see what's to come or should I jump on the 4g bandwagon now?
X2ATRIX.4
I would wait and see what the Prime and Vigour (I think) bring to the table. Just be careful or you'll be playing the waiting game forever because there is always a new phone on the horizon. Mostly depends on how patient you are.

Yeah and I've read that the quad core phones should also have a separate 5th "low power core" that runs independent of the quad that will aid in preservation of battery for processes that don't require all that power. Sounds very interesting. Could be a huge step for better battery life.

Think about it - it's only a theory, but this is logical progression...
Nexus device first cus it comes "straight from Google" (not really, but whatever, still comes first.), then flagship, then others, right? MAXX is still Moto's Verizon flagship, for now anyway!
I'm sure anyone who's run the ICS leaks knows how close we really are to release, they're ridiculously smooth and fast.

Hmm..
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Still no soak test, as far as I know... I presume that HAS to precede any OTA release, correct?
Regardless of others opinions that these leaks have been "soak tests". That's how moto has been doing things regarding updates for quite some time. So yes if they continue the same pattern there will be an "official" announced soak test just prior to rolling out to the public first.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
These soak tests seems to be made only by verizon.
We had an update in my country. Another one in Canada and Mexico. None of it got a soak test.
Even the european isn't a soak test too. Since the ics version to be tested is exactly the same they'll release ota.
Btw. An ICS soak test happened in US before Xoom upgrade yesterday?

Yes, there is always a soak test prior to any VZW release and I have participated in several of them. I declined the invitation for this latest Xoom soak test because I was too busy over this weekend to manage it.

Well i'm not surprised it's been delayed, since i expected that to happen. On the other side i am surprised that Motorola took 2 minutes to post the notice on the FB page. Usually they just ignore the public and delay things without saying anything. So put together surprised/not surprised makes me indiffernet to Motorola, the feeling most of us have towards the firm. Moto-fans can protect them as hard as they can, but financial results of the company speak a different story and show if strategies toward users are good or not. I think is just a matter of time until this firm gets washed out to the ocean, the ocean of terminated companies.
This delay affect Europe too? (if I'm not wrong Europe and Australia have the same rom)

The Australia's Razr is the non us one so its ics is similar to the rest of the emea ics's so if the australia's ics is delayed, most likely othe emea upgrades will be delayed as well...

Does not have to be the case, because the delay could be caused by a telecom provider in Australi. The reason could be that they have to aprove the update also (think bloatware like).
