Hey I'm currently in Hungary and am only getting gprs servos(very slow) is there any way to tell if EDGE is available or if it's picking the wrong one?
Thanks.
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S2 on TELUS.
I think EDGE depends on your carrier, if your carrier supports it you will get it automatically.
Regards.
Yes the SGS2 supports EDGE, the rest is up to the carrier.
Thanks alot. Just supprised that it wasn't available gprs is soooo slow.

Hi guys!
New to the forum. I'm about to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S2 in Hong Kong.
I was wondering if this phone will work on AT&T's network, namely their 3G and their 4G frequency. It'll be quite pointless to get this phone if I couldn't utilize it's speed.
Thanks!
I've read that the AT&T version of the SGSII (Skyrocket) and Galaxy Note can be flashed with the Tmo SGSII modem and work. Does anyone know if this can be done on the international SGSII (GT-I9100)?
I have this, and was on AT&T, but now on T-Mobile. I still love this phone and want to use it on Tmo on their HSPA+ network.
I've searched, and nothing has come up. I wonder how much hardware parts these variants share with the "original".
Probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 vs Exynos thing....

No. The GT-I9100 physically lacks the capability to receive one of the two necessary bands for AWS to receive high speed data on T-mobile USA's network.
The reason it works with the Skyrocket and the Note is because those two phones DO have the capability to receive both bands for AWS. (1700 and 2100 mhz UMTS)
Hi guys
I want to ask is it possible to change the at&t modem to a t-mobile modem so i can use 3g/4g on tmobile network if not just tell me im curious.
I saw this happen to the galaxy note and was wondering if it possible to do it on this phone.
thanks
Nope. It lacks the bands required for T-Mo frequencies.
Hello all,
I have a Galaxy S4(SHV-E330S) that I bought from Korea and would like to see if this can be somehow converted into T-Mobile. I understand that there is a hardware limitation that does not allow me to use 4G LTE in T-Mobile. However, I was wondering if I could flash the phone with T-Mobile ROM so that I could use features like Wi-Fi calling. Does anyone know of a way to achieve this?
Thank you,
Wan
