Weird Screenshot issue - HTC Rezound

so when i take a screenshot using either power/home or i am on on CR 4.5 and it has a screenshot feature in the pwer menus, it saves to the gallery just fine. the pic is clear in the gallery.
the issue is, when i send it in a text it is all scrambled and fuzzy. i am using go sms, but i cheked the stock messaging app and it is fuzzy in that one also.
what is going wrong in the select a pic/send it in a text process that is screwing up here? and it is on both ends, the pic is fuzzy for me when i send it and for the receiver.

I have the same problem when sending it to my friend. She has a LG Thrill...I figured her phone sucks. Everyone else gets them fine.

that cant be the issue because i can test it by sending it to myself...and both the pic i send and the one i receive are the same...fuzzy. but again, it's fine in the gallery when i select it

Go to stock messages and hit menu then mms. Then check to make sure the max size is highest. If it's not the highest it could downscale it

i got it working based off your initial suggestion! it was GO SMS compressing mms messages. I upped the size limit and the compression limit to max and now everything is fine. I overlooked this initially due to the fact that the pics appeared fuzzy in the stock message app as well, but i guess it transferred in the compressed pics from GO.

Text issues

Recently my thunderbolt has been sending 4 copies of the same text message to everyone. Has anyone encountered this problem or know of a fix?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Mine sent a message three times today. Not sure why. Using Go SMS Pro.
This is a Verizon network issue, along with several others regarding the thunderbolt. Hopefully it will be fixed soon .

I'm having a different kind of texting issue.
Sometimes when people text me, I'll pull down the notification bar to reply, write my message, and try to send. But the "Send" button is greyed out! I have to close out and reopen for it to work again.
Are you running a custom Rom or a different sms app than stock?

Stock for both.
EDIT: I just realized you probably might not have been talking to me. Oops! If you were though, disregard this edit.

Yes that was directed at you. For the little time that i was on stock i was noticing that too. I think that it is a bug with the sense text. I disabled everything in stock sms and started using go sms, seams to have fixed it for me.
Sense seems to have some issues updating it's texting widget for me, I'll get the notification for a new sms, I'll go to my widget screen to read it and it won't be there, it's not until I go through the notification bar to read it that it shows up, kinda annoying.

Someone with a stock phone please help us.

A couple of us with modded roms are having a hard time with force closes on the messaging app and we are trying to rule out the rom as the problem.
Can someone with a stock rom please try to send a multi contact text message to see if the app closes?

I'm unfortunately on debloated stock, not stock, so can't help you most likely. Also I never send multi-destination text spam (I almost never send texts to begin with)
So far not a single person who has reported this problem has submitted a logcat...
This is a simple request that should take someone about 15 seconds to complete. I would rather start there than logcat. Especially since logcat confuses the hell out of me lol

I just tried it from my phone with 2 recipients. No force close, and I am on stock rom rooted.
Just tried with 2 recipients on Cognition and they went through fine.

Except that sending texts costs money and bothers the recipients of said texts.
Especially if it's not even guaranteed we'll reproduce the problem.
Thanks for the help.

Anyway to reinstall just that app?

SMS/MMS Notification Sound Cut Off

Lately I've noticed my SMS/MMS Notification Sound gets cut off in the middle of playing.
I'm using the "Whistle" notification sound. It worked fine the first day I had my phone (today would be day 5 I've had it)
I've tried restarting the phone, choosing different tones, fixing permissions, clearing caches. So far nothing seems to be working
It looks like it gets cut off when the screen lights up from the notification.
Anyone else having this issue? And if so, have you found a fix (besides using a 3rd party messaging app like Go SMS). I have the Sprint variant, stock rooted (LF9)

I did the same fixes as u did thinking that would work, but it didn't so I erased that contact put it back in and now it works right
Good luck

It does this If you set a limit for incoming texts and have auto delete on. Erase all the messages when your at the limit and it will go back to normal again

Oh that makes sense. I had my auto delete set @ 120 SMS. So I'm guessing what happens is once the thread hits 120 and you get a new SMS the notification gets interrupted by the system deleting the last message in that thread to make it 120.
Well this is all very helpful. Problem solved. Thanks guys!

Another work around for this is to use zedge to assign your sound. For whatever reason, it bypasses the issue and the sound fully plays when a new message comes in.

Why is MMS quality so different from iPhone?

Hi guys,
I'm new here and have been looking around to try and get my question answered but haven't quite had any luck.
I'm made the move from iPhone to Android and absolutely loving it. I'm sure we're all aware of the MMS issue? I have a couple of questions regarding this.
1) When sending MMS's from iPhone to iPhone and iPhone to Android, the picture quality is obviously much much better. Why is this? Why the limitations? It's definitely not the carrier.
2) I'm aware of Go SMS and all those 3rd party apps, but is there a mod or "fix" to the resolve the issue? I'm currently using LiquidSmooth RC7 and love the jelly bean messages app.
Apologies for the long post!!!
Thanks

What messaging app are you using?
When i first made the move from iphone to android I was using Go sms and Hancent. Both had this problem but after switching back to the stock messaging app, havent had the problem.
Using Liquid Smooth ROM which has stock jelly bean messaging app.
I stuck my sim in my iPhone again and a friends Windows phone and MMS that are sent are way better quality. Only on Android it's shocking... just curious as to why exactly.

Hmmm that could be the reason why. Try using Stock SMS if you can. if not then I'm out of ideas.
Yeah already tried that. Still nothing. Apparently Cyanogen Mod has a settings menu where u can change the outgoing MMS size. I'm sure there's something in the code that can be changed but not sure where. Will wait for CM10 and see if that changes anything.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Need to change the compression level of the MMS i guess.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yeah, would be good if there was an option to set the limit. At the moment it's at like 40-60kb. Ridiculous. All other phones have a much higher size.
Sent from my GT-I9300
Yeah its a shame really. Only working solution I've seen is to tell go sms to preserve image quality and stop compression.

Actually it is the carrier, when you are sent an MMS, the carrier sends you a SMS telling you to get it.
Your phone then connects to their server and passes a user agent string. The carrier then works out what's best to give you.
If they haven't got around to adding you user agent, often they go for worst case scenario.
Some apps allow you to have a custom user agent (messaging, not web) which should help.
The other possibility is the iPhones were using iMessage instead.
+1 for iMessage. Why use other between two iDevice?

Op what country are you from mate? Regardless of what other people say it is true MMS on android is shocking so i use whatsapp it is a multi platform app and you can send 12sec vids and pictures via your data and it doesn't cost you anything extra. Only costs a few kbs of your data. You can also use kik. But i wish the mms quailty was better to be honest.
I don't see how its the carrier when the same carrier on other phones don't have an issue.
I'm from Australia mate. Yeah started using watsapp a while ago then deleted it.. but other people need to be on it too don't they?

Yes.
But it still might be the carrier, since iPhone to iPhone probably doesn't send mms, but uses imessage instead. That's why there is no limitations in picture size.
I personally prefer using Line. It's free (whatsapp costs 1.99 USD a year for "server costs")
iPhone to iPhone worked even before iMessage was out. Pics that were sent were delivered in good quality.
I've found my solution for the time being. Facebook messenger has added SMS/MMS threading into its app now. Very seamless and convenient. I've tested sending MMS to phone numbers without them having a Facebook account (or not being Facebook friends) and the pics get delivered in great quality.
Thank u all for your suggestions

[Q] Help increase mms size limits on HTC One

Ok so a few days ago i came across a thread to increase the mms sending limits on the One. However for the life of me i cant find the thread again I have searched for an hour. On stock settings i cant even send a 10 sec video clip through mms. I understand i can email it however thats not what im looking to do. If anyone knows how or can help point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanc

I swear I saw a post on how to do it. I just can't find it anywhere. I know it can be done tho. It's horrible even a 10 second video is to big to send via mms. At least for my phone it is.
MMS Compression kills me. Can't send someone a nice high res pic. Sizes it way down and compresses it to hell. The main way I share pics is through texting and now it's just stupid to send a pic through texting since it looks horrid. Never had compression issues on iPhone unless it's through video but I don't care much for that.

How about using a different texting app such as Gosms? You can adjust the maximum mms size in that app.

/system/customize/MNS/default.xml
Look for MMS_Msg_Size1, 2, 3, and MMS_Msg_Size_Choose
Edit values to something like 500K, 1000K, 2000K -- whatever you like. Save, reboot. Might have to clear data on messaging app to get new values to take.
Edit: Current values are in data/data/com.android.mms/shared_prefs/com.android.mms.customizationBySIM.xml. Edit there and reboot.

Need to be running a custom kernel that allow remounting /system as rw. Stock kernel write protects /system so modifications are lost on reboot.
I made some size changes to mine, and now it looks like it doesn't want to send mms messages any longer, text messages work just fine.

I'm on a HTC One S and I did this too. Apparently the mms app now says the limit is what I've set (that is 1MB), but when I attach a photo this gets compressed nonetheless, even if it's smaller than 1MB.
Are you guys on the HTC One experiencing the same?
That's one main reason I moved away from stock messaging to Textra app. It's way smoother than the stock HTC one messaging not to mention It's light weight, not a memory hogger, very simple and smooth. The others like go sms and handcent are buggy and full of ads. Go to the playstore and try it for yourselves. All of my friends with Androids love it. BTW..it's Free.
