I'm running ICS (CleanROM Dev, Mostly-Senseless) but I'm handing my Evo 3D off to my son tomorrow when my One X arrives.
One thing he really wanted to do was watch the Green Hornet in 3D, but I've noticed HTC Watch is missing in this ROM and won't install from an APK.
Does anyone know if there IS and APK that'll work with ICS, and if so, how do I go about installing it?
edit: nevermind, I'm an idiot. I restored it from an old backup in TitaniumBackup and the app seems to work, I just don't have any of my movies in my library.
Any idea how I can get Green Hornet back? (don't tell me to pirate it, please)
You could nandroid your current setup, install a GB Rom with Green Hornet, and restore your nandroid for him after he watches it.

The movie file should be stored on your SD card; it came free with the EVO 3D as you may remember. The Watch app then links to it from your SD card. If you removed the SD card from that phone and it's now in your new phone then you should be able to copy the folder. Just copy it from here (your own SD card):
SD\.data\HtcWatch\preload_movies

ok thunderbolt wont find my photos or music on the sdcard after root. they are still there checked with root explorer. any idea how to get them back??
Restart to see if the scanner will find them. If not, just install quickpic. It's a thousand times better than the stock gallery.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago. It happened about two weeks after I had rooted. I was not a happy camper and tried to reformat the card (after copying the contents to my PC) and that didn't work. I did put in the SD card from my OG Droid, copied the contents and voila - the pics showed up in the Gallery and the music in the player.
I went to my sales guy at the Verizon store and he told me to just call Sandisk and they would replace it. Just before I did that, I reformatted the disk, partitioned it and tried one more time to copy the files. To my surprise, everything is working great.
I know it is a hassle, but worth the try.
Good luck...
Download an app from the Market called SDrescan
Ive noticed for whatever reason sometimes the phone will not scan the sd card on its own.
Try that out it worked for me. Every Once in a Blue Moon Now I have to run it to get some pics /and/or any media for that matter to show up.
Hey everyone,
This isn't about the standard Green Hornet 3D licensing issue. Rather, I have a bit of a different problem.
I do not have the Green Hornet 3D movie file on my phone. I experienced the licensing issue myself and factory reset my phone in order to sign into Watch during the initial setup. After the restore, I went in to check if I could watch the movie and it was gone.
Apparently during the reset my movie was deleted. Can anyone get the file to me? I've tried contacting HTC and Sprint and they both agree that I should be able to get it back. I've followed all their advice and have had no success.
It's located in the SD card.. did you format that by any chance?
Can you point me to the location it was preloaded to? I've checked on the SD card and can't find it. The restore may have formatted my SD card as well.

It's located under a folder called data, and within that folder is a sub folder called watch or HTC watch. You should be able to see it if you connect the phone to a pc.
Edit: you can use a file manager such as Astro to see it.
/sdcard/.data/HtcWatch/preload_movies
I have no preload_movies folder or file. I'm positive I no longer have the file anywhere. I made a poor assumption that the movie was a factory condition app.
I'm really looking for someone to transfer the file to me. Sprint claimed it would sync to my phone after a profile update (which I tried while over the phone with them) and it did not work.
I am having this same problem. I took the 8gb memory card and copied and pasted it to my 16gb memory card yet the file is on neither one now. Is there anyone that has the file or know where I can download it from?
same with mine i all ready contacted them and they dont seem to know what to do

you will need to extract all to a folder on your comp then place your sd card in a reader then place .data folder on sd card

OK so I fixed this by going into my gallery app and playing back a 3D video I shot myself then right away opening the Green Hornet again. Looks like this is another BUG.
I haven't had that issue yet...
The issue I'm having is anytime I try to start Watch, it tells me there's a software update available, even though I've already updated. When I check again, "There is no update for your device".
I really wanted to watch this movie too. Damn.
Doesn't exist anymore.. Can someone upload again or mirror plz

I had this issue as well, with the Green Hornet as well as the YouTube 3d content. Seemed like opening a 3d video that I made did switch it back.
I sold my Evo 4g when I did my upgrade and swapped sd cards thinking I would just put my 16 gig card in my new 3d and give the guy my blank 8gig card from the 4g. I didn't realize that the Green Hornet was saved on that. Anywhere I can redownload it. PM me if you know a place.

Is there any way to remove SPiderman and Green Hornet App?
not until we achieve perm root
I noticed the hypocrisy about sprint bragging you can remove bloat, but its only a few when it should be all of them.
Green Hornet is on your SD card, and yes, you can delete it's enormous ass. Spiderman on the other hand, seems to be staying around for a while.
Like Joe said, you can delete the Green Hornet data. Located on your SD card:
\\SDCARD\.data\HtcWatch\preload_movies
However, you can't get rid of the icon in your app drawer.
I was able to remove Spiderman from /system/app using Root explorer after rooting with the new perma-root that sticks I'd try it see if you can do it as well. Haven't tried removing Green Hornet yet though I actually liked it. Hope that helps!
So, if I changed SD cards and accidentally formatted the old one without copying The Green Hornet over, is there any way for me to get it again?
i haven't seen green hornet but i formatted my sd card so i can't watch it and can't get rid of the app icon in the app drawer @$#@

I've recently installed the official OTA HC Update on my BB 16G WiFi Flyer and noticed that the stock Music App (and any other Music App for that matter) doesn't find any of my music off of the MicroSD Card. Is anyone else having this issue and if so, has anyone found a fix?

Thanks. I did reboot and wait to no avail. In addition, I removed and re-inserted the card. I also copied my music files to the internal storage but still nothing. When the stock music app searches for files, I get a forced close message: "android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly".
I also found the the Gallary App doesn't see any photos stored on the card but when I take new photos with the camera, they do show up. This is strange. Maybe I will format the microSD card and copy the files over again via a USB connection to the Flyer.

If you’re getting forced close message you have another problem.
Did you restore anything after the update?

I have tried reformating the card, rebooting and turning off fastboot. I am out of ideas. I think it is time to try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, I guess it is back to GB.
Did an install of a new Rom last night. Had this problem. Rebooted, still not working. Installed power amp. Could see my music with that app. About an hour later, my stock music found my music. Don't think this is a real fix but sharing my recent experience

I've tried that, but no luck. A get a message that "the existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed".
I am at my wits end. I think it is time to roll back to GB.

Well, I am relatively sure the problem is with HTC's Wifi OTA HC Upgrade. I rolled back to GB and low-and-behold, my sd card music is there as are my photos and videos. I decided to try one more time and ran the OTA Update again...same story, Music and Gallery doesn't find any of my files.
So, one more time...back to GB and that is where I'll stay for now.
try installing a different player ... or leave ur music app running in backgroung for some time hope this might work.... if ur sd is class 4 or less it takes time to find music

PowerAmp does work but there is still the photo and video issue. I let the stock Music app run overnight and it still doesn't work. I also tried 3 different SD cards (class 4, 6 and 10)...no luck. Already back to GB where everything works as it should.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry for the noob question, but the Flyer is my first Android device. Is a roll back only accomplished with a full on ROM flash and subsequent reinstall of apps, etc? Or are you somehow doing an in place roll back similar to the OTA in place upgrades?

Official HC on Flyer does't find music on SD Card
Hi,
Try to clear the cache of the Music App. and the Gallery. At least this worked for me, within no time all my files showed up again
Another option you might try is to use ES File Explorer or a similar program. Go to the folders where your pictures and the music are, and create into this folder a new one. Don't put any files in this folder! Just rename the created folder in .nomedia and reboot with fastbootmode ( in the energy settings) disabled.
I had similar problems once with an Archos 70 Internettablet, and this was the solution that worked for me.....

I really appreciate the last two suggestions. I just don't think I want to go through getting all my apps and data back if I need to roll back again. Maybe someone else that has gone through with the OTA update and has the same problem can try these out.
There is need to roll back or anything like that to use the last 2 options. Just create an empty folder, named .nomedia in the folders where the files are that don't show up in your mediaplayers. You can do this using ES File Explorer ( for free in the Market) or you can hook up your Flyer to your PC, and create the .nomedia files there. Then just reboot...
I am coming from an OG EVE and I am uploading some apps with data that I would like to bring over to google drive.
Besides that what are you doing?
Are you just going to take your sd card out of the current phone and stick it in the new one? Good idea or bad?
I was thinking of just copying over my music/pictures and starting the sd card from scratch so I don't bring over all that garbage I have accumulated.
Thoughts on best practice here?
Good post. I too am a little new to transfer from old android phone to new android phone.
How exactly are people transferring phone numbers on the phone (not gmail) to the LTEvo? Are you just uploading everything to google and transferring?
As far as apps, I am putting faith in appbrain to just redownload all the apps?
This might be a noob question, but I will ask anyway. Once i set up my gmail account on the new phone? Will old evo not work w/ the same email? I read somewhere that you can only use one email with one phone.
I don't use google for contacts, so i exported everything to a VCF file on the sd card.
Most apps let you back up their settings, so I used that function. Not overly concerned about email. Once app is installed (k9 mail), and settings are imported, it's just a matter of refreshing to resync with the imap servers.
I do look forward to having root so I can run titaniumbackup to restore other apps/settings.
Id make sure all ur contacts r connected to Google or backed up somewhere so u don't end up re entering them all. As for my SD card. I'm backing it up then reformating it in the LTE. Gonna wait until I'm done setting it all up then restore some app data and pics/music. That's why I love Android a new phone and all u really need to do is log into Google and u have all ur stuff again

I just got myself a new 64 GB microsd card for the new toy. Starting on a clean slate.
Must haves:
64 gb micro sd
Hd media link
Otterbox def
Car dock
I have all but the otter and the car dock but soon will have
I use Google Drive for all my docs, Dropbox for all my pictures and videos, and Play Music for all my music....I literally have nothing important stored on my OG Evo right now......the only thing that's gonna suck is I have to start from scratch on all my games. Though I have Titanium Backup that backs up my my entire phone data to my Box account so whenever I get a chance to root, I'll get all my game data back.... I really do not want to start all over on angry birds lol
