Hi guys
I broke pins in simcard slot using converter for micro sim card.
I see thats really common issue...
I found few videos how to dissamble phone but all of them are belong to international version of Galaxy Note .(sim tray soldered to motherboard)
Have you ever seen video for I717?I have to see if I 717 has Flex Repair Part
before I order replacement kit and to be sure thats the right one...
I figured out that Note 717 has PCB Board like this http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Galaxy-Note-SGH-I717-SIM-Card-and-SD-PCB-Board-p/smsng6113855.htm
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...OSYcyoi6AnSHKR7ER%2B8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Which I think the right one .
Also I found tray for International version of Galaxy note N7000
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Galaxy-Note-GT-N7000-SIM-Card-Reader-Contact-p/smsng6113220.htm

Noting to do with repair here, but, I do have a micro sim adapter and didn't like it much.
I just have my msim 'hanging around' in the full slot with no issues now for about a month.

Can someone suggest a specific microsim adapter?
I will be going from an iPhone 4 to the GS2 and will need one.
I've been searching but I'm wary of the ones I'm finding becuase people say they are "junk"

I purchased 1 from ebay last night as ive lost my old 1 and my sim is kinda a home made 1 with tape holding it in lol, item number: 260774152209 is what i brought only 99p with free 1st class postage. I have IP4 sim too u see
I used the one supplied with the iPhone 4 sim pack with no problems. Might be a bit a pain to get out again, but I'm not planning on swapping sims too often.
Hey!!
I am needing a micro sim card adapter that works with the ol' beastly Note. I would appreciate it if you can show me what works well for you guys.
Thanks very much!
Just a quick heads up. Make sure there is some type of adhesive on the adapter to hold the microsim or you'll be in a world of trouble. I had one without and the sim adaptor got stuck in the prongs. It took me 30min to take it out with any damage but some people have broke their phones trying to rescue the adapter out.
I agree be careful of the adapter that you use

This might be a silly question but, why not talk to an AT&T rep at one of the stores and get a new sim? at most it should cost $5, last time I needed one they just gave me one.
Just a thought
I used an old membership card (Supermarket card to be exact), cut it to the approximate size and cut out a hole for the micro sim. I've done this twice without any problem. I used a piece of tape to hold the smaller sim in. The homemade free adapters work in my Dell Streak, my Galaxy Note and my wife's Galaxy Nexus just fine.
You can find templates online with a quick google search.
I'm sure you solved this by now but adapters are $.99 or less on eBay every day.

I bought these.. and they work great,, tried the ones papabear showed.. they for me were to flimsy....
Nope, its FREE! People would rather break their phone rather than go to the store and get a new sim -_-

Getting a new sim is easy,, but if u switch between devices alot like me. then a micro sim and adapter is the way to go.. i switch between my one x and note and galaxy tab alot..
Why does it list my device as using a micro sim when mine uses a normal sim?
I got a cutter. Cut my full size SIM and now have a micro AND an adapter. Go to att store, they'll give you a SIM.

Haha coming from an HTC one x(that came out broken) i had to get my sim cut to a microsim as my only replacement choice was this Note1.. i simply kept moving the tiny simcard abit more in.. abit more out.. abit to the left side suuper slowly until the phone read it lolz and i havent taken out ever since
Frugality ftw!
I am so ****ed right now...
My SIM card got jammed and I pulled it out and broke one of the three golden sim connectors and now it won't read any SIM cards!
What really annoys me is that it isn't like I had an alternative. I couldn't take it to a Nokia store and get a genius to sort me out as they don't exist.
Now I have to call up Nokia and get it fixed. God knows how much they will charge. It isn't a big thing to fix but it is new.
If anyone has any tips or advice I would welcome it? How much will it cost me to get this fixed? I read that the whole board would need to be replaced which is very expensive?

Last year I had a problem with my focus and I went to an ATT service center(I don't know the proper name) and got an instant replacement. I believe these places are not widespread; you'd have to look it up. Hopefully whoever looks at it will see that it was stuck. If you forced it out, that could be a problem. First talk to the place where you bought the phone. Reattaching a connector doesn't sound like an extreme problem.
Hi, I've got this same problem and they have asked me the price of a new one as they say they have to change all the circuits. Have you find a way to fix it already?
any hints on this matter?
Cheers!
Roberto.
Damn, I had this happen yesterday, After I had successfully flashed UK firmware from Polish and got the black update, Booked it in for collection and repair, Stupid nano to micro sim adapter was to blame as it got jammed in sim tray, I guess I will be charged for repair centre to fix?
I think something like this happened as well.
I think the person who had this phone inserted the sim wrong
then that might of broke or bent one the pins
I'l looking and can only see two of the three clearly.
So will take it to get checked out. Hopefully can be fixed quite easily.
I use my phone with a sim cutted by me and it works good (its shorter ),and i tryed to sell the phone everything went smooth and then the man came back showing me that the phone will not hold the microsim inside (vodafone microsim corect size).
And my question is how cand i repair it ,shoud a i buy something or just do some procedures .
Yes the SIM reader can be replaced, take it to a service center.
buy the slot on ebay and replace it, very easy
Also you could check the slot contacts, check them for alignment etc, torch, magnifying glass and needle needed

yes, it is
I need to find a replacement SIM/ SD module (a small part which contains the slots the SIM and SD chips go in) for a Galaxy S3 SGH-T999L. I am not sure whether parts for the T999 would be compatible with the T999L. The part is everywhere for other model numbers, but replacement parts for the T999L seem impossible to find. Is it possibly the same part as the T999? I wouldn't know. I have searched high and low for the answer to this seemingly simple question, and I'm the only person I know of to ever raise this question on the internet, which I think is just funny.
Thanks for any any answers.
Jason
I tried to do a mother board swap from a t999 to a t999l but the bezels don't line up but the screen and digitizer should be compatible...
Let me know how that turned out. There is 2 pins missing from the sim tray on a T999L and I see that I can buy the T999_ but I'm not sure if I'm about to eat $10
