I was on hboot 1.50 unlocked with s-off. I got a new sd card yesterday and loaded the 1.40 ruu on to it and now I'm just 1.40 with s-off. No more pink banner and I still can flash anything. Pretty sweet...guess I have a weird phone.

Dude I just asked this in another thread a minute ago. lol
I am in the same boat. I rooted with Revolutionary and was S-off on 1.40. I accidentlaly flashed a radio/firmware update that pushed me to hboot 1.50 S-off with a Pink Locked banner.
I really want to get back to 1.40.
Can you link me to what you flashed or did?
Just put the p86img.zip containing hboot 1.40 on root of sd-card and go into bootloader. It will auto-detect it and tell you to press vol. up to flash it. It's not a 'weird' phone, it's having the security flag off .
Lol I downloaded the 1.40 ruu file, renamed it to PG86IMG.Zip,put it on a different sd card, put the new sd card in my phone and ran it when it was done my phone didn't have the pink banner anymore and it didn't say 1.50 now I'm back to good old 1.40 s-off and no pink banner

Where do I find just the Hboot? I saw Haus's thread with Engineering hboot. There was a 1.4 and 1.04 version I think? Do I just grab the 1.4 version?
I am 1.50 S-Off and it says Locked.
*Edit* LINK REMOVED: I don't wanna confuse people. You must have had S-off with revolutionary first, in order to roll back off hboot 1.50
Yeah just grab the 1.40 file, download it and rename it to PG86IMG.ZIP,then go into recovery and you know the rest lol...yeah not the mirror one

If I'm reading the post done here... I think it means if you had 1.40 hboot before and used the s-off method but by mistake upgraded your hboot. You can then downgrade your hboot, I'm not so sure though! Give a try and let us know.

No, you need S-OFF to flash HBOOT 1.40 over HBOOT 1.50. The HTC Unlocked HBOOT allows you to flash a custom recovery and ROMs, but not overwrite HBOOT.
can we flash hboot 1.40 from fastboot ('adb reboot bootloader' from pc)
Okay, so i was previously on HBOOT 1.50 with an htc unlock, however thanks to XDA Member Unknownforce i am now back to HBOOT 1.40 with Revolutionary S-Off, if i ran the latest RUU 2.17.651.5 or PG86IMG file with hboot 1.50.nbo will i then be on 1.5 with s-off or ...
Dont do the official update I am on RUU 2.17.651.5 with Hboot 1.4 S-off after doing the upgrade.
There is a thread on here that has the updates you need to keep you off of hboot 1.5
freeza's all in one firmware update
I downgraded hboot from 1.50 to 1.40 successful but my bootloader doesn't say locked or unlocked. And it won't let me down grade my software from 2.17 to 1.13, anybody have any thoughts?

You need to run the 1.13 RUU
Closeone has a full step by step in his downgrade tool thread that will help, & u can reference exactly where ur stuck.

So continuing from my last thread, since this I suppose would be a seperate question, I can't run the ruu.exe!
So this is how it went down:
1. fastboot oem lock
2. Got the 2.17 ruu.exe from goo.im
3. Ran the ruu.exe
4. Got about a quarter of the way through and got an error saying it can't update to 2.17 because of something with the bootloader. What did I do wrong?

Are you going backwards? I believe you meant 1.58 right? If so you cannot use the ruu.exe of an older hboot. You are essentially downgrading the hboot by doing this. HTC stopped this from happening by only allowing the same hboot or newer to be flashed. That's why it took so long before 1.50 could go s-off.

I have to ship my hox+ back soon and for some reason the ruu doesn't work I get bootloader version error. This is the ruu that I have been using RUU_EVITARE_UL_JB_45_Cingular_US_1.15.502.9_Radio_1.09.55.17_18.20.95.55L_release_290329_signed.exe. Any help would be much appreciated I need to get this thing back to stock.
Has your phone already booted into hboot when you get that error? I had a similar error (maybe the same one) when I was flashing the 1.15 stock 2 weeks ago because the phone didn't boot into hboot on its own. I put the phone into hboot after relocking the bootloader. Then ran the RUU and it worked perfectly.
are you on Hboot 1.40? If so, you'll probably want to use the 1.19 RUU.
Where is the 1.19? I've only found the one I'm using.
EDIT:I am running HBOOT 1.40 I will try running the ruu again and see if it works this time.
Found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2238839

You can also get the 1.19 RUU from HTC's website.
