Hello to all. I have used the ics/cm9 settings apk for stock based roms and it is quite a sight to see on our beloved ace running stock based roms. It just came to mind if ever it is possible to incorporate the cyanogen performance settings into the stock settings. It's just a thought though. Would love to hear about possibilities. Thanks..
Its possible

so youre saying, even if it was implemented. it will never work? tsk tsk tsk... thats too bad.. if it were made to work, there would be no need for cpu managers since it is already built in. is there a way to make it work?

so if cyanogenmod performance settings be implemented, it should be the whole cyanogenmod settings and not its bits, correct? would that mean extracting that certain part of the settings.apk of cyanogenmod and incorporating it within stock settings.apk? im sorry for all these questions, im just curious and would like to know. i hope you dont mind..

This is just a simple question I wanna ask out of curiosity. Is it possible to replace part of the system files with deodexed and leave the rest as odexed?
If this works it can be useful for people who wants easy theming but faster system and more space in /data.
And how discriminate that, which no and which yes ? three folders, 1 apk+odex, 2 apk and 3 common deodex files ?

Odex - better performance and optimisation
Deodex - themeing and better theme modifications
It's something like enabling triple buffering in Left 4 Dead 2 .
Performance or visual niceties .

No, read first post. If you could mix deodexed files with odexed, you could have a deodexed framework and odexed other stuff so you get easy theming but still better performance - I'm asking if this can be done.

To be honest I don't know. But I don't see why not? If the file can be run in different ways what makes it such that all of it must have the .odex?
So... no answers !!
Okay if anyone would be interested, this is possible. I'm using a deodexed framework on the odexed rc1 and it works good.

Hi xda devs,
I came across one interesting tweak in galaxy s section. Called as edt tweak. Can we not have something similar for our sga?
I have already tested that systemui.apk works across the roms and this tweak is based on that.
So we need a modified systemui.apk and edt tweak. Its very much similar to interface and lockscreen settings in cm.
I hope our wonderful and brilliant xda devs can build such tweak for our ace as well.

Guess this is it http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/mod-edt-tweaks-app-for-darkyrom-10-2-guide.4348/
Ok...For that tweak to work, first we need 9 lockscreen mod and then somebody should port darkyrom..

Hi all. Using CM10 but would prefer a DPI of 200.. I've tried changing the DPI but after doing so the device doesn't boot. Just wondering if its possible and, if so how?
Would have posted this in the CM10 topic but these kind of posts tend to get ignored!
Thanks to anyone who can help.

From bad to worse.
If you change to 200dpi, then change back to 240dpi. That's the solution. Re-flash CM10.
Support for CM: no mods, stock kernel, stock dpi, everything stock. Changed one and got a bug? No one cares, your fault, CM doesn't support it.
PS: next time post at Q&A.
What? I'm not playing a bug. I'm asking g if its possible to do. You clearly didn't read what I was asking, correctly.
Move on.

I just edit build.prop file with the Solid Explorer internal editor, and that seems to work every time.

If it's not booting, it's dpi fault. Man, it's like breaking a pencil with your own hands and asking what did break that pencil. Think a bit.
okay, and now you asked at cm10's thread. Grow up.

Next phone: Galaxy NOTE II
Has anyone solved this yet?
Can we change DPI on CM10 without killing it?
I know the devs don't want to support it as a publicly visible setting, but for those of us that want to take the risk?
Did you test it?
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580070 (add http:// ) this is paranoid android it is designed to let you alter the dpi's of the phone for specific apps or for the system apps and it has most of cm's features built in
Hi guys, my first thread here.
I flashed a custom ROM on my galaxy s3 i9300 a wile ago, and I am trying to find it now. I cant remember its name.
What I do remember is that the ROM came with Stweaks installed, and it had somw kind of installation tool whwre you could choose what tweaks you wanted to get installed, and what kernel you wanted to use as welk as what launcher you wanted.
If somebody knows the name, that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance!
Sounds like any other rom around. Stweaks preinstalled means it comes with eother siyah or some other kernel supporting stweaks. The fact that you could customize your installations means it had aroma which all touchwiz roms have.
Impossible to tell what rom you had with that info.

You also didnt have to download new versions of the rom to update it, you just had to update the installer.
Dont know if this info helps at all :/

Nope, I haven't the slightest idea what rom it could be. Complete out of the blue:
Omega?
Criskelo?
Did it come with the Nature UX (stock touchwiz) theme as default or some aosp theme? Was it ICS or JB?

Aww :/
Actually, what I was first trying to do is see if I could somehow keep the stock samsung apps (messages, gallery, camera...) on CM10.1, cause I didn't like its stock android apps too much, but I liked the themes for CM haha I guess you can't exactly do that with CM so I was looking for another more stock rom. Too bad I can't install those CM themes cause there are some really sweet ones.
Cm themes won't work with Sammy roms and Sammy apps won't work with cm
Flash Omega maybe? Completely stock is boring but Omega's awesome
