Don't use that bull*hit hopeless SE default alarm. I was late to work a few times because of it. I have been using Alarm Clock plus for 3 weeks now and so far so good
As the previous poster, I use an other Alarm app. I've been using AlarmDroid. Great alarm, with option to shake to disable and flip to snooze

if you are killing all the running process using task killer then alarm clock will stop working.
Solution: add alarm clock process to ignore list in task killer.

Not too sure, haven't tried this rom. Download an alarm clock from the market, they are usually better than the stock alarm clocks in my opinion.
