If you've noticed that clicking certain links no longer gives you a choice of which app you'd like to open it with, such as a YouTube link going straight to the browser instead of asking which app, this is the cause of it. Use Root Explorer or ES with root privs and navigate to /system/app and delete HTCLinkifyDispatcher.apk
Problem solved.
P.S. Make a backup of it if you wish incase a bug arises. I've deleted it on 2 of the 3.6 ICS roms with no trouble though.

I tried this the other day when someone posted it and was unable to get links to Reddit to open in one of my Reddit apps. Perhaps I was doing it wrong, but this way is easier. Problem solved with no crippleware remaining.

Here's how u do it, go to menu, settings, applications, manage applications, click on all tab at the top and then find the android market one and click on it, then click clear data. The next time u open market it will update to the newest version!!

Exactly. Like I was saying before. That trick only works if the new market has already pushed to your handset and is just sitting waiting on you. If it hasn't pushed there nothing you do will make it pull the dl of the new market aside from downloading the apk from here.

Really, I just did that right now and loaded that screen. Checked the cmas box on it.
There is a thread in the evo 4G section about hacking your evo 3g speeds I forget the exact name. But if you hit the paper clips icon on it, there are like a dozen epst apks. Any of them should work. I'm at work right now otherwise I'd link you.

So you got the ##2627# menu? Unless I'm doing something wrong, seems like it won't work. I'm using root explorer, putting the epst.apk in /system/app, changing permissions, a reboot and that menu won't pop.
Ill also put the apk in /app, then touch to install it. If you can get the menu, I want the menu! :-(

Well I've tried about five epst.apk's ...then I messed with some XML in mms.apk which bootlooped me. There are options in some XML files for the default state of the alerts which is enabled. I'd like to edit some XML, see if that does any good.

Yup - its got a few little differences though - like the app menu icon on the right hand side which you dont seem to be able to move.
obviously other alternatives are apex/nova etc.
Anybody ever got Hulu+ working on the HTC Amaze? I've downloaded the moded APK since our phones aren't 'compatible' with hulu. But all I get is an endless buffer.
Which ROM? I get internet connection problems.

You have to make sure you don't have ad-blocker on your phone. disable it when you want to use hulu, then re-enable when done.

Viper uses ad away. Basically go to the ad away app disable ad blocking then delete the app.

Click the blocker app, the is a disable button.
You don't have to delete your add blocker. Disabling it works just as well.

Might need go delete your host file, or rename it. The app itself is probably okay to leave alone.

If you don't have adaway installed you need to install it. A quick google search will point you in the right direction to the apk since it was removed from play. Once installed, press disable. You can enable and disable all you want.
