[Q] The device is unlocked - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

So ASUS won't help because of I am trying to use the Asus Unlock tool. Once I mention it they say good bye. it's amazing how a company wont' support their own software!
Has anyone had the issue where when they click on the 'Press to unlock your device' and all you get is a messge of 'The device is unlocked' and than nothing?
What did you do to unlock your tf201? I tried doing a full factory reset and also down grading to .15.
Thanks!

Dumb question, but how do you know that you are not unlocked? Have you tried to install CWM or TWRP? If I recall, when I ran the unlock tool all that happened was that I got "the device is unlocked" on the splash screen, it rebooted then back to stock exactly like it was before. Nothing was different.
Sorry to thread jack but do unlocked people always get "the device is unlocked" on the splash screen on every boot? I have got the impression from screenshots etc. that happens every boot. I only saw it once though, now my splash screen has no text on it when I boot (unless I run CWM )

Can't install CWM or TWRP. Can't get into fastboot. Don't see the 3 options. I only see 2 options when I hold down and power button.
Don't see the message when I reboot.
My device never rebooted when I clicked on the button.

I had the same problem with my prime. Your device is not unlock.I unlock my device before, but afterward I have to send it in for rma service with Asus. after i got the device back I can't unlock it no more. It keep on giving me unknown error message when I try to unlock

When you first boot it up on the asus splash the top left corner has small text saying the device is unlocked, if it is....

So how do I get this thing to unlock without Asus's help?
THANK YOU ASUS for NOT supporting your own software!!

Interesting...do you have Unlock_Time.txt in /sdcard?
Sent from my EPAD using xda premium

I get the unlock_time.txt file on the internal drive not /sdcard. I get it every time I click on the button, but I'm sure it's not unlock. I tried installing CWM and TWRP. I get blob verification signature failed when it reboots. I also don't see the 2 options when I try to boot into fastboot. I only get the andriod and wipe data.

I mean the internal drive when I say /sdcard. What does your unlock_time.txt file say? Mine says "Last Unlock Device Time: Sat Mar 10 23:34:59 EST 2012". Yours should say something similar. Which method did you use to try to flash the recovery?
Sent from my EPAD using xda premium

Mine says similar also.
I tried both CWM and TWRP.
CWM I tired method 1 and 2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576937
For TWRP I tried the GooManager - Install OpenRecoveryScript
Every time I try I get the 'blob verification signature failed' and it reboots normal.

[Q] Unlockable bootloader

I already rooted and add CWM; however I can not unlock the bootloader. It keep on giving me an error message of "Unknown Error, maybe due internet connection issue please wait and try again later". Not sure what else to do... Please help
my suggestion: Go to the asus website, download the firmware for whatever version you are on, put it in the root of your prime and restart.
after it finishes restarting do an update, it will detect the file you just added and let you revert to stock through that file.
after its done reinstalling everything back to stock try unlocking again.
The asus installers tend to be really sticky about customized stuff on the tablets when you try to update. most of the time when i try to OTA i have to use this meathod to revert to stock first. Good luck!
I just download the apk from the Asus site. I installed it and the same error message happened.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
silly question but you have a good internet connection? perhaps its failing because its not able to send the signal to asus and get the key in response?
If that doesnt work i know one of the root tools had an unlock function built into it, im not sure how it differs from the stock unlock tool i know it would do the same thing but maybe through your compuers internet signal instead of the primes? Sorry i cant remember the name of it right now, if it comes to me ill post it.
I do have good wifi signal. I keep trying and same thing happened.

Can you boot into CWM? If you can then you're unlocked. If that is the case I would bet you are getting the error because you can't unlock twice
When you reboot your prime and if you don't see a message on the top left corner saying something 'unlock' then you're not unlock. When you reboot and hold the power button and volume down to get into recovery and you're getting the dead android you're not unlock.
When you run the Rom Manager to install CWM it will ALWAYS says success if you have root. It doesn't actually mean it worked.
It just show me the Android guy laying down. I did unlocked it before I sent it in for repair. Not sure if u can unlock more then once

Think I found the answer to unlockable bootloader...
I can't say this will work for everyone but this worked for me just yesterday.
If you don't get the three icons when booting into bootloader you are not unlocked...those three being "Wipe Data", "USB", and "Android". Using the modded ViperMod tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25508554&postcount=52):
Unroot the Prime
If you have already downgraded to .15 great. If you have not do so now.
After the downgrade has completed, on your Prime go to "Settings" then go to "Backup & Reset" then a "Factory Data Reset". (Warning: All data will be erased).
After the reset has completed go back through the ViperMod tool...first root, then unlock (If you have done it correctly the Asus Unlock Tool will show up in your app drawer.) Then install CWM.
You should now be ready to flash your custom ROM.
Hope this helps. I have a bald spot from scratching my head over this one.

He has a TF201, build number -- iml74k.us_epad-9.4.2.11.1-20120118
This is whats going on
--When I try to boot into recovery I get the android guy on the ground with the red triangle
--When I try to unlock the device I get "unkown network errors please try later"
--When flashing the newest CWM trough Rom manager I get "blob signature verification failed and the reboots normaly
--Theres only 2 options in bootloader "wipe" and
--Also when I try System Firmware update i get no updates available
--Ive tryed viper mod with no luck, I was able to "unroot" and "root" the tablet but I cant do anything else, theres the option to downgrade to .15 but I need to upgrade and I cant.
little bit of the back story is: he bought tablet new, had to update to ICS, then rooted the device somehow (he doesnt remember), he thinks he had CWM before but Im not so sure.
Im completly lost and I have no ideal what to do next, please I need some help.

[Q] Prime bricked, no recovery, but still have fastboot. Anything I can do?

So i was messing around with my prime. trying to regain root access after the 4.1.1 update, but it seems i have somehow deleted my recovery.
The Bootloader is unlocked, and I can still put it in Fastboot mode, but trying to select recovery just gives me an error like this (see here: http://i.imgur.com/mpYCd.jpg)
If I try to boot Android, I get the Asus logo in middle + nvidia logo in bottom right.
Is there anything I can do here, or am I completely screwed?
(sorry that this thread gets posted so often, I searched, but I couldn't find anything specifically relating to this issue.)

[Q] p769 - bootloader - fastboot - stumped

UPDATE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461483

i don't know how any one is getting any of this done. i've been able to root, several times, install CWM, several times, but i can not seem to figure out how to boot into the fastboot, or into the bootloader so that i can use fastboot, so that i can unlock my bootloader. is there some magical secret that every one else in the world knows, except me???
i'm running v20d. i've got fastboot and adb installed on linux (debian), and i can shell into the phone via adb, and then substitute user* as root and delete bloat ware and every thing else - but i can't figure out how to boot into bootloader... i've tried "adb reboot bootloader" and "adb reboot-bootloader" (yes, the 2nd one is valid), but both just reboot the phone, then i see the CWM flashing lights, then it continues to boot as normal - a few times i got the dead droid icon.
i can do all this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43401184 but i can't get into the danged bootloader... this can't be just me, but it seems like i'm the only one that has no clue how to get this right

* "su -" does not stand for superuser - that's a misgnomer, and since most of the mobile hackers are windows users, they never know that little detail - and you should include the dash after su, so that the shell assumes the root user's home directory and reads the root user's .bashrc env vars, etc
LG prevents rebooting in bootloader on most phones, including this one. Entering fast boot with the script and running the command fails BC its not an official fastboot its user compiled.

You're not the only one. I am also unable to unlock. I agree with omgbossis21 when he mentions that LG blocked access to fastboot. I tried several key combinations but none worked.

"Security error"

Could someone help me with this issue?
I unlocked the bootloader of my p768 a while ago, and then I sent it to the carrier service, because it was having some signal problems.
I read that, once you unlock your bootloader, you can't lock it again, so, when I got it back, it was kind of restored and today I tried to flash Clockworkmod (.img file) and when I tried to reboot it, it said "Security Error", I followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470248
And when I connected the phone to the computer, and it says that the device already has the most recent version.
What do I do? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Are you using the stock cable? If not, do so.
Have you made sure nothing else (NOTHING ELSE BUT THE NECESSARY) is connected to the other USB ports? Unplug stuff.
Do you have the drivers needed? Uninstall, redownload, reinstall.
Have you tried on another USB port?
Do you have any idea, based on the logs the program generates, about what might be wrong?
I've done it! I finally was able to do it. I uploaded it with the battery, I know the guide says you shouldn't but it worked, now... Does anyone know how to re-root the device? I unlocked the bootloader a while ago and then I sent it to service, but how do I "root" the phone again?

reboot to bootloader (Or boot in your place) and navigate to factory mode and keep pressing the power button for about 20-30 times and then your phone will boot. Now select allow OEM unlock and unlock your bootloader and reflash the stock ROM or any other ROM you want. Good Luck!!

Did you notice that you can receive a code to unlock the device om the Motorola site?
They'll email you a code after you enter a code the phone produces. There are tutorials. If you've done this already, I apologize. But it's worth checking into if you overlooked it.

The issue is that he cannot get the code to unlock the device because he did not check "Allow OEM Unlock" in the Developer Options. Since he is unable to boot his device, he is unable to get to the menu to check that option.
