Hey all. After a smashed Evo 3D. I decided to get the Otterbox Commuter for the Evo 4G LTE as soon as it is available. The wife has one on the Razr Maxx and it feels great and looks good so going that way.
Here are the questions I have.
- Has anyone found an Armband that fits the Evo 4G LTE? I had one that fit the Evo 3D, but it was tight.
- Anybody work out with an Armband and have Commuter on their current or previous phones? Curious how easy it is to put on and take off for the Armband.
Thanks!
whoops, didn't see you already posted about the armband hahaha. I'm looking for one as well.
Has anybody found an armband that fits? I really want to go running with my evo!
None. I have an AkronXL armband that worked on the Evo 3D. It isn't tall enough.

I got this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004I8AW9O/
Fits with and without a case. bit tight with a case though(diztronic).
Also, the band doesn't get too small. So probably should only get it if you have larger arms.
anyone else try this one for the LTE? opinions? thoughts?
I just emailed Arkon about their new XXL Armband to see if it will fit the Evo 4g LTE. Waiting to hear back.

along with the armband extender:

Will report back once I have it.
I only have the Diztronic TPU case on my LTE though.
I ordered this one: http://iarmbands.com/Arm-Band-Armband-for-HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-cab-evo4gLTE.htm
I'll report back on how it fits when I get it in the mail in a few days.

Did you receive this yet? I was surprised it fit an Otterbox, that is my issue now. I need something that will fit this with the Commuter on it.

We saw one similar to this at a stand in the mall yesterday, but I wasn't thrilled how the top of the phone was just barely in there.. and that was without a case. I think we are going to order these though to see if they work for us.. fingers crossed!
I got my iarmbands one in the mail a few days ago, and it's really nice for only 12.95 shipped! It's fits the height very well, even with my TPU case on. My only complaint is that it's a bit too wide. Also if you have big arms you may want an extender, but otherwise it's a great deal!
I ended up getting the iArmbands case for HTC phones in Otterbox cases. If you go to their site they have the model number there. It fits great with my Otterbox Commuter. It even fit my nephew's Droid Razr Maxx in an Otterbox Defender.
The only thing I don't like is that the armband itself isn't elastic and is very short. I contacted iArmbands about this and they recommended an extender from TuneBelt.
I had to cut the case for the headphones to fit as the holes didn't align. Not a big deal. I am thinking of buying the TuneBelt for large phones in otterbox and seido cases. I might do that when I order the extender. I miss having an elastic band versus the nylon? one with the iArmbands case.

I went to BestBuy yesterday looking for a case and I saw that one. In my opinion, it has two problems.
1.- The kickstand is made of thin plastic, it might be functional, but it doesnt look very sturdy.
2.- (The biggest one) Once the phone is on the stand, the USB port ends up facing the table so you cant charge your phone and use the kickstand at the same time.
On the other hand, its the only option for now if you have to have one.
I rather wait until the official comes out or the dock.
The official HTC case for the 3VO will be just like the Thunderbolts, nice and slim with a meaty metal kickstand.
i bought the body glove vibe cover from the sprint store and love it. it only comes in purple that i know of. it is 24.99 and i received 25% off for buying two accessories.
edit it fits perfectly in the car dock from sprint.
I shelled out the 35 for the kickstand case (pt) from BB. More than I would usually spend on a case but it doesn't add much bulk at all and the kickstand is nice to have. It does seem on the fragile side but it locks in pretty good so I don't think it will pop out when it's not supposed to. There are 2 settings - out and out a little further. The 2nd enables you to stand it in portrait and thus charge the phone. Not a perfect case, but pretty nice.
The body glove kickstand idea looks cool but it looks bulky and well ... it's purple.

I got this yesterday also...I really like it, and I'm not a case-kind-of-guy! My OG EVO, no case, perfect condition not a single mark on it. I feel this phone has to have it just to be able to set it down safely without scratching the camera lenses which I did on my first E3D within 4 days, not good! I feel a lot more safe with this case and the cheesy little kickstand works fine. Was hoping it would still fit into that HTC car mount but no go. Picked up the universal car mount at Sprint and I am a happy E3D owner!
anyone have experience with this case? thoughts?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Holst...ps=63&clkid=5516073863120009085#ht_1377wt_702
OK, I'm not a fan. Its an OtterBox knockoff without the hard plastic case. But $9.00, you have nothing to loose!
Isn't it more like this one?
http://www.amazon.com/Technocel-Hol...QO/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1326241379&sr=8-12
For the price I'd go with Technocel over ebay's version. I actually have it and it's quite nice.
Believe it or not they are the SAME EXACT item. Technocel asks a manufacturer in China to make it, then they make it for Technocel, then sell some on eBay themselves. I ran into the same situation with the following:
this Amazon case
and
this eBay case
SAME THING!
I got it on eBay for $2.95 + free shipping.
BoxWave was going to sell it for $19.95 and a shipping charge. I bought it from eBay, while BoxWave was having a pre-sale. (It would be shipped when ready.) People actually paid $19.95 for it.
I emailed the company and told them and their response was "I'm glad you found a similar case."
I sent them the links, and they replied "It is the same, because of this, we will lower our price to $9.95", and they did, but I got the case before it came out in the US directly from the manufacturer at a cheaper price.

The issue I see with this case as well as the Technocel one is the fact neither provide much screen protection in the sense that if your Motorola Photon 4G falls either face down or bounces on the ground and ends up face down, your LCD more than likely will shatter. If I'm not sporting the Otterbox Defender Series case for mine, I'll carry my Motorola Photon 4G in a Trident Aegis Series one. True, the Aegis Series cases don't have a holster clip like the one you reference or the Technocel case/holster combo Mongofrye, but I find the Aegis case by itself is thin enough for keeping in my pocket.

At the same time, both cases provide a lip that protect the screen. At the same time, you have a Gorilla Glass Screen. Now, I love Trident, and I would have a Trident case for my Photon but I could not stand not having a landscape holster. So, that is the only reason why I choose the Defender...
Trident does have wonderful cases though!
Go for the Trident Aegis if you don't mind being without a holster, guys! Great Case!.
(I swear if another mod PM's me saying this is spam, I will never create a post or comment on an accessories post, ever again.)

i saw this one on amazon and figured it is like the one they sell at the sprint store. I like it because (minus the holster) it is very low profile.
I honestly like very basic protection. i hate adding tons of bulk to my phone. The one on Ebay looks different in the fact that it has a soft inside on the holster and the clip swivels in order to act like a stand. Could be used at a desk and you could flip it around to allow charging while in landscape mode.
Either way, i looked a little deeper into amazon and found i think the same one as the one you posted above for only $2.99 + .99 shipping. I went ahead and ordered it. I'll report back on quality.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006L8APYQ/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details
In my opinion, the TPU cases provide probably the best protection with the least amount of bulk, but i just can't stand that there aren't cutouts over the volume and camera buttons. Such a pain. If anyone can find me one, i'll jump on it.
This is just another instance where the case is the EXACT same as the Technocel case listed above, and for this reason, I'm gonna go ahead and order it. Savingsss, oh, how I love savings!

I'm getting the commuter and a set of really nice screen protectors for this. I had the Defender for my DInc2; it was too bulky and the built in screen protector sucked a lot. It got dirty really easily and dust got under it too well. I'd rather have a slimmer case and a quality screen protector.
The accessory I'm most excited about is the Media Link though. It's a pretty penny, but that will be a really cool feature. Emulators on your TV with your phone as the controller. It's gonna be real nice.

I had a defender for my Evo OG and I was able to remove the protector and use my phantomskinz. It was just held in with some type of adhesive and it actually made a pretty good seal with my screen protector.
So if you want to go without a protector, I would imagine it shouldn't be a problem to remove.
Is there a band to go around it? Similar to how the iPhone antennae issue was "fixed". I don't want a case, but I would like a ~2mm lip to protect the glass when laying face down.
Edit: After some googling, apparently they are called bumpers. I can probably get a cheap-o from ebay after release. Does anyone have any experience with a bumper case?
I'm hoping for Trident to release a case... i love their Aegis on my E4GT...i wont consider another brand

TPU-cases.com are usually $8 or so in the early stages and then once more knockoffs come to market you can get cheaper. Honestly, I would pay evwn more as long as I have a case the day my phone arrives that I know I will like. Put a case on as soon as box is open and phone will look like new next year when it's time to upgrade, again.

I had the Rugged case(later renamed convert) for my OG EVO. It was a heavy duty case. Basically it starts with the surface case and then you add a rubber cover over the top of that and a plastic back clamps it all together. There are flip out covers over charge port and camera. The idea is you can adjust haw much protection you need. They also have a value pack that comes with two holsters. One for just the surface and one for the full convert case.
It did save my phone once when it popped out of the holster and landed in water. Just floated. I got real lucky.
I really like the case but it was a little on the thicker side. I went with active case this time. More protection that the surface but not as extreme as the convert.
MEM10 is 10 dollars off combos and MEM5 is 5 dollars off cases. This is on the seidio online website.

something different:

I would like to have a case that protects my phone but also does not make it any more larger than it already is, i had the commuter otterbox on my last phone and it was bulky but my phone was atrix 4g so it was just the right size, the htc one x+ is big in my hands by itself. I do drop and ding my phone a bunch while i work or do outdoor activities, but not too extreme.

I had an online chat with a Seidio rep about the One X+ and the Surface case - they told me that neither the AT&T/LTE case or the International case will work. I am skeptical of that claim, so I am ordering one of each (w/o kickstand) to see which works better. I should have them next Tuesday.
Edit: Returned my phone today (last day of my 14 day return window) due to the bluetooth issue, so I will still have the cases on Tuesday, but won't be able to test them. If anyone is in the PDX area and wants to try (or buy?) them, let me know, otherwise they will be going back. FYI, the International version of the Seidio Surface case with holster in red or blue is less than $11 at Amazon, $50 at Seidio and $25+ for the AT&T version at Amazon, so very good deals.
im rocking this case, good luck breaking your phone in this case one piece design and its a sexy looking case, fitment is 100% perfect on att one x plus i paid $18 on amazon normally $35 at At&t
I got the case mate barely there. It looks amazing!
Just ordered a casemate, for now. Let me know if anyone has any of the other cases i mentioned, i am still curious.
I have the otterbox and find its not as bulky as some other cases and it provides really good protection as well.
