Hi everyone so i bought an HDMI cable and when i connect to my TV everything works great except when i try to open a flash video and i connect it, it freezes and sometimes crashes...:/
so does anyone know why this happens??
I know I've said it a hundred times in various posts. But here goes again.
Try Dice player with the tegra2 codecs/plugin.
Mine used to crash at random about every 10 minutes. And return me to the list of movies in the player, such as mx player. Dice has never given one issue, and uses hardware rendering for everything.

last night i decided to watch a movie ( star wars episode 1) and every few minutes it would stop and go back to the movie selection screen. I wasn't a set time it would stop like every 5 minutes or 2 minutes. Sometimes it would last 30 sec some times 15 minutes.
So i thought maybe it was the player so i downloaded rockplayer,qq,bs,mobo,mx etc. I tried them all and no luck it still did it every time.
So i thought since star wars as a mkv file it was problem, but no i played adventure time witch was a .avi movie and still the something. Then i thought well maybe it's the display timer so i turned it off, nope still doing it.
My prime is docked and its one of the primes with unknown serial and i have manually updated to ics. If any of that info helps.
I'm converted the movie unknown to mp4 and I'm going to try that to night and see if it still does it.
Any help would appreciated. thanks
same Problem. beginn after root maybe?
What app are you using for playback? I had similar issue with MX Player but did not experience this issue with BS Player.

I use dice player for mkvs and it is smooth like butter, best player i have found by far. If i play 1080p videos i have to copy them to the tablet but i can wirelessly stream 720p np from my desktop to myprime via es file explorer. I do hdmi out for most movies.
Hope this helps
BS player works great, thanks to whoever suggested it--I wasn't able to seek to certain parts of most of my movies without them crashing, but this player has no trouble finding any spot I want
I bought Asus transformer prime, but after week i noticed that video playing stops after 10 minutes (up to 30 minutes) stops, Player closes and return to file explorer. I tried many video player but there is still this problem. I tried es task manager to prevent auto closing, but without succcess.
Can anyone help me?
EDIT: I tried default settings, but the problem still exist
i have the same issue maybe tegra 3 not supported yet on video playback apps?
Countdown for demandarim to come here and cheer things up
Try MX Video Player, by far the best video player. Works great on the prime.
I have used my prime to play videos of varying length and have not had any problems. Are you streaming from YouTube or Netflix? Or your own video? I am using MX Video Player and have used MoboPlayer. No problems with either.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Try DicePlayer Ad. It supports SMB. It's much better than an external FileManager because they open a second http session for the videoplayer.
with mx video player on non HD videos this happens to me, with H/W videos is fine but with S/W it crashes..
It happens in every player in every video(on sd card or through streaming)
Use dice player. Simply THE best player.
I tried Dice player too... but it still happens.
I have the same problem. I have used the stock video player and MX video player. I have no problems playing streaming video from YouTube. Or Netflix. But when I try to play a video that I have saved on my internal memory, both players close randomly. It may be oneminute in or 5 minutes or 7 minutes. The player stops and closes back to the video menu. It seed to always happen when I am playing. Video I have ripped from a DVD. It has only happened once when I was playing a video that I recorded with the Prime or on my EVO. Welcome any suggestions

Have those with these issues noticed it across all updates? Of the system as well as the respective apps?
I haven't really tried video from the internal card... Better get to checking that >.>

Prior to yesterday's update I had played YouTube and Netflix and videos that I had taken with my Prime - all with no problem. I still seem to have problems with those formats. Unfortunately, today was the first time I have tried a video I ripped from a DVD. Several videos several attempts and they ALWAYS shut down before the video is finished playing. Unfortunately, Icannot comment on pre-.14 performance.
I haven't tested on any update other than .11 (I'm tired of using more battery than is necessary, I'm not moving off this update until I see a good reason... or get bored again ) but I'm so far 33:40 into a 1:28:05 movie and having no issues...
Greetings from Portugal.
Before I start, yes, I have tried searching for it. Found a couple of old threads that didn't help much...
My question is: Is there a way to watch any video format without it stopping every few minutes?
If I use the stock player everything is fine, but it cannot support several video formats like avi, rmvb... etc. I use the MX player, but on some types of video, it stopps every few minutes. It's sooooo annoying!
From what i've seen in some threads, it happens with other video apps too. AND, when i am watching something directly from the internet, like fastpasstv, the video stops loading also every few minutes. I have to restart the loading from the middle... not hard, but also annoying. (using stock browser, and this doesn't happen on youtube for example)
Is the issue related? Since it seems to be happening to both online and offline video viewing...
I am stock, non-rooted, and non-unlocked... Wifi is fine.
I have the same problem. But it is a MX Player specific one for me. BS Player works fine (but has other issues).
Edit: I tried with the 'Performance Mode' and it works so far. Maybe a workaround?
I never have this problem when streaming one of many video formats from my PC to my Prime using ES File Manager to find the video files on my PC and MX to play them as streams.
Is this something that you tend to experience with streams/videos being played directly on the Prime?
For me it is locally played .ts videos.
Meanwhile I found this thread http://groups.google.com/group/mx-videoplayer/browse_thread/thread/533d7296c0305183
It might be a Prime/ICS problem. There seems to be no solution up to now.
I get this same issue trying to stream video from sites other than youtube. It is when I'm streaming that I get most of the lock ups with the prime, reboots, etc. Maybe it is something to do with the allotted cache size of the browser being used up and cleared to make room for more buffered video?
It is rather annoying. You basically have to let it load and watch the whole thing as it goes. If I hit pause or so anything else then it risks stopping the stream where ever its at in the buffering. It's nice to have it start loading up, hitting pause, and walking away for a few minutes to let it buffer up. But then when I come back it would have just stopped about a 1/3 into it or 1/2 way. It would require hitting the reload button at the top or having to close the browser, kill it in the task manager, and then reopen it.
I don't have this issue with Netflix though. They did something right in their app.
I used to have this issue with mx player. It really sucked having to restart a movie every 5-10 minutes.
You want to use Dice Player. It's played everything I've thrown at it. All in Hardware rendering so the screen goes blank when plugged into HDMI.
Haven't had any issues since. I'm using the paid version, I assume they are both alright though.
Okay...I thought I was fairly experienced but this has me stumped
When I try playing from the Samsung Media Hub, all I get is blank video but I get all the audio and subtitles.
If I hit the back button, I see the last video frame before the video player closes.
Tried JoeVLC as well as MX Player and I get the same behavior.
Avengers used to play fine just a few weeks ago.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the video players.
I tried uninstalling any apps I installed over the past few weeks as well.
I Google'd for everything I could think of and only found one facebook Page that sounded vaguely like this problem but MX Player solved it for them.
Anyone else see this? Or better yet, fix it?
PS. Forgot to mention I tried rebooting the phone without luck.
Youtube and Flash in Web pages work fine.
This is also a stock ROM.
I have found out no matter what rom i flash and with front viewing sensors off the video stock player continues to be choppy/skippy during video streaming play. Is this phone missing some kind of software codec? for being a new phone why is this an issue. I've downloaded Dice player which sometimes 85% of the time works while MX player usually works 90% percent of the time but both players do show some struggle at times. So anyone had this issue and figured it out ?or am i the only one with this issue? i do want to mention youtube play back works perfect with no hesitation its just when running streaming on video stock player. I'm running on firmware MJ4.
What sites for example?
With the information you've provided, I'd guess that it's a network speed issue. MX player works great but it needs data to play a video. The difference between the players might be the default cache size before playback resumes. I used to swear with dice but mx plays more codecs. Just my observations... I've paid for both programs but found more success with mx, especially with the variations of codecs under the avi file name extension. I have yet, to the best of my memory, found a codec that mx couldn't play. Dice, unfortunately being my first choice, had ran across quite a few video codecs it refused to play when mx played it with no problems. Having the arm 7 neo plugin helps too with mx and the n3.
Thanks for your observation and input I am using both players at the moment any ideas why stock player is not effective in playing? for in stance it's always choppy and skippy while while other phones play streaming fine on the same wifi connection

Was going to see if I had the same problems. Just got mine yesterday. That was all.

Forgive me i'm actually the one out of line but its funny how the note 2 didnt have this problem when it came to video streaming i had it was maybe a configuration setting but i've looked at all the settings on the note3 with no solution to this so i wondering other were having the same problem and why Sprint has not addressed this issue with its stock player. So much money on this expensive phone and having an issue to something simple as the video player com'mon makes me wonder what other faults maybe present with this phone.
