Whatever I tried,
with multiple explorer apps,
I cannot copy pictures to the standard 'pictures' folder in my standard android system.
In the pictures folder there are only some pics that came with the eee pad and that i cannot remove either.
I guess it has to do something with rights to write, but why can I copy to other folders and not this one ?
I can even create new folders.
I'm using an eee pad transformer prime, only one user account.
Any help ?

Is is possible to change or add file association in Honeycomb on my PRIME? Do I need ROOT for this to be available?
For example I have a Kindle book with a .MOBI extension. I would like to open it with the reader COOL READER but there is no file association for this. COOL READER will read non DRM Kindle books. So I am unable to click on the book from Asus File Manager and open the book. Yes I can go to Cool Reader and find the book and open it that way.
Files aren't associated in the way they are in Windows. Instead, they use the Intent system. Applications should tell the system what they can handle, and after you install a new application that could potentially handle a file type that you had an old application for, the system will ask you which application should open the file in the future.
You might be able to fix this by going to Manage Applications, finding the application that's currently opening .mobi files (actually application/x-mobipocket-ebook files), and clicking Clear Defaults. But if Cool Reader doesn't register its intent to open .mobi files then I'm not sure if you can do anything about it.

Click to collapse
Thanks for your input.
I cleared data as you suggested (going to Cool Reader and clear data) but the .MOBI Kindle book is still not associated. Cool Reader does associate the .EPUB format OK.
So unless the developer of the app sets the "Intent" correctly there is no way to manually do it late.
I know this seems like a silly request, but i just deleted all the pictures on my prime, including the ones that came with the prime in a folder called "Pictures" (not the DCIM folder nor the embedded wallpapers)....so I was just wondering if there was anyone willing to upload them?
bump...anyone?
Pictures folder was empty, at least for me.
Coming from my Nexus S to the Galaxy Note, the PC to Phone file transfering experience is a lot different. I do not like what Samsung (or ATT) did to it.
It constantly asks me if I am sure if I want to transfer files to my phone. "Do you want to copy XYZ.xyz to your device? Your device might not be able to play or view this file." It's quite annoying when I'm trying to copy over files that are not all the same file type. Any way to get around this?
I'm on Windows 7 and I prefer to view all my files in the "Details" view type. However all the directories (that I haven't changed) on the phone are defaulted to something different and there is no way to change this but go into EVERY folder and modify them. There has to be an easier way. Is there?
On my Nexus S I had about 1100 music files. Prior to switching phones I copied all the information from my Nexus to my PC so I can transfer to my Note. When I copied the files from my PC to my Note I only had 750 songs and a good amount of my albums were missing 50% of the songs. Is this a limitation of file types supported with the Note?
Can these issues be resolved if I use a microSDHC card reader to put my files on the card?
These issues baffle me because they're both made by Samsung. Only thing I can think of is that the Nexus was Google's baby and they didn't want limitations put on it, but the Note wasn't.
Thanks for reading.

Hello Community!
As everybody might know, the stock camera app saves taken pictures in the DCIM folder (phone memory or sd card - depending on the settings).
Unfortunately, photo files are becoming more and more in this folder, as Android does not create subfolders for every 100 photos or so.
I remember that nokia phones (with symbian) did create subfolders after 100 photos. That was waaayyy better, especially when you are entering the DCIM folder via PC. In Android, if you have many photos in the DCIM folder, it takes such a long time until all photos are displayed in the explorer and are accessible.
My question is: Does there exists a trick / tool / setting that allows Android to create subfolders in the DCIM folder automaticly?
Any help would be much appreciated, an approach without root would be prefered, but if neccesary I'm also interested in aproaches with root.
Hope someone might have some suggestions.
Greeting from Germany!
Hannes
Hi there,
I am hoping to get some advice from the experts here please.
I regularly take photos as part of my notes in Onenote. In my old Nexus Android tablet, I was able to get access to the actual photos' JPG files in the android file directory, under Pictures - Onenote.
I now have a MiPad 4 with MIUI 10.3.2, and I can no longer seem to find these photos' JPG files. I have tried looking around in the file directory, and have checked Photos, DCIM folders etc. and have hidden files shown too.
Has anyone come across this and know where they are stored please?
I have done a search online on this too and did not find anything. Thank you in advance.
