I have rebooted, put on charger, off charger.
My wife's bottoms are lit.
Is there a setting for the brightness of them?

Mine did that too but have mysteriously turned back on. I looked through all the settings and couldn't find anything. Post if you find a solution.

My wife's have been doing the same. I think they are tied to the light sensor. If I hold my finger over it they come on. I was in a dark room and they would not come on.
Both of our gmail app has been locking up too.

bottom lights
I have the same problem the lights at the bottom doesnt light up and cant find anything in the settings to turn them on.
Anyone now how i get them on ?
apparently when ever you get a notification they light up? if that's.the case mine is messed up, are there any hidden settings for that feature

Mine only light up when the screen is on. The LED light above the screen(next to the camera) lights up on notifications or charging.
Same, only lights up when the screen turns on.
They also come on from drop in ambient light. With screen on in otherwise dark room, turn off lights they come on, turn on lights, they go off.
hmmm maybe I was misled

Try a different charger/cable
Are you using the original cable? Most HTC phones will do that if the battery is completely dead, you have to let it charge with a charger that is the same or higher amperage than the one it came with. Once the light stops blinking, you should be good to turn it on.
When you say ended up dying, are you meaning it died once, or it died, you turned it back on to try and read a text or get a number till it died again, etc.
I'm asking for a valid reason not just picking on you. But Yeap make sure you're using the OEM stock HTC charger or another charger.
If that doesn't work try the computer. Whatever you do don't keep trying to turn it on until it actually starts charging.

I had the most baffling thing happen to my dna that I cannot explain. Ok.. I was using my phone like usual when I received a message to go out with my buddys. I decide to go and plug my aux in to listen to music on the way.. I get to my destination and in a hurry to get inside I forget my phone in the car. (At this point idr wat my battery % was but doubt it was low) so after about 30-40 minutes I realize I left my phone. So I go out to get it and find it unresponsive. I press the power button and the screen doesn't turn on. I figured it may have died so I plug it in to my usb only to find no notification light turned on to indicate its charging. I wait a while as its plugged in hopping to get the blinking orange light but nothing. Press and hold the power button + vol button(s) and still nothing. Any ideas as to what happened? Any thoughts on how to turn turn it on? I was on Viper 3.5 with ihate 5.5. Ny ideas are greatly appreciated. I am in complete dismay.

When you press power and hold (no volume) do the navigation lights begin to blink?

No they don't

Seen this before. No one knows why it happens but I have found some success trying a couple of things. First let's try to leave it on a charger for 24 hours and see if it becomes responsive. If that doesn't work what people have done is they remove the back housing dissconnect the battery and reconnect it. That works for most people. I would try it if you feel comfortable opening the phone. There are plenty of tear down videos that can show you how to open the phone and the battery connector is near the bottom. Just gently remove it and then reconnect it. Be careful not to tear any connectors while your in there. Then see if it works.

Last night I set my phone to charge and now it wont power on. It got pretty hot when I woke up. The notification light isnt coming on if i plug it in. What should I do?
my guess it that you should go with a repair shop if no LED light works while trying to power on
I had that happen to my first G5. It never did turn on. I had to warranty exchange it.
