I am naming this ROM with my wife's initials CG as a token of appreciation for her support of my work on this project.
Also credit should be given to Chaosz-X, as part of our ROM was based on his work (mainly the vendor config files).
We have moved to RC release which means it's fairly stable and with most functionality supported. But it doesn't mean it's fully working there are still some bugs and some functionality unsupported see below section to see what is not working.
Also remember that this is not a ported rom it's build from scratch with official HTC HC kernel source modified to work with JB AOKP, so it's very stable but the progress is slower since the degree of difficulty is higher. So be patient.

That's because it's build from aokp tree directly, if you have use cm9 or aokp or any other aosp flavor rom, this is how small it usually is. But it doesn't have gapps. so you need to download those separately.
Well, installed, but it doesn't seem to be booting. It just stays at the initial HTC screen. I'll leave it be for a few more minutes, but if it doesn't work, I'll upgrade to Honeycomb and then try flashing it again.

Makes sense. The files for my phone that are built from AOSP are always smaller than the original ROMs, too.

You may not have to install the whole HC, just update the hboot for HC if you have it and try again.

Already started the process to upgrade to HC. I'll keep that in mind for next time, though, if necessary.
Flashing right now
Edit: Ok so from the few minutes i been playing with this the only bugs i notice are:
Red perimeter around the screen if i remember that has to do with the drivers
A occasional lag with the keyboard
the nav bars look too small but once i went into rom control and changed the nav bar width back to default they looked better
Whenever I long press anything on Trebuchet or Nova the screen rotates and then rotates back real quick not allowing me to move the item or anything
I downloaded and it installed on top of Honeycomb without a problem. This looks very promising!
yncconsulting, are you interested in feedback and bug reports at this time, and is this thread the right place for it?

I saw at first the same issues with the red perimeter and not being able to drag an app to the desktop, but this has fixed itself after installing an app from the Play Store.
EDIT: oops, now the rotate-when-drag-to-desktop effect has reappeared
Thanks for the ROM its working great the only issues I have run into is with the homescreen transitions little laggy. A few forced closes when I use the ROM settings and tried to change the theme. Any chance of getting a Sense 4 integration in the future? Or any Sense for that matter I know that this is huge having a working ICS but I really like having a Sense in there too. Again great job guys.

Wow, sounds great.
I know over on the E4GT you have to be VERY careful about how to flash an AOKP ICS build, what recovery to use, what kernel to use - lest you brick your rig.
Any special precautions here?
** Thanks so much for this! Should I assume that the pen will work everywhere with this rom as it does in HC?

Guys, hate to bust your bubble...but this is an Alpha-release, which means more things don't work than those that do. Please read my original post, this release is for ppl who are curious about ics, want to play around with it.

It doesn't happen for me, wanna share a video of how that works?
Don't need bug report as there are too many and we know it. Unless you have some ideas or suggestions on how to fix the issues.

Okay, on this ROM now.
I've seen a couple of the bugs that the others have seen, but no big deal for me. For the rotating thing, a reboot put it back to normal for me.
The biggest thing I've noticed that actually does matter to me (other than the rotating thing above) is that scrolling can be wonky at times. If I flick too fast, it won't scroll very much, or it will just bounce a little bit where it is. I sometimes have to follow through with the motion all the way for it to smoothly scroll, in any direction. If you need a video of that, just let me know.
You're off to a better than excellent start. Of course there's bugs that need to be worked out, but you've gotten further than anybody else has, so kudos!
Not that we don't want to but this is source from aokp which means its pure google android without any HTC add on.

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0T9vUtBDOQ
I'm first long pressing an app icon on the desktop, the screen rotates twice while I keep the finger down.
I then enter the apps menu and try to long press a widget, then swipe over to the apps section and long press an app, both with the same effect.

Use CM6.1 instead
#TeamFenix (IRC channel: #mytouchslide on Freenode) presents Cyanogenmod 6
Details/Goal: I've owned Android phones for about 2 years now, I've always enjoyed making minor tweaks to the previously simple CyanogenMod so that it would suit my purposes (lightweight, fast, good battery life). When CM6 came along I was slightly distraught that it had taken a turn for heavily drifting from the old AOSP with Google Apps (not entirely for the worse though). So I decided that I will modify CM6 to suit my needs and eventually compile it from source instead of relying on Eugene's or the nightlies.
Changes:
2.0
-Stuff was done, or something
-EVEN MOAR AUDIO FILES
-Better bootanimation
-100% untested!
1.9 (unreleased)
-**** all
1.8:
-Rebased on newest nightly
-Removed lots of crapware
-Made a flashable .zip that will let you restore said crapware
-Played with the kernel
--Apparently broke with the kernel, must use OC kernel (I think)
-It's BLACK!
-Fixed the force closes (by way of apk removal) of the Pinyin IME/OpenWnn IME.
1.7.1:
-Minor build.prop change to allow stock Swype to install/work
-something else I forget
1.7:
-Removed Swype as it is for wrong device (try the 2 linked below
-Custom pr0tips.apk (built off LithiumMod's source, thanks guys!)
-Bootanimation is back (custom #TeamFenix one soon!)
-Bluetooth audio (possibly) fixed, see instructions below
-Fixed the provision annoyance
Flashed and running. All good.
I think I'm having poor 3G reception at this time. WiFi works though....
I can confirm Bluetooth is working!
Keyboard works except the FN and Shift indicators.
More testing tomorrow....
I was able to update Swype using my method here:

All the roms i've seen for the slide so far use ADW or HELIX launcher. To be honest I don't hear much talk about launcher pro. Is there a reason people don't use launcher pro? Or is it just personal preference?

Personally I HATE Helix and Launcherpro is going to be a paid app eventually, I don't an issue with people making their applications cost money but I prefer to support a developer who's work will be free forever (hopefully) and accepts donations.
and with ADW I can set the overshoot to insanely high amounts

Apps2SD works fine (tested Froyo's native move to SD, with the Dictionary.com application on a 100% FAT32 card)
I can suggest some replacements to Sense applications if you wish (Beautiful Widgets + it's widget packs are great alternatives to their stock Espresso counterparts)

I'm not quite sure, I thought I had it working but it errors out (wrong device). You could try one of these versions listed, I will contact Eugene today or tomorrow to see if he has any insight
Also I was partially wrong about the camera being 100% fixed, the flash doesn't work (I saw a commit that probably will fix it by @cmsrc so it may be working tomorrow)
edit: The camera LED only works for the camera, not external programs. The aforementioned fix should correct it.

I'm liking this rom so far and will use it as my daily tomorrow and see how it goes.
Some Issues:
The only way to bring up the lock screen is to press the power button or menu button. Home, trackpad, back, genius doesn't.

What's wrong with the Froyo implementation? Personally I think the old method was a PITA
Also those aren't issues, but configurable options. See CM Settings > Input > Trackpall unlock/wake. The others seem rather redundant (do you really wanna wear out home/menu/back instead of using the trackpad? Personal preference I guess, you can set WAKE_UNLOCK in the /usr/keylayout files though if that's really your cup of tea)

It's just that on the stock htc rom it does this and I thought it was an issue. Didn't know it was as simple as mapping the keys in some config file. Thanks for clearing all this up all I need is the trackpad.

Oh I thought you were implying that there was something wrong with Froyo's, my bad
No problem, I recommend disabling surface dithering under Performance, makes scrolling much more fluid in my opinion.
Not sure if anyone else noticed this Rom over in the I9100 forums but it looks great. Pretty much the best of both worlds the smoothness of a Sammy Rom and the some of the best functions of a AOSP Rom such as dialer, SMS, contact, etc. I tried to use the Flash-aholicsTool with no success. It seems to process it okay but when you flashl the rom you'll get a lot of "System UI' has stopped working errors.
I might be in the minority but...this looks like it would be a great rom if someone with a LOT more skills then me was able to make it run.

No I did a full wipe....with a format of the normal (data, system, etc) actually tried multiple times.
I was able to get it to work. I had on force close for android.phone but once I cleared it I was able to use and make a call without issues. I did not test out the Chameleon v1.2 very much. Just was curious.
So here is what I did.
1. Flash the rom completely and then booted it up completely.
2. Hold down the power button until the popup appears and choose reboot, then recovery.
3. Choose the Chameleon add on if you want it. (I did this step).
4. Go back to recovery and choose the i777updater-Chameleon I made and flash it in cwm. It will give you the mic swapped siyah kernel 4.1.4 and add other files for our button config, CSC files, etc.
5.Reboot and it worked for me. Again I did NOT thoroughly test for it as it just seems like a version of CM9 or something from my very limited use. Hope this helps.

I had that same problem the first time I flashed it. Then I went back in and flashed it again and had the one force close but then it all worked after. On the first flash it seemed to me like it was an issue with the cwm recovery version. I was on cwm 6. and when I went back to recovery I still had cwm 6. and thought that was weird unless they were using it as well. Then when I flashed it the second time, reboot the phone, went back to recovery to flash the add on then I had cwm 5. then I rebooted the phone again, then again went to recovery and flashes the zip I made to fix the button and all. I am not positive here but it did start working for me.
I only tried it out for a short time, maybe 30-45 minutes. It just seemed like a version of cm in a way so it wasn't of much use to me. I didn't really see any of the Samsung stuff in it.

OK I am downloading it again and will try to check it out. I will change a couple of things like the contacts.apk or phone.apk or? since that is the error that I saw. If I can get it to where it is stable I will send you a pm with a link to my edited version of it. I am just gonna kang it because there has to be something that can be done for us. I am NOT saying I will port it and post it anywhere. It is their work. I will just see what I can figure out for personal satisfaction and then share with ya what I did.
Solely because it is bugging me seeing that it isn't working. I have NEVER had an issue with ANY i9100 rom not working so gonna give it a try.

That'd be awesome, RockRatt. Let us know what your experiences are.
FYI, the phone crashes are presumably due to the CSC files from your updater zip. The ROM dev took out all the CSC stuff, and I did not get those crashes prior to your zip. The problems I am having are: SystemUI crashes unexpectedly and frequently, and "Preparing USB Storage, checking for errors" will sometimes remain in status bar permanently after boot.
The SystemUI crashes remind me of the ICS leaks back in the day that no one could figure out. Finally I think Entropy (who else?) found out it was related to mms APNs or something. I don't quite remember.
It's strange b/c we have been able to run i9100 ROMs with only kernel and keylayout changes. Not sure why this one would be different.
Things I have tried:
Full wipe, format system AND sdcard
Run ROM without external sdcard
Run ROM with inlcuded (SpeedMod) kernel to see if more stable
remove Busybox, unroot
Reinstall Busybox/Superuser
playing with APNs
switching modems
I think I got it all to work properly. So far NO issues at all. I will upload it and shoot whoever wants it through a pm. Again this is NOT my work so I cannot put it in here. I just got it to work and put it into 1 zip file to flash. I replaced the original kernel with siyah 4.1.4 mic swap from AJ. So shoot me a pm if you want it.

Use Ktoon's Flash-aholicsTool. It works perfectly with this rom.
EDIT: Data won't be enabled by default; after booting and going through the setup wizard, tick "enable data" and on the next reboot, it will connect.
I guess there's something either with my hardware, or with the way AT&T's network is where I live. Seems you and RockRatt have no issues, and others like me and OP have nothing but. It's weird because I can't think of any other I9100 ROMs being this device/region specific.

And i used the EXACT same zip on my phone as those I gave it to. AJ also asked for it so MAYBE he can figure it out if he wants to or has time. I didnt plan on using it too long anyways, even with no issues for me and it did seems smooth. I like using CM10 or one of my ucle5 roms personally. It just didnt have enough for me to stay on it. I like more of a themed rom and it is basically a look alike (graphics wise) as CM9 to me. I didnt see anything of the samsung apps or asop apps I cannot get with CM10. Hope for those that are determined to get it working figure it out. Personally AJs UCLE5 is just as smooth and fast without glitches of any kind. My roms I made were based off his work and they just work. When i like living on the edge i use CM10 which also flashing it every few days pretty much cures my flash addiction.
Not sure why it doesnt work but if you look at the OP of the Chameleon rom he specifically states that data needs to be wiped or you will have issues. Not sure if that is what is going on here since I can only read what your issues are. But dont give up and i am sure you will get it to work as well. I did save a nandroid and may go back to it for more testing, but if i cannot replicate what you guys are seeing I dont know what else to look at.

Although I have provided this as a non-wipe ROM, YOU MUST WIPE DATA. You will absolutely encounter issues if you don't wipe. You can restore User apps but do not restore system apps, and especially system data.

Tips
Use an alternative launcher
I've included the stock AOSP launcher to keep everything, well, as stock as possible, but I've noticed Apex or Nova to be smoother
Turn on Force GPU Rendering
Ok I don't know the why's and how's or even if this is 100% correct but I've made some observations about GPU rendering in AOSP and Samsung ROMs:
Samsung ROMs seem to respect application manifests with regards to GPU rendering. If an app's manifest has hardwareAccelerated=false, the Rom won't use GPU rendering for that app.
AOSP ROMs seem to have GPU Rendering always enabled (despite what the Force GPU Rendering checkbox says in Settings) and override the hardwareAccelerated tag in applications.
I've noticed much smoother scrolling in applications which have hardwareAccelerated=false if Forced GPU Rendering is checked in Samsung ROMs. Root Explorer is a good example. Try it yourself - open up Root Explorer and fling the screen up and down a few times. Then exit (properly, using the back button, not just clicking the home button) and check Force GPU Rendering in Settings. Open up Root Explorer and try flinging the screen again. Massive difference.
For a smoother and more AOSP-like experience, tick Force GPU Rendering.
Chameleon ThunderBolt! Addon
I've selected a some particular scripts for Chameleon from pikachu01's awesome ThunderBolt! collection.
Better performance, better battery life through Linux kernel tweaks catered for Android OS and flash memory.
Better battery life and performance through usage of screenstate_scaling whereby it switches thresholds/VM tunables depending on your screen state.
Less RAM usage through zipalign.
The screenstate_scaling addon will perform VM scaling and governor tunables scaling to get the best of battery life and performance.
TCP_Buffers script in /etc/bolt_scripts to increase TCP buffers for better network performance.
All credits to pikachu01 for ThunderBolt!
ThunderBolt! for Chameleon
FAQ
I'm already on v1.0/1.1 Do I need to full wipe to use v1.2?
No, a non-wipe flash should be fine, although if you encounter any issues please perform a full wipe and test again before posting about possible bugs. If coming from any other Rom, you must wipe.
I just flashed it and my phone is running like a snail
As with all new installs, give the media scanner time to do its work and the system to build caches etc before judging the performance of (any) Rom
MTP is not working on my Mac
Make sure you have Android File Transfer installed, and, oddly, click on Camera (PTP) in the USB computer configuration dialogue

I didn't use anything, just replaced kernel/keylayout. Then tried RockRatt's version (PM'ed).
I'm going to test it out. Will report back results.

Yeah, but you know how it is. It's just turned into one of those things I'm more determined to figure out the problem. Actually running the ROM is almost secondary at this point
Using Flashaholic did not solve it for me. When I got to work, SystemUI crash in the same place, despite being stable for 10+ hours at home the previous day/night. Guess it's just not gonna work for some. Thanks for the help

Ditto... using flashaholics and using rockratt's fix didn't help either. Something in the hellraising must be reverting some change that jazzk made to get his ROM running Samsung+aosp

If your into the Rom scene on the Galaxy Note II you might recognize the rom name. I now bring my battery saving, low DPI, stock look lite Roms to the Droid DNA. If you like my Rom, great. If not, please use your backup made before installing and restore your old rom. Thanks for testing it. And please report all bugs and fc's in the thread not via pms. I'm not claiming this rom will give you a massive battery increase. But it should be higher than your stock rom as I have removed a lot of ram consuming bloat. In theory it will give more battery life. At least it has in my testing Vs my stock rom.

fanboy in technical forums has always had the Demeaning quality. i edited my post because I was told by a few people, credit doesn't matter anymore. I was actually trying to be informative before someone gets pissed, I guess it doesn't matter anymore who does what.
i'm going to run it through it's paces, even though I think desensed roms, using sense as a base, is rather... incorrectly termed.

Well thats all we've got to go off of as of right now. Without source or a AOSP kernel were forced to run desensed roms as an AOSP stepchild. All i was trying to say is i think the OP just meant this rom isn't ideal for people who like stock and or sense roms. No malice intended.
waiting for the download link!!!
No malice intended, its just not for sense fans naturally as its not there (sense). I reworked it to say fans now. Not fanboys. Again no harm indended. I'm on slow internet so the upload is taking time. LAst minute bug discovered so had to re-up it. Please save the reviews till its released and you have tried it!

tbh desense roms work better than aosp would anyway. Battery life on stock is always better on every device i've ever owned and there's less bugs than an aosp rom built from scratch. Also does anybody know where I might be able to find a flashable Verizon droid boot animation , I prefer it over the HTC one.
Can't wait! Thanks, H

No, its just not upscaling so much, 320 DPI vs 480 DPI. 320 is a standard DPI used by many, so no market issues either.

There seems to be allot of questions out there. Figured put some of the most common answers, and questions in a easy to reach place here in the Questions And answers section. this OP will continually be updated from here forward. ill try to sort them to the best of my ability based on how frequently questions are asked.
Please make sure if you are reading this to see if your issue is present, that you have preformed a clean flash of this rom every time until it comes out of beta, as dirty flashes are at this moment unpredictable.
THEY HAVE REMOVED THE PUBLIC BUILD FROM THE OP DUE TO TOO MANY PEOPLE POSTING WRONGLY IN THE DEV THREAD!! FLASHABLE ZIP AND SVN GUIDE BELOW. DO NOT POST IRRELEVANT INFORMATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT THREAD, CHECK HERE TO SEE IF YOUR QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED, THEN ASK GENERAL. IF NOT PLEASE PREPARE A LOGCAT AND POST ACCORDINGLY.
Sense 4.+ kernel warning
Q- It seems like my minimum Values i set jump all the way up to 1ghz instead of where they are set at, is this a known problem and is there a fix?
A-this is a known problem and i believe it is due to it being a sense 4.+ kernel. I still get wondefull day long battery life but this is not the same for every user. Please take this into account if you use a sense 4.+ kernel.
S-on quick warning
Q- I keep getting asked for a binary update in SuperSU, and each time the installation fails, what should i do in this situation?
A- Some users have reported this and so far, the fix actually has been listed by therealpnut. The instructions for the fix are to Update SuperSU to latest, It will then allow you to update the binary on S-On.
Q- I get stuck in a boot loop or power cycle when i try to install the rom and i am S-on. Is there a better way to install it for S-On users currently?
A- Yes, there is an application called HTC dumlock v2 that will allow you to install Roms/Kernels as if you were S-off, while S-on. Download the 2 files for the universal version here, http://www.teamw.in/project/htcdumlock, Instructions are as stated below, youll have to scroll down just a little.
Instructions:
1. flash file 1 install-htcdumlock.zip
2. Boot current rom.
3. Run htc-dumlock v2, grant it super user permissions it will say succeeded and reboot to recovery, if it does not, do a NORMAL reboot, do not reboot to recovery, just a normal reboot. This will reboot you to recovery
4. Flash file 2, do not reboot at this point.
5. Wipe all
6. Flash both Rom and Kernel at the same time (this will work as if your S-off even though your S-on) and go through armoa correclty and set everything up (i recomend Arc Reactor .03, though please view the Sense 4.+ Kernel Warning for our device above.)
Downloading The Rom
Q- What have they added in the latest revision?
A- This can be found here https://code.google.com/p/evo-4g-lte-sense5-port/source/list.
Q- Where can i find a flashable zip of the latest revision?
A- Viper boy has provided a link to the latest builds here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=3957 THX @ -viperboy-
Q- where are people getting the latest revisions past the flashable zip on the op?
A- they are using svn, Here is the guide for svn setup and use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805548 the checkout is listed in the roms OP.
Q- Does anyone know what the checkout is for SVN?
A- The Official SVN checkout is: http://evo-4g-lte-sense5-port.googlecode.com/svn/trunk. Viper was kind enough to give us a flashable zip of the latest revision in general, and that download link is here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390362690511177341
THX @ -viperboy-
Q- I dont have access to a computer, how can i download the latest revision from SVN?
A- The best way to solve this problem without a flashable zip for the rom, would be to download an APP from the play store called OASVN. It should be fairly easy to set up if you have used SVN on a computer before, and best of all, its a free app THX Knightwolf123
Q- Would it be alright to dirty flash the rom at this stage in development?
A- As there is no way of telling the results of this, i would have to state that until a fully functional build is posted to Clean Flash every time.
Q- What is a dirty flash exactly?
A- a dirty flash is simply flashing the new update of a rom without wiping any data, This can sometimes work and save you alot of the trouble getting your apps back and setting them up properly. But it is not recommended to do this as it can cause issues with the rom itself. Unless explicitly stated that its alright to dirty flash, you should avoid it at all costs. Support wont be given to those who have preformed a dirty flash, until a clean flash is preformed to see if that resolved the issue. THX for showing me this was needed tonyevo52!
Q- I dont know how to use OASVN, is there a guide or faq somewhere around our devices forum?
A- im not aware of a guide specifically in our forum, but here are the instructions.
1. Download and install OASVN
2. Open OASVN
3. Tap Add repository
4. type a name (can be anything you want it to be)
5. Type the repository URL http://evo-4g-lte-sense5-port.googlecode.com/svn/trunk <- type this EXACTLY (lol messed up the first time here)
6. skip username
7. skip password
8. skip private key.
9. Select the folder you want it to download the SVN revision to (default is alright as long as you can remember it, Generally internal storage writes faster though.
10.click save
11. tap your newly created REPO
12. tap checkout, it will start download.
Afterwards to zip the file up use an app called 7zipper and compress everything in the folder containing the revision EXCEPT THE TXT FILES AND BAT into a ZIP file. I recommend using the highest compression ratio, but believe me that harder the compression, the longer it will take to get the file, you can then flash this zip file in TWRP. THX @ scottspa74 and tobisunruh for informing me this should be here.
Themes
Q- are there any themes for this Sense 5.0 Rom?
A- Gumby64 actually just released a WIP theme in the general thread, the download link is http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390375540264796195 for screenshots go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202422&page=36 and check post 359.
A-Steal25 is currently working on some transparency throughout the roms UI. There have also been hints at themes in development in the general section
A-Blue Sense 5.0 theme downloads https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zgwvqhzhffr1ck9/Hecg14C4hi THX @ Kchitown1977 & ThatotherGuy.. & termin8tor22!?
Q- Is it normal for my status bar not to stay transparent throughout the rom?
A- Yes, it should remian transparent on the homescreen, or while in the launcher generally, except in some instances, but in apps it must remain solid, this is due to the illusion created when your eye sees something either totally seperate from the phone, or something totally seperate from the app you are in, it looks somewhat like a hole in the device, and is distracting if left transparent throughout.THX @ Kchitown1977
Audio issues
Q- Netflix doesn't appear to have any sound upon playing a video, is there any fix for this and is this a known issue?
A- There is no current fix for this issue, however it is currently be worked on and is a known issue. THX @ Mrrogers for throwing this issue into the bug tracker.
Q- Pandora doesn't appear to have any audio upon selecting a channel, is there any fix for this and is this a known issue?
A- You can try the pandora fix listed in general, although one has claimed it doesn't work it might for you, go ahead and uninstall google play services, and then open the youtube app, it will prompt you allowing you to install the latest. this is however a known issue and it is currently being worked on.
Q- Im not getting audio to play through any of the webpages on the browser, is there any fix for this?
A- Again, the pandora fix is the only one claimed once to have solved this problem, and it has not worked for everyone. This is a known issue and it is being looked into by the devs. This OP will be updated immediately when this issue has been resolved.
Q- Im not sure how to uninstall google play services, could you put me in the loop?
A- Go into titanium backup, click backup and restore after its all loaded. hold google play services until a prompt comes up, and then click uninstall. Now go into youtube and install an updated version and all should work well.THX @ Bard77 for reminding me to put this here.
Modifications
Q- Ive seen screenshots with a battery percentage mod instead of just a plain green battery icon. Where can i get something like that on my sense 5?
A- OMJ has released a flashable zip including the battery percentage mod for Sense 5.0. You may also download Battery Widget Reborn and customize the status bar icon to green, and place it in High Priority. DL here for OMJ's AROMA mod installer here http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?15800 only pick Battery Icon Changes and nothing else. THX @ Kchitown1977 for pointing out my mistake. The Battery /w percentage mods decrease in 10% increments, THX billyho7993
Q- Are there any functional kernels out yet for this rom?
A- All Sense 4.+ kernels function properly on this rom. I am currently using Arc Reactor .03 max GPU OC and max OC with intellidemand processor. Phones battery lasted all day.
Q- is there any way to improve battery life on this rom?
A- this is possible using any sense 4.+ kernel proven to increase battery life. Such as..to be honest all of them offer better than the stock rom. i am using Arc Reactor .03 and my phone lasted all day with medium-heavy use.
Q- Is there any way to get rid of that pesky "USB" connected notification in the status bar when i plug in my phone?
A- Yes, Flex 360 actually just introduced the fix and the post can be located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202422&page=32 on post 312. The Download for this modification can be located here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e9ynl7jpmy3tr45/Settings.apk there is not yet any current flashable zip for this modification.THX @ Flex360
Q- Is there any way to remove the Power Saving Notification from the notifications window?
A- Yes, this mod has been implemented in the latest revision of the rom. Hurry and update
Q- Ive noticed some stuttering when scrolling around in some apps, and blinkfeed, is this being worked on and is there an available fix?
A- The Smooth Scrolling mod has been re-implemented THX to Flex360. Instructions are to copy it to your phone in System/Framework (DO NOT DO THIS WHILE THE ROM IS RUNNING) Do it by going to mounts in TWRP, mounting system, then going to advanced/file manager, and use that to copy over Framework.jar. The download link is...https://www.dropbox.com/s/urwpwbwwkcgdgy8/framework.jar THX @ Kchitown1977, thesparky007 for the reminder to post instructions
Q- Are there any cool modifications for the camera out there?
A- Yes, Leoisright has released modifications allowing in video HDR and Slow Motion Video the download for this is http://www.mediafire.com/?nzffjj9map8nsp6. Instructions are to move the APK to /system/app and set permissions, and reboot.
Q- I seem to see a line through my status bar, its faint but its definately there and ive put no modifications on the status bar yet, is there a fix for this?
A- Yes, gibson posted his fix today in the general section. the download link is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1836988&d=1364363187 copy and overwrite the file in System/App and set permissions and reboot. SAFE: Do this inside of twrp with system mounted, in advance/filemanager. NOTE: this will undo any status bar mods you have had on previously, all you need to do is re-flash them and they will work again without the line through the status bar.
Root Access
Q- I keep getting a request for root from ResetNotify. What is this app and is it safe to grant permissions to it?
A- From my understanding based on the reply from ilduce in this section, the best thing to do would be to deny it, il duce states he may remove this logger from the rom.. THX @ billyho7993, Il duce.
Q- I'm having some issues with root access and a few apps. Is there any fix for this and is this a known issue?
A- yes this is a known issue and there is a fox available thanks to steal25. Set super su to grant instead of prompt.
Network Issues
Q- I cant seem to download anything from the Google Play Store, It just sits there and hangs, is this a known issue and is there a fix for it?
A- This problem isnt present for all users, however it could be due to the fact that your google play store is out of date, check and see if your Play Store Version is 3.10.14, if not, try updating to see if that solves your issue. THX billyho7993
Q- Upon attempting to watch a video on youtube, the youtube app Force Closes, This is the same with most streaming options available, is there any fix available for this?
A- the fix has been posted for this issue in the General thread,
"In order to enable streaming (YouTube, Pandora, etc) over your data connection you need to add EPST.apk and
HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk to /system/app as suggested by CaptainThrowBack, dial ##3282#, enter your msl, then make DSS and advanced-RTSP/HTTP Setting look like the attached images." THX @.Gibson. billyho7993, and david279

Other OS
Q- Is there any way to run the build .bat file on my MAC?
A- I cannot test this but you could probably simply archive everything thats not a information txt file and see if that will flash for you. Otherwise you can check here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110818171632AA4szz5 for the possible solution. Also, the flashable zip downloads have been added to the downloads section THX @ -viperboy-
Sense 5.0 Features
Q- I cant seem to change the items on my dock in sense 5, it just makes duplicates when i try to move them onto the homescreen. is there a fix for this?
A- This is actually a feature of Sense 5.0, they are called shortcuts, and to change items on the dock you must drag them into the app drawer.
Demonstration: THX to Sean8172 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qN3_BNV2tw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Q- I cant seem to drag an app from the app drawer to the homescreen, is there any fix for this and is it a known issue?
A- This is actually a feature of sense 5, its can be a bit hard to notice at first, but to drag an app from your app drawer straight to the home screen, drag the app to the top left kernel where it says shortcut while holding the app, hold it there for a few moments and you can place the app anywhere on the homescreen. You can also place a shortcut through the widgets menu, by changing the category from widgets to apps. THX @ aarsyl for pointing out this was missing from OP
Q- can that pesky blinkfeed be removed?
A- Not currently
Q- can I move the blinkfeed to the right, or change where the page is located?
A- Not currently.
Q- Can i change the way blinkfeed displays information, and in what order?
A- This cannot currently be done on the rom.
Q- can I set a different page as my main homepage?
A- yes, click, hold, and drag to the option to make any page your main.
Q- How many homescreens can i have on sense 5?
A- The current limit is 5 including Blinkfeed.
Q- the 3x4 grid layout in the app drawer is annoying. Is there any fix, or way to change that inside of the rom?
A- Yes, Drag down on the top page of app drawer, click menu, grid size, change to 4x5
Q- there used to be a section in the messaging app called personalize, i cant seem to find it, is it still in the rom?
A- Yes, it has been renamed to Colors under settings in the messaging app.
Q- is there any way to fix the contact pictures looking all dotty?
A- yes. This is actually a feature of sense 5 to make lower quality images look more professional, Guide for fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39325872 THX @ jonathan_phang
Force Closes
Q- the gallery is force closing is there a fix for this?
A- this has been fixed in the latest revision of the ROM. You may use any gallery app from the play store.
Q- I keep getting a Google play services force close, is this being worked on? And are there any fixes?
A- This is a known issue, and there is a temporary fix available thanks to Steal25. clear data, Uninstall google play services, open youtube, it will prompt you to install, problem solved.
Camera Issues
Q- My pictures taken on the stock camera look distorted, is there any fix for this and is this a known issue?
A- Flex360 recently released a camera fix, it hasn't been committed to the revisions yet, but download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/pw3ci9yr8wkfpql/res_ctrl.conf, Place the file into the system/etc folder, set permissions and re-boot THX @ Flex360 & David 279 &-viperboy- for his posts in general.
Q- I switched the new camera to burst mode and tried to take a bunch of shots, and it didnt seem to work, is this a known issue with the new camera and is there a fix for this?
A- This is a known issue, and there is no current official fix. CameraMX from the market place has a burst shot mode along with having the correct resolution for our devices camera, that is recommended until this is fixed in a later revision. THX @ dased14
Q- I keep trying to make a Zoe with the stock sense 5 camera and its not working. Is this a known issue and are there any fixes?
A- yes the camera not being fully functional is a known issue, and is currently being worked on.
Navigation
Q- Is there going to be a GPS fix, and is this a known issue?
A- GPS fix has been implemented in latest revision R65
Sizing Issues
Q- will we be getting the sense 5 keyboard any time soon?
A- Yes, and lots of progress has been made so far, judging by screenshots in the general section, for the 4.2 keyboard will have to do. All other keyboards from the play store still function normally.
Q- there seem to be some sizing issues all over the ROM. Is this being worked on already and are there any fixes?
A- yes it is being worked on and some fixes for sizing issues have been implemented in the latest revision.
Other Issues
Q- Bluetooth doesn't seem to be working, is there any fix for this, and is this a known issue?
A- there is not currently any fix for this but this is a known problem and it is being worked on.
Q- I seem to have duplicate folders when attaching my device to my computer, or duplicate music files in the music APP. Is there a fix for this?
A- From what i can tell this issue has only been experienced by a small amount of users and there is no fix available yet, however this is a known issue and will be worked on in the future.
This will continue to be updated. I may have left out a few, feel free to ask them and get answers.
OP online updating status: Offline for a bit spending too much time on here so taken a break for about an hour or so.
Some of the questions may not be available when using the Xda-Developers APP, i cannot see one question in particular when using the app that i used to be able to (question relates to the dock and icon positioning, Additional thx to sean for the video). Just a heads up.

Yes they are currently working on ways to improve the gps on the rom, they actually tried to commit something relating to gps in the latest revision, and get it functional. I personally am not having an issue with it, have you tried Tele-nav to see if you get a solid lock with it? with latest firmware and radios i get a solid lock every time, actually faster with tele-nav but i know google navigation is the way to go for most, that is something i dont use, i assure you they are working on the issue from what ive read.
Question and Answer added to OP
OK dumb question time...how do you change out the apps in the nav bar? Before I could always put the apps I use regurally, like maps and gmail, but I can't seem to do that with sense 5.
Thanks

To remove an app from the dock (or navbar) click and drag it into the app drawer.
To add an app to the dock, you must click and drag the app from the app drawer onto the dock.
The reason for this is that icons on the homescreen are shortcuts, it is a new sense 5 feature. (Strange as it may be)

Yeah I've tried that and about everything else I can think about and still no GPS. I've flashed back to a stock ROM and gotten a lock pretty quick and then come back to this one and still no luck. I've gone into GPS Test and cleared the AGPS and updated the AGPS and still nothing. Any other ideas?
Are you on latest firmware/radio update from captain throwback? They had some GPS fixes in there...

It seems like OP could sufficiently be summed up with

Some of the early screenshots I saw showed a blue battery icon with percent. But that YouTube vid Sean made had plain green battery. Just wondering what version comes with ROM?

hey i actually havnt heard of this issue before, but i just tested this on R56 and it seemed to function fine, though the youtube app does need an update.
You can try FreeDI youtube player, its faster and doesnt buffer as often anyways, its a tad more complicated, but it might fix your issue on the revision youve got.
you can also try the fix for the google play services F/C i added in THX to Steal25 and see if that helps at all.
Or you can try updating the revision to latest and see if that works for you, to do so you need SVN and the guide is in the OP

I believe that the zoe functionality can be utilized with a 3sec video limitation, and a frame by frame video editor, customized to enable you to pick the best shot from the video. Both things can be done in android already using a few different apps so im not sure why the Zoe functionality wouldnt work unless they actually forced a hardware requirement o.o which to be honest im not sure of.
it could easily be that way, but i can see how it could be done without that simply by putting the 3 second shot into a zoe format and then letting the gallery utilize that format to create the animated gallery and video production through zoes.
I hope that is what HTC has done, but the zoe functionality simply uses the video function of the camera and the splits up the frames of the video to my understanding. i dont see why it wouldnt be able to function correctly on our device.
thats just my theory though of course.
other features of the camera such as ultrapixel and the like are hardware specific but from what i can tell zoe is all software

Question and answer has been added to the OP
MiGusta - MIUIv5 for the Droid DNA
MiGusta is a port of AdyScorpiusMIUI for the M7 to the DNA, ported on to a freshly built CM with a couple kernel changes to make it boot. This is only for the Droid DNA on Verizon.
If you download this rom and flash it to your previously rooted/unlocked/s-off device, I take no responsibility if something bad happens, it's all on you now. However I'll probably feel bad and try to help...
First and foremost, special thanks to...
AdyScorpius - for porting MIUI to the M7
chad0989, crpalmer, and the CyanogenMod Team - for getting CM on the DNA
lbxmobbin_1 - for helping me out with RIL issues
What works
Data (4g, 3g, calls, texting)
Camera
WiFi
Wireless charging
Mostly everything, but I haven't tested things like NFC or bluetooth, so they may be broken (if you can test this and let me know, that'd be super)
What doesn't work
Anything that's broken in CyanogenMod (by theory)
Bugs and Solutions
4g isn't enabled at boot - dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to Phone Information, scroll down to Set preferred network type and change it to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL), then toggle data off and on (via Settings or the notification toggles)
Performance may not be as great as stock AOSP roms. That's because this is a port, and not entirely built from source, not to mention it's MIUI. It's been smooth for me, but this rom may not be for you if you're into intense gaming. Also, if you're going to bring up benchmark scores, don't bother posting because benchmarks aren't worth anything.
Superuser isn't enable by default - This isn't really a bug, but since I'm sure MIUI is new to a lot of people there will be issues with this. Go to the Permissions app, go to ROOT, and enable permission monitor.
Led doesn't flash unless plugged in - go into Settings > Led and change the colors to Green
Making phone calls to numbers that begin with 1 don't work as expected - remove the 1 from the beginning (this is an MIUI issue)
All sent text messages will display as "failed" after a reboot fixed in 130717
I'd like to mention that I turned the recent apps button into the menu key, mainly due to the fact that MIUI doesn't have any settings that could enable menu functionality in the hardware keys.
Questions and Answers
Q: does this work on GSM/will you release a GSM or Butterfly version?
A: it might work on GSM, I personally don't know since I'm a Verizon customer. I am not going to release a GSM/Butterfly version of this rom. I am not going to risk doing something wrong and breaking someone else's phone that I can't personally test/debug on, sorry. If someone wants to release a mod that will make it work for GSM, then by all means go nuts and I'll add it to the OP, but I cannot provide any kind of support for it.
Q: will X kernel work on this rom?
A: short answer - no, long answer - maybe, I haven't had time to go and test every single kernel on this rom. This is an AOSP-based rom, so if you're going to test a kernel make sure it's for AOSP. I personally had to do a couple of small kernel mods to make this rom boot, if you tested a kernel and it doesn't work, ask the kernel developer to contact me and I can send them the goods.
Q: how do I do X?
A: Google it. I am not going to answer any questions if you haven't put in enough time and research to look it up yourself. MIUI is an entirely different system from AOSP, and there are different ways of doing things (such as permissions/superuser). If you Googled it and came up dry, then leave a reply and I'll try to help you out.
Q: X force closed/my phone rebooted out of no where/I'm having some other issue, how do I fix it?
A: explain what went wrong, what was the procedure to causing the issue, and most importantly provide a logcat. If you don't know how to get a logcat, Google it. Explaining the procedure might be enough for me to fix it, but a logcat will drastically help in me getting a fix.
Q: when is the next version coming out/when is this feature getting added/when anything?
A: no
Q: can you add X app in the next update?
A: no, I'm trying to keep MiGusta relatively slim, and unless there's a VERY good reason, I won't add it.
Q: I get an error when trying to flash, what do I do?
A: make sure that the md5sum of the file (which can be found next to the download link in the OP) matches the md5 of the file on your computer. I flash the rom personally before uploading it to make sure it's smooth sailing, so if it doesn't flash then chances are you just got a bad download. If you downloaded the rom more than once and the md5 of both are the same, but doesn't match the one I listed, then let me know because it means it was a bad upload (and my fault more than anyone's).
Q: do I need to flash gapps?
A: nope, they're included!
Q: can I use your rom as a base for my rom?
A: I'd prefer if you didn't, mainly because I spent days learning how to do all of this by hand, and I'd prefer if all my hard work wasn't kanged. If you want to try porting MIUI yourself and you've run into an issue, shoot me a PM and I'll gladly share my knowledge
Please note - I am a human, I have a life, I have a job, and once the summer is over I have school. I'm doing this as a hobby, so don't expect me to be lurking this thread all day and answering questions on demand. I can't promise this will be updated as soon as a new version of MIUI/AdyScorpiusMIUI comes out, but I can promise that I'll try my best to release updates as soon as I can, and that I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.
DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS POST IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Performance on the home screen is slow when moving icons and folders, but everything else seems relatively smooth. I changed the I/O scheduler to deadline in performance options which seemed to smooth things a bit. The games I've tried run without lag. I noticed the MIUI Weather widget isn't installed, and the status bar shows 'Verizon Wireless' in front of notification icons. Has anyone been successful in activating their Xiaomi account? The page doesn't load for me.

You have to go into the permissions application, which is in the security folder and enable root access

It's a known issue that the LED doesn't flash for notifications when the phone is unplugged, for a temporary workaround, go into Settings > LED and change the colors from blue to green and they'll start working again!
Just to let people know crpalmers kernel is working pretty damn good on this. Wipe cache and flash. Then wipe cache again.

Ok here are a few bugs I'm noticing. 1. Battery percent does not work when selected 2. We have some left over htc one options in advanced options (it is greyed out so I assume you are about to get rid of them

Was your phone plugged in when you switched to battery percentage? I noticed it doesn't show up when you're plugged in, but when you unplug your phone it works correctly.
And I didn't even realize the HTC One settings were there, I'll get rid of em' in the next release, thanks
