Anyone please help…..
Condition: Plug in ear piece and listening music or FM radio.
With Silent mode “OFF”:
During incoming call or SMS, phone and ear piece both can hear the incoming call tone and SMS tone. – This is fine.
With Silent Mode “ON”:
During incoming call , ear piece can hear the incoming call tone. – This is fine
Problem:
If got incoming SMS, why ear piece cannot hear any SMS tone?
Is this a behavior of Xperia Neo V or do I missed out any setting?
This issue cause me missed out a lot incoming sms during listening music or Radio,
Anyone please help ?

Have you installed an custom made ROM or its a default ROM? And Did you root your phone?

If you havent done much with your phone then i would recommend you to connect your phone to the pc with sony's pc companion and update your software. If you already have the latest version then there is also an option to repair your existing firmware. You can try any one according to your requirement.

Android Version: 2.3.4 (Not plan update to ICS due to a lot problem feedback)

Download the firmware you want to use. Its generally available in .ftf format. And that flash that firmware using a flashtool. Both of these things are available on the neo v development section

And ICS is not that bad as you think. Though its a bit slow but the ui is much much better than gingerbread.

99.9% yes. It'll solve your problem and if it doesn't, you have a good reason to get your phone replaced

Yes, I use it for receive normal calls, but it doesn't work with skype's calls...

yes its true, skype doesnt work , checked on SE ray, mini pro SK17i and samsung galaxy ( hbh-608, hbh-600, hcb-105, hkw600 and kenwood car radio) in my opinion its common android problem. i hope it will be fixed on next firmware.

they said that HD2 got speaker & audio IC's connected so i need to change both together.

I had the same problem has helped me with a new installation
Revert back to stock Rom. It may fix this problem.

i downloaded the ROM from htc website, but it gave me failed boot error & my HSPL got changed to SPL
& i had to install back Nexus HD2 -ISC 4.0.4.

it was an hardware problem, i had to change the sound IC with speaker costing $9.

I recently flashed cm9 on my x10 and everything was working fine. But after a while i wasn't able to call people anymore. I mean i could call and they could hear me, but i could not hear them at all, I didn't even hear the beeping before someone picked up.

P.S.: Same thing happened to me with Zs CM 7 version I had before this one.

Haven't tried that, listening to music and the ringtone still works and stuff... but i will give it a shot when i'm home. If i were to install a different kernel, which one could i use without messing anything else up? Dont really know alot about this stuff yet.

i have a speaker issue with my phone. When i play music without earphones, the back speaker doesn't works but when i call and i select back speakers it works. Moreover, when i call somebody, i couldn't hear the man speaking by my front speaker.
I have a Xperia U (ST25I) with stock ICS(4.0.4).
If someone could help me, it would be great.

I have the same problem as you!
Don't worry, your speaker is OK. I think you have a software problem. Try to make a factory reset after you back up every important things on your phone. If it still not working, just make a software reinstall with SUS. Should work.

My Xperia U runs ICS 4.0.4 (6.1.1.B.1.10) and is sim & BL locked, un-rooted. Recently found whenever i made a skype voice all (to another skype user, not landline or mobile), the loudspeaker stops working after that..
anyone has similar issue and possibly a solution?
