Is it possible to get the ics, or any update package from official Sony repository?
I think it's possible to track the incoming and outgoing web requests using some app and then download the official update "officially"...

PC Companion and Update Service are available for us. The file repository EMMA needs user account to be approved by Sony, which is highly unlikely to happen unless you work with Sony Mobile.

Sony Ericsson is not Nokia.
NaviFirm can be free, but what has that to do with SE(or should I say SM) repositories?
I am quite sure, that tracking will not help, as you will not get access to the servers without specific usernames/passwords/codes, that are included in Update Service and PC Companion..

I suppose you did the official update, right?
Did you have custom parts before?
You could try repair option in Sony Mobile Update Service.

Strange issue, although I read about some camera issues from the Sony Support Forum also...
Try reinstalling the ROM.
If issue still appears, you have to wait for the official ICS, shouldn't take too long with your carrier. Just connect your phone, open Sony Update Service and look for update.

does it do anything interesting?
Still haven't updated to the last update, don't feel to miss something/something was broken.
Is there also a list somewhere what every update does?
hopefully it fixes the annoying signal going off problem...
can anyone pls upload a ftf or a .img? update still not available for me
it only just got certified... it'll be at least 2-3 weeks before they actually release it... IF they release it...
That's cool...
Sadly, PCC says that my software is latest (I'm on .564 BTW)
Even the update center never notifies a thing!

if u're still on 1.564 _DO NOT_ update to 3.162...
He can't anymore, 3.162 got pulled off PCC when Sony found out about networking issues. 1.564 is currently yet again the latest firmware for the Xperia P and U.

Yeah, it seems to just not affect some devices. Unfortunately my device was affected, so I had to downgrade to .564.
How can I install the "generic" firmware for my Xperia U ST25a? I looked on xdafiles site and there was only an ftf file for the ST25i version. Since my phone has my operator's firmware, I doubt it'll update it as often as Sony would. hahaha
Anyone have ftf file build numb. 177? if u have please upload it
It's not yet released. It's just been certified, means you'd get it via PCC in 2-3 weeks

You say it takes 2-3 weeks after certifying to be released... but, as you can see here http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=21037 , there is plenty of certified versions, but I'm still on .564...
I'm new to Sony world (this is my first Sony phone). How this works? Is it local?
Not every certified update gets pushed out to users at the end.
True..
I'm on. 564 and I was never mentioned I had an update to .162 as Sony had withdrawn the update following the signal loss bug...
You just gotta be patient

That's good for you then. Sony took back the update for .162 as they realized that many people are facing severe connection problem.
I am now on .162
Well, the problem only occurs when you have GSM connection, if you set the connection to WCDMA/GSM you won't have the problem.
I am still waiting for .177 update, let's just hope it will come real soon
If you're facing the network problem, why don't you flash with .564?

I am just fine with this firmware, of course without considering the network problem on GSM.
I noticed that this FW is much faster than .564 I managed to get >2500 on quadrant which I could only get 2200 on .564 firmware.
If the update does not come within 3 days, I am planning to downgrade my firmware.
By the way, does flashing via flashtool void you warranty ? Somewhere on Sony Forum it says "might void" your warranty. It sounds vague to me.
Guys any one facing cameras issue?
Like for me after.some shots cameras closed with messages "camera not available"
Any one? Btw I am on .564

Sorry
This one was indeed planned to be rolled out today. There should be more regions available later, but it might take a few hours/days for most countries to have the update available.
well i just care about the ftf file!
I am on LT26_6.1.A.0.452_Generic_CH_1257-3740 at the moment, so if you're desperate flash that and then keep checking to see if it starts to work, because I am guessing it must be close....hopefully
Just gonna sit here and wait for a .ftf too

I think you have to re-lock the bootloader before using PC Companion/Sony Update Service.
Also, today is the only day I haven't brought the USB cable to work with me.

No. Its not an intended release for generic users.
An open source archive build is basically Sony providing all the tools necessary to build a kernel and perhaps start cooking up ROMs. Depends on what they include.
Just talked to Sony mobile support and they told me an update is starting rolling out today. Should fix several things, in my case the audio issue I have.

Same here on the Z3 D6603. I have to manually check for the updates but then it works.

What updates did you go out to find yourself? The only biggest update I've done is updating Walkman to the Material design that had been released for the Z2 Tablet. Only inconvenience is them removing the ClearAudio+ button from the front menu...
The problem isn't from the app. The notification that doesn't allow you to login is because Sony has discontinued their Music Unlimited service. The Walkman app doesn't know this though so you get the error message.
I cleared the message doing this:
1. go to settings
2. turn off Music Unlimited.
I love the Walkman app and hope that Sony doesn't really rebrand it to Music.

We aren't talking about the Walkman app having login problems, we're taking about updating apps from the Update Center. Which quite frankly, Sony confirms it will be discontinued and the feature will instead be integrated with What's New.
As for Sony dropping the Walkman brand, it's a move to get new consumers to know where their music is at since most people around the age of 15 or so didn't get to experience the brand iconic culture before in the 80s and 90s. Better just back it up before the update.
Damn, I thought I was being so helpful.

I don't think there is a way to back up anything you've downloaded from music unlimited if you were a paid subscriber. It's all in Sony's proprietary format I think. It's going to be a pain because 3/4 of my tunes will be gone and I'll have to set it all up again on whatever the replacement provides. Sony should do something for us paid subscribers due to the major inconvenience.
