So I was messing with data settings and found similar settings in this we know of from og EVO etc
If there is a post on this sorry
Just wondering if anyone else messed with it
Obviously msl is needed either the reader from the market or via sprint you can get it .
Also if using msl reader root privs are needed
I think there is other ways those who know more please feel free just learning

I always does for me (at least in Kansas City). Latency is improved and throughput is always higher as measured by multiple speed tests.

Hello, I just got a new evil 3d becuase of the dual core processor because I thought that the internet would be faster. Is there a configuration needed? With my 4 g my speeds are in the 400 and now with the 3d "dual core" processor I'm in the 200's

The processor has little to do with internet speeds. It helps, making things more responsive, but the signal effects the data speed. And the antenna on the 3D are at the bottom near where you'd hold the phone which could degrade the signal.
Is the phone faster than the 4G? Yes. Does that mean you'll get faster data? Not necessarily.

Thanks!, understood 100%. Would you recomendar an antenna booster or something like that? I have the airwave coming on Monday, does that actually help?

You'll return it in a week, once you see how slow 3g is with sprint.
IF your lucky, you might get 100k up / down, but typically, only 25k

This is dependant on location. I'm not doubting you are experiencing slow network speeds, but it's purely a matter of tower saturation, and your surroundings. I'm consistantly seeing downloads in the range of 1.0-1.7 mbs. Sometimes, at night, I can break 2.0 mbs, but that's because there isn't much activity. But, I'm in a major metropolitan area, with strong network coverage from the major 4 carriers. There was a blip for about 8 months where the speeds were really slow, but Sprint fixed the tower by my house, and now I'm back to normal.
And, to the OP, I didn't notice any difference in download speed between my Evo 4G, and Evo 3D.

exactly it all matters were u are with any network. ive been with sprint forever and ive always seen consistent 3g speeds in my hometown ranging from .8-1.7mbps recently ive moved from the east coast to the west coast and im still seeing great speeds but not the same around .5-1.0 which still works and i somehow managed to move from the best 4g city to another great 4g city haha always see speeds of 5-12mbps

The Airave doesn't provide 4G Signals. It does however provide 3G Data Connection which is usually faster than what you'd get from a Sprint Tower. Also Depends on your internet connection that you'd be hooking the Airave up to.
I just hooked up the airave and I went from 0.2 to 1.3 . It's bad assets. I recommend everybody call Sprint and get it. It's freeeeee.

My evo 4G is actually a lot better about picking up a 4G signal, but the speeds are about the same with both. The 3G and 4G antenna are still on top with the 3D but the wifi and Bluetooth are indeed on the bottom of the phone.
If you're not getting at least 600kbps on 3G call sprint and let them know. That's the minimum speed they advertise do usually they'll credit your account for it.

ha what PRL did you change to?.....if its one of the VZ based ones on the forum here just be careful as Sprint will not think twice to hit you with a little letter when you go over the roaming allotment...
Sprint's data speeds are so crappy, don't expect you speed tests to be similar. And upload speeds are usually never as high as download.
And yes, be careful if you flashed a Verizon PRL not to go over 300mb a month.
Prl 11115 I don't think I'm.ever in roaming, how would I see if I am

Think thats the Sprint Corp PRL....though I could be wrong...
You should always know exactly what your flashing and adding into your device before doing so btw, so you should know exactly what PRL you have to be honest...
I yep it is for Sprint corporate. And I understand that I was just trying to give insight to those in my area that my data speeds went up. My apologies for not researching enough. Moderators please close thread

Wow simultaneous 3G data & calls actually work at the same time. I read rumors of this but heard towers needed upgrading for it to work. Didn't think it was actually gonna work but it works perfect also getting much better 3G speed.
Is this in all areas or just certain ones? I wasn't sure if the towers actually needed upgrades or it was phone limitation.
works excellent for me from Norwalk, CA all the way through Rancho Cucamonga.
Mine doesn't. Is there a setting or something?

I don't think there is a setting, that's why I posted I wanted to see if it was area specific or not. I just remember reading a rumor about it a while ago but thought it said it would depend on the towers. I'm in Minneapolis area.

I tried it earlier but completely lost data connection and put it back to original..can someone with their MSL try it and tell me if it was jist me or if it happened to them too.

When on 5mhz N the max I get is 65mbs. I know my network will go 300 so is this a limitation of the Note?
Thanks!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
anytime a device is using a dual band router...5ghz is the fastest on wifi.....make sure when choosing it..your wifi setting are not on 2.4 or auto...make sure your on 5ghz as well to achieve maximum performance..do this by clicking menu in wifi setting I believe
Hmm, tried that but no change even when standing right by the router.
Thanks though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
I think you have reached the limit of the device if you are seeing 65....g
if your just looking at your wifi screen and it says 65mb....that's not telling you much at all...download speedtest app in market....make 2 profiles 1 with your 2.4 ghz with password on router and a 5ghz one....now scan your phone and simpky try each and test each one separatetly on wifi, that's the only way to know what ghz is really faster, then looking at the wifi login screen..
You must not live in the US. I would kill for those speeds.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Are you sure your not looking at this menu..lmao....Yes the picture of my 2.4 ghz says 65mpbs but with testing. the note will never achieve this value..believe me...the most I have ever seen is upper 40's on wifi....the picture of your your wifi screen means hardly nothing...testing it on speedtest will verify what thkse actual wifi speeds are

Yeah so is mine but that'll only give you local transfer speeds, not from the Internet
It's been a while since I looked ...
But the note maximum wifi capacity is in the 50-60 range I believe ...
Again ...I honestly can't remember.
That sure would a nice speed ...
My best is around 10 down ....g
This is my fastest on wifi...some higher on Lte...I made a thread in general section called Att apn hack if interested...here's my screen shots..

by the way, wouldnt the note write speed limit you anyway?
like your connection is 300mb u say. so say you had it transferring at 250mb....but could it? since i doubt the note could write data that fast? well at least not to the emmc. doesnt where u writing to internal or external matter as to how fast those memory/drives are?
