I bought an android from the UK, but I live in the US. I am trying to stream my amazon cloud library to my android, however, the app thinks that my phone is a UK phone and won't let me stream my library, as this service is only available for the U.S.
Is there a way to make my android phone look like it was purchased from the US?
(I have official rom, with root access)

I'm trying to figure that out too. I have an HTC one x. Apparently we need to change the system language to English US. But my one x doesn't have English US as an option....
You could try to edit your build.prop
Look for en at the end of one line, then UK at the end of the next.
Change UK to US
Backup before you do this though.

Actually I have figured it out!!!! You have to download an app from the play store called " more locale". Then you open the app and select English USA. It will give you acces to USA apps without issues. Note that if your phone as the option to use English USA then you don't need to download that app. English USA wasn't available on my phone that's why. Cheers!

By the way, the app keeps asking me to update to newer version every time I tried to open something. It helps if you just need to check your portfolio or market.
What's the best app you guys use for checking stock prices / analysis? The only one I use is bloomberg but if you know anything better please let me know
Google finance and yahoo finance is incomplete and does not carry a lot of international stocks.

I like Marketwatch www.marketwatch.com. The web covers the Asia, Europe and US market on real time. You can also have your own portfolio here and they will show real time quote, before and after market too
Hi all. If anyone can direct me on to the apk of the Amazon.co.uk mobile application ( uk.amazon.mshop.android.apk) that will enable me to access amazon UK from my mobile, I will appreciate it. Unfortunately in Greece the relevant application does not exist in the market and my phone is not rooted (so I cannot use Market Enabler)

I'm in the UK and had to go to amazon.com (not .co.uk) to sign in, I was then sent an email which lets you download the app. You'll need to do the same yourself.
I got the app installed but it doesn't work in the UK, they must have plugged the loophole.
If you visit the amazon.co.uk site there is now a link directing you eventually to Android Market where you supposedly can download the specific application for Amazon UK.. Maybe you can try it. Myself I cannot find teh same in the Greek market this is why I am looking for the apk directly... (maybe if you can download it in UK then you can mail it to me

i need some help.
i've had to flash uk rom/fastboot onto my phone.
however in language/keyboard it does not have australia.
i need this as some of my apps run off these settings eg. hey tell app inputs country code based on language/keyboard set and there is no way around it even if i manually put in country code it still adds on the default language/keyboard country code.
is there any way of adding english australia on?
what's worse is i've tried flashing stock rom, doing asia recovery. that all works well and i can get english australia as an option but i can't do OTA update. i get an error.. a status 7 error. (i've posted this in another thread in development section).
any help would be great please!

Download morelocale2 from the market and set the region to EN.AU. It's a bit of a lifesaver at times.

If it's possible, then yes, it'll do it. Morelocale is utility to set, well, the system locale to any country you like, which - as you've experienced - is useful when your phone or firmware doesn't explicitly include yours.
In my case, I use it because the UK locale naturally sets the default currency symbol to the pound, and I need the dollar sign. Setting the locale to EN NZ effectively gives me the UK language settings I need with the currency symbol I need, so I'd wager it'll do the same for you.
It's free and doesn't need root access, so you can't go too far wrong.
Just sold my wife's iphone 4 and she bought a S3 instead. She is a runner and always used to use the Nike app and the Path app on iPhone. She would post her runs to Path from Nike. It was a sharing feature. Another option was Facebook or Twitter but she doesn't want to share with Facebook, just her small group of friends on Path.
We verified in advance that Android had Nike and Path but come to realize after installing that there is no option to share Nike runs with Path in the Nike app.
Does anyone have a work around for this or another GPS running app you use to update Path?

I use nice + allot but I have found most of gte sharing options don't work.
I gaunt tried root share to path. But Nike like the iPhone brand so wouldn't be surprised if things don't work / taken out on android

Hi. I have mine from ebay in japan. But the problem is that the samsung gear apps does not recognise the watch so I dont have any app. Maybe when it launchs here in Spain its solved with the gear manager update.
Is there any way you can send me the opera and here maps to install them from the pc. Is you samsung gear apps working with your?Is there any vide player app? Here are some pics I put in a spanish web. Thanks

Someone said he took his gear S into a store and paired it with the demo phone and everything worked gear manager opera mini ect but his Note 4 does not recognize the gear S so Samsung has to update the firmware he was told to try again Nov 7 th once it releases to USA
