Hello. I can't move google play store to my sd card. I have integrated the update into the system and it is really annoying me.

Try clearing the cache. The play store apk itself is only 6-7 MB
You can also try DroidSail force2sd from the play store.

I just uninstalled the updates because the app won't bother to move to sd card.

If you have integrated the update into the system/app folder you can flash the google apps add on interface from Rom manager or Rom toolbox. This add on may uninstall Google maps. The older versions of this has the market app that only takes about 3 to 5 mb

Link2sd does not support my partition. It does not recognise it either.

Titanium Backup
wont Titanium Backup or ROM Toolbox help you?
i use it to convert system apps to user apps and them move it to SD
You can use Titanium Backup to do so. Open TB and search for the Play Store in the app list tab and there you'll find the option. Cheers!

I’m trying to delete a few unwanted apps as in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826491, but their permissions are read only. Does anyone know how to change a file’s permission with Astro?
Try using titanium backup.

Not exactly the answer I was look for to resolve the problem. However, I appreciate the response, but I don't want to download another app because I already have quite a few.
For astro you are looking for something called godmode. It appears to be a script add-on of some sort. I dont use astro though when dealing with permissions, I just use root manager. I have heard that es explorer does have an experimental feature for permission handling.
Edit; root explorer not manager ;/

Titanium backup is the answer. It will remove any app you want, even system apps.
I don't understand why you would not want to have TB, it is an essential app for all rooted phones to backup your apps. But if you don't want the app you can always uninstal it after you have finished using it...
Also it does not take up much space in the memory. You can use TB to move apps onto the SD card to free up more space internally as well

First and foremost is Titanium Backup. Then second would be Root Explorer. (IMHO).

Do an XDA search for "AppShare". This is probably one of my favorite apps. It doesn't require root though as stated in the OP. Or do you mean exotic in the other sense? If so, I have nothing to offer in that area.

Hi, if someone has managed to patch market to have available non-qvga apps, I would like to ask if you would be willing to download Sports tracker by Nokia v 1.5.2 and post it.
I would appreciate it.
P.s. it's free: )

Search google for sportstracker.apk download, I found and downloaded it from the first page, save it to your SD card and install with a file manager like astro, root explorer etc...... good app but I'm a bit too lazy to ever use it!

Did that before posting here, It's not the version I'm after but thanks anyway
Anyway thanks for your replies, actually I managed to get it, and it's not working good.
I own a Samsung Ace, and I bought it in Middle East. Apparently Android Market is officially not supported here yet.
Now the phone came with one installed in it. I used it fine, never bought any app but downloaded a lot of free apps. They ran fine and everything was good. Except for one thing that ever since I had been using the phone, it had the habit of occasionally shutting it down.
So I took the phone to Samsung care they rebooted the phone or reinstalled the OS. Irrespective of whether the phone's working fine or not, I no longer see the Market icon on my phone.
I have tried downloading a couple of apk online. But one of them force closed even before the Market opened. The second force closes itself when I select any app from the Market.
I can come up with only 2 solutions,
1. Some ACE user out there send me the apk.
2. Some geek tell me how to find the market apk inside the phone, since the phone came with market installed on it, so there has to be an apk file inside it.
Waiting for everyone's reply.
Login your GMail app.
or, install the CWM and install the gapps from there.
Using root explorer, go to system-> apps-> & install vending.apk

Dont jus say thanks, use d 'THANKS' button. [XDA RULE]
Just instal one of samfirmware ROM (if you brought your phone, then flash all except the modem (Phone)). The european roms have Android Market instaled by default (but you will lose your warranty). If you want, I can write a tutoriual for that.

As long as it has root access, you should be able to shift gapps to the /system partition.
Install ES explorer and in the seetings mark root acess
For me best explorer and it's free

Use the Site search and you'll find dozens of threads on it, and search for App called Directory Bind because that's what you need if your phone's Rooted.
U have already posted this there

If you're not rooted then you're out of luck.
Well... I would not call it out of luck because technically the Move-to-SD option is no longer necessary since the apps are already stored on the internal storage and no longer in their own small /data partition.
